"Phone glass" is a bit of an understatement, although technically correct. Corning's top-of-the-line Gorilla Glass with DXC offers incredible handling of reflections and all the clarity improvements you'd get from a glossy coating. The adhesive used for bonding is carefully formulated so that it cancels the effects of the matte coating underneath. Unfortunately, you are correct that LG does not offer alternative coatings until the panels are older and have been replaced.

I’d recommend you check what your bank’s chargeback policy is before ordering from these guys
@@TheXGamer213 I would be purchasing through Amazon for this reason. In a perfect world, there is retail store near me that has both of the monitors I mentioned setup on demo for me to observe myself... In lieu of that, all I can do is ask those who have had first hand experience with both.
If you haven't already, we'd recommend looking at reviews that compare the 32" QD-OLED and WOLED monitors, and that should lead you to an answer. Besides any complaints about the WOLED coating, the main comparison points between the panel types still apply.
Not worried about the price. I care more about motion handling and brightness. FPS limitations don’t bother me as I don’t reach 240+ on Warzone in 1440
Lg was planning to start mass production of IPS Black panels with 240hz, 360hz, and 480hz refresh rates for everything from 1080p to 4k. If they're still on track, we could see them in the spring.
So I wanted a solid OLED for my monitor for around $1K. I looked at a few OLEDs displays in person, all matted. I have a 32 inch VA matt panel display and absolutely hate it. So glossy without being ultra wide was required. Settled LG C4, I wanted the 42 inch, but they were selling the 48 inch and the 42 inch at the same price. Went with the 48 inch for $1K. Applied $150 in gift cards to knock it down to around $907 after taxes. I've been happy since, but this display does impress me. Now 3 out of 4 monitors/TVs are OLEDs. I still have the VA panel. Probably sell it at some point this year.
They glued the Gorilla Glass to a already Matte Coating instead of just making it pure Gorilla glass... 🤦 Yeah this does not solve the problem. No thanks. I won't be buying it.
@@ignaciosevil1944 We'll I like Super Ultrawide 32:9 Displays but if I we're to buy a monitor that was 16:9 it would be the Asus QD-OLED 32 inch 4K Display or wait for the 27 inch 4K version that should be available soon. If Asus is too expensive for you go MSi versions of the same panel.
Based off his obviously keen understanding of both dispay technologies and the manufacturing process of the monitor showcased in this video, I bet he would reccomend a CRT.@@ignaciosevil1944
The Best of the 4k QD Oleds would be the Asus. You have now the option for 27 inch if You are intro it. If You don't care about the features of the Asus the go for the MSI which is the Best price to performance. For 1440p go for the W Oleds with 480hz.
That's an understandable call, but it might not be the best. They've had their fair share of issues with newly launched products, and they rarely innovate outside of using the latest panels. Since all monitors use the same panel, why not buy the one with the best price or the best features?
We agree that glossy coatings have their downside, which is why we introduced this model with Gorilla Glass. It significantly reduces the intensity of reflections, which is the main downside of glossy coatings. Yet it has the improved sharpness and contrast that users look for.
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS BRAND! This brand is 100% a scam, and there is a very high chance they will take your money without ever receiving the monitor!
Monitor ARM is avtually good! Delivery times… not so much. I did wait their normal lcd varisnt years. The monitor itself has been fine but about three years from preorder to the deluvery is bit much.
This isn't a "generic" white label monitor like is offered by many other brands, and in fact, offers a superior lineup of features when compared to brands like LG and Asus. Additionally, its price is incredibly competitive at $899, with its closest competitors coming in hundreds of dollars higher.
LG sell the same panel at same price to everyone… so Dough can not sell this much cheaper. The other just have higher profit margins. Actually Asus or MSI can make these cheaper because they make them more aka volume adwantage. They just sell them at higher price.
Because this model starts at just $899! You can buy the DP 2.1 version with a full docking solution for $1,299, which is still a very competitive price considering the unique features it adds.
Scammers. It's been a year and a half but I still haven't received my monitor and probably never will. But you're still looking for new suckers who will give you their money.
Which we would argue is an advantage. The effect of the matte coating is canceled out in the bonding process, and the resulting performance of the Gorilla Glass is superior thanks to its DXC coating, which significantly reduces the intensity of reflections without introducing grain.
