For those who don’t have Serum, you can recreate this in Harmor. Harmor has the AB which can be the 2 wavetables, it has the low pass filter, the pluck time (which makes this even much more effective), (but if you don’t want) it has the envelope for volume, it even has the distortion, reverb, and delay fx. HECK, you can even recreate this in 3xOSC, just choose a saw wave and a sine wave and add an envelope for the volume, however it doesn’t have the fx. You need a separate reverb, delay, and distortion.

Ive yet to see anyone make pads this way & literally this is the sound I was going for. The better 80s mixer knew how to get this sound out of the lexicon 224 & when I heard those mixes as a kid it just felt like reverb magic. I see now its alot like the "wall of sound" concept because youre literally triggering so many long reverb voices that you cant even tell what the original sound sounded like. This effect layered w/ more traditional warm airy pad sounds is like a godsend technique. Examples of retro songs doing it masterfully: Michael Bolton's "Save Me" intro & "Never Get Enough of Your Love" outro, Mariah Carey's "Cant Let Go" intro, & Glenn Medeiros' "Love Always Finds a Reason" outro.

you just make it really wet with minimal dry and it removes a large amount of the transients from the pluckiness associated with arps, emphasising the actually frequency of the note instead of the initial main transient. Decay time really helps too
