Didnt need to embossing ink over the missing part if you was going to cover it with strip of cardstock - but then again, even I probably never thought of it during the make. As for the cut side not to show up - use a creaser and go over the cut part to flatten it down, so now you have 2 sides flat. Love the card though, so elegant - great for invites as well!