It is the best option available. LG sell same panel to everyone, so the only option to get anything else than matte, is to put someting to the top of the original matte one. Based on this test… it does work! Only if LG start making diffrent panel, this is the only option.
@@dough_tech The issue is there is still grain/ haze especially on the subpixel macro shots, it would've been amazing if you could've done true glossy like you did with the LCD. ASUS got a glossy WOLED panel direct form LG panel. Why didn't you guys go this route?
@@xm3405 LG only offers the glossy coating on their "old" panels. It is not offered on any of their current-gen models, which is why we had to create this alternative.
@L4J4 I think it'll be possible with full bandwidth DP2.1 and DSC. OLED technology is improving very rapidly we will get 4k 480hz OLED very soon. 500hz QD OLED 1440p monitors are already announced.
@@Decki777i got an aw3225qf when they came out last year so it's to really to upgrade for me but another year or two a 480hz 4k oled sounds like a dream. I don't care much for more brightness since I get headaches regularly on my current monitor in hdr after hours of gaming. Its really just motion smoothness I crave.
@L4J4dscs issues with blackscreens ate fixed. Its visually lossless since it's only mild compression. UA-cam compression sucks because it's compressing at 1000 to 1 ratio. Dsc is only a very mild compression. Less than 4 to 1. Without dsc your limited to about 3 feet with display port 2.1. Its hard to tell if not impossible which 3rd party cables are actually certified to use the full bandwidth of dp 2.1. For at least a couple more years not having dp 2.1 is an advantage right now.
Was really hoping it would be cheaper than the C4 42".. but at 1100 considering you can get the C4 for 869 on sale.. Maybe now that C4 is not on sale anymore, someone looking for a smaller screen might go for it.. But honestly this should have been cheaper than the C4 42" so it would be a no brainer.. Price+company rep+no stand same price...
It depends on your needs. Starting at $899, we'd argue it offers much better value than the model you mention, though we've removed some connectivity options to offer such a competitive price. If you were to compete our flagship model, which offers DP 2.1, 100W USB charging, and a variety of ports, we'd say our model is better, and it comes in at the same price as Asus' model.
I literally have a stash of money put aside for a worthy upgrade from my PG27UQ. I am just waiting on the right one. I’ve tried the CX, C2, UCDM and 32UQX. All had huge issues. I’m praying CES unveils my next panel.
Looks kinda washed out in the HDR side by side compared to the MSI QD-OLED. I can't help but to feel like they wanted the highest brightness reading for marketing purposes, at any cost.
Colors will look slightly different on WOLED compared to QD-OLED due to the nature of the tech. However, we are working with The Display Guy and other reviewers to improve the monitor's performance as much as possible. These brightness measurements are possible without affecting the color accuracy.
They can not unless LG start making, or Asus make the same as Dough and clue the class in too… and gnoving ASUS that extra class would cost a lot of extra… So possible, not likely and not cheap!
They do, along with a few other brands, but they're using QD-OLED panels, which have their own downsides. They also offer a glossy 27" OLED, but the glossy variant is only available on the old generation panels, not on their newer ones. This is not a fault on Asus' side though, as LG does not offer anything other that their matte coatings on their current-gen panels.
It isn't a glossy coating, which we'd argue is a benefit. You can see its superior reflection handling in this review, while not as good as a glossy coating in terms of clarity, it is far better than the matte coating it usually comes with.
Can't wait till we get MicroLED. It will be such a game changer, not only in terms of image quality and brightness, but also in refreshrate. The highest hz display in the world is the Hisense OP136DE, which is a 7680hz microled TV... but it costs over 100 000 dollars
Micro led has been 10 years in future a long time… so fife yers in future it still is 10 years in future. The problem us manufacturing… how to make leds small enough… not solved… that us why thry can only make 100”+ size! Alligning even to those big leds is really hard, that is why those 100”+ microled tvs cost close $100000! They are really hard to manufacture! So even if they manages to make smaller leds ti even 65” size… (what they can not do yet… maybe newer) the msnufacturing of those 65” tvs would be even harder than those 100”+ size, so the price would be astronomical! You can see how allmost imposdible it would be to make even smaller size! What we can do is to hope to see led minitors that has little bit more zones in the future… Not real MicroLeds.
Dude chill the F out. This is NOT the only 32" Glossy 4K OLED you can buy, it's the FIRST. CES 2025 is literally starting TOMORROW. There will be a lot of new monitors to come.
Looks like I'll be sticking with IPS until 2030 at this rate. OLED's piss poor brightness is just an absolute deal breaker when you work during the day and aren't a gamer in a cave.
This isn't the usual glossy coatying you'll find on other monitors. It uses Gorilla Glass which reduces the intensity of reflections, solving the main downside of glossy coatings.

What would you go with?
Just be warned, Dough has a terrible reputation for actually fulfilling orders, got scammed out of a monitor back before they changed their name (previously called Eve Spectrum) and wouldn’t even give me the refund, had to issue a chargeback from the bank to get it.
Dough are scammers.
@@TheXGamer213Did you participate in crowdfunding? Where exactly? And how did you get the money back?
Awesome video! What of the issues you mentioned in the video do you believe would/will be able to resolved through firmware updates?
HDR EOTF tracking & setting amnesia at the very least.
Samsung G60SD or this monitor if I’m using it for Warzone?
Not worried about the price. I care more about motion handling and brightness. FPS limitations don’t bother me as I don’t reach 240+ on Warzone in 1440
I know OLED is the new hype but are we getting any better 1440p/4k IPS monitors?
Does this one has a build in Fan like the LG, or is this fanless?
It uses passive cooling through its full aluminum build, so no fan!
Bit sus that you keep advertising products from this known scam of a company.
They glued the Gorilla Glass to a already Matte Coating instead of just making it pure Gorilla glass... 🤦 Yeah this does not solve the problem. No thanks. I won't be buying it.
U weren’t gonna buy it either way loser 😂
You seem to know about displays, what wouldnyou buy in the current market for a monitor?
Yeah i wouldnt buy an expensive monitor thats not from lg or asus
That's an understandable call, but it might not be the best. They've had their fair share of issues with newly launched products, and they rarely innovate outside of using the latest panels. Since all monitors use the same panel, why not buy the one with the best price or the best features?
I want to get glossy but I’m worried about the glare people talking about
Why would you want to advertise glossy? Since when is that no longer rightfully seen as bad? xD
So it's not 4k 480fps?
No one made that
@da3sii That's what the headline implies.
it scares me how thin the monitor arm looks
That way it doesn't bring too much attention to itself! It really is sturdy enough tough, thanks to its aluminum build.
Monitor ARM is avtually good! Delivery times… not so much.
I did wait their normal lcd varisnt years. The monitor itself has been fine but about three years from preorder to the deluvery is bit much.
how bright? capable of daily driving for productivity and content production?
I thought I just found my end game monitor, and these comments aren't giving me any hope 😭
Samsung 500hz oleds coming out this month but Samsung has the worst QC on monitors so...
Cost too much for generic brand. =\
From which you will get no costumer support, they will actually flip you off
This isn't a "generic" white label monitor like is offered by many other brands, and in fact, offers a superior lineup of features when compared to brands like LG and Asus.
@@dough_tech Too bad it is a scampany.
I can hear Homer Simpson going dough once the pos starts to flicker and dies 😅
I’m still waiting on mine, since 2018. Hopefully I get mines soon. 😂❤I believe
Well, they didn’t send me monitor or refund
Glossy monitor hurt my eyes after a while
sounds like a you problem
Have you calibrated your monitor?
@@Pensioner1203 sounds like a you problem
4:44 you know what else is massive?
What🤨🤨
Why dp 1.4🤦🏾♂️
Because this model starts at just $899! You can buy the DP 2.1 version with a full docking solution for $1,299, which is still a very competitive price considering the unique features it adds.
Anyone buying this monitor knowing the BS this company has pulled for years, has a high chance of losing their $
There's the same chance of losing your money as with any other product you buy on Amazon or Best Buy, which is basically 0.
Everyone say it with me. STOP giving Dough/Eve any press until they fulfill preorders and give refunds
Scammers. It's been a year and a half but I still haven't received my monitor and probably never will. But you're still looking for new suckers who will give you their money.
Disclaimer: this is "gorilla glass" placed over a matte coating not true glossy.
It is not offered on any of their current-gen models, which is why we had to create this alternative.
i live for that "allegedly" 😆😆
Why arent anyb27 “ being compared?
Isnt 32 to much?
Dough?? No thanks.
DP 1.4?? HELL NO!
Wait for DP2.1, this monitor will be obsolete tomorrow.
I have an Asus pg248qp 540hz TN 1080p monitor I'm waiting for a 4k 480hz monitor it'll be a big improvement.
Requires too much bandwidth, but with DSC could be possible? that would be nuts though.
@@veilmontTV Good news then
Was really hoping it would be cheaper than the C4 42".. but at 1100 considering you can get the C4 for 869 on sale.. Maybe now that C4 is not on sale anymore, someone looking for a smaller screen might go for it.. But honestly this should have been cheaper than the C4 42" so it would be a no brainer.. Price+company rep+no stand same price...
Tvs are allways cheaper…
Compare the price to other monitors that use LG panel… They cost $1300+
So the ”size” does not matter… price vise.
Is this monitor better than that $1300 Asus?
It depends on your needs. Starting at $899, we'd argue it offers much better value than the model you mention, though we've removed some connectivity options to offer such a competitive price. If you were to compete our flagship model, which offers DP 2.1, 100W USB charging, and a variety of ports, we'd say our model is better, and it comes in at the same price as Asus' model.
Dude you’re gettin’ a dough!
Nooooooooo
Thank you for pointing out & confirming the grain issue. That is 100% a dealbreaker for me. Hope the G5 and MicroLED do better.
Hopefully Asus releases some Glossy 4K W-Oled's with the positive reception from 27" DMG 🤞
They can not unless LG start making, or Asus make the same as Dough and clue the class in too… and gnoving ASUS that extra class would cost a lot of extra… So possible, not likely and not cheap!
I thought asus made a glossy oled
They do, along with a few other brands, but they're using QD-OLED panels, which have their own downsides. They also offer a glossy 27" OLED, but the glossy variant is only available on the old generation panels, not on their newer ones. This is not a fault on Asus' side though, as LG does not offer anything other that their matte coatings on their current-gen panels.
@ arent you guys knowned to scam people out of their money and never deliver?
you should pronounce Woah-led instead of "W-Oled"
BS and you know it. All they did is applied the gorilla coat layer. That doesn't make it glossy woled at all of a sudden like the LG C4 for example.
It isn't a glossy coating, which we'd argue is a benefit. You can see its superior reflection handling in this review, while not as good as a glossy coating in terms of clarity, it is far better than the matte coating it usually comes with.
The MSI 165Hz is the best bang for your buck, we aren't hitting 240fps consistently for another 5 years.
this test is wrong, light is in front of QD
He did it on purpose. They sent it for review!!!!
Good lucks on the warrantt xd
Chinnese man dont play games.
We're based in Germany, not China. 😄
This is a scam company dude....
I just bought the alienware, which has an okay coating but it’s not true gloss.
I will always appreciate the "boofing" comments.
Too bad it's a 32"
Waiting asus ‘s dual mode 27” 480 ,240 4k
10 bit
Need curve
yikes
screw oled
Dude chill the F out. This is NOT the only 32" Glossy 4K OLED you can buy, it's the FIRST. CES 2025 is literally starting TOMORROW. There will be a lot of new monitors to come.
Pg32ucdm clears
Looks like I'll be sticking with IPS until 2030 at this rate. OLED's piss poor brightness is just an absolute deal breaker when you work during the day and aren't a gamer in a cave.
only dp 1.4 that is a problem since the new gpus will all come with dp 2.1, thats why you shouldn't buy this monitor
2.1 version is releasing soon.
And bc is Dough/eve and for whatever problem you have with the monitor you'll be ghosted. They truly suck.
I want to get glossy but I’m worried about the glare people talking about
This isn't the usual glossy coatying you'll find on other monitors. It uses Gorilla Glass which reduces the intensity of reflections, solving the main downside of glossy coatings.
