I have this computer for like 5 years and it still works like a pro!

Had mine for over 4 years now. First thing I did was removed windows and got Ubuntu on. Cool, quiet and reliable now. Put in a extra 4gb of ram to assist with video editing and its been sweet. I use this unit for overseas travel and get about 4 hours battery.

I have used Windows 8 on non-touchscreen Laptops and Desktops, and I have to say it is a pleasant experience. The people that complain about the 'Home-screen' are just finding something to complain about. The desktop from Windows 7 is easy to access, and the Apps are just a additional extra. However, I have been looking to a tablet or a touch screen laptop, for the most part just for content consumption, and maybe sometimes a bit of office (not a huge amount). --- See next comment.

I watched this because this seems like an ideal choice:
    Lightweight (relatively).
    Small and easy to carry.
A massive hard drive space for my day to day use.
    Quick to boot up.
    And most beneficially; a TOUCHSCREEN.
As I said, Windows 8 is a 'pleasant' experience, nothing to fault. However, I believe that with a touch-screen, a user can further their experience significantly. My top two choices would be this Vivobook, or a Surface with RT (as well as a Touch Cover). --- See next comment.

This laptop is one the best laptops around for cost conscious ultra-book users who want to maximize the experience with windows 8 and its touch screen capabilities.

I like how people don't tease the reviewer for his accent. People gazing at Galaxy S4 reviews are pretty rude in the case that there's an english speaker with a foreign accent.

    1. The price is cheap, design is good and it is a touch screen laptop.
    2. It can expand until 8GB memory.
    3. It is an ultrabook with less weight.
    4. Only problem is battery.
For me, I recommend about this laptop because later I will also buy this laptop. I was waiting about this laptop since Asus releases this laptop for sale. And keep watching about the buyers who bought the laptops and listening about the problems. Except for keyboard and battery, the rest is good. Battery is short life, and keyboard is little bit, but for overall, it is really great :) Comment in here if you face some problems. If I am free, I will help you guys to solve :)

Yes, it is important a touch screen.
I bought the new N56VZ, and I will miss a touch screen because the Windows 8 is very demanding in this aspect.
This is an evolution that the OSs needed, and Microsoft gave it to us. In one year, we all will be touching things.

Considering it's a Windows 8, I would definitely pay a little extra for the touch screen option. The UI for windows 8 seems like it is made for that reason.

So far for me as i already use this laptop for 3 years the only problem i know is the reliability. The hinges were loose over the years. I had ever meet with a hard drive failure. But good things is it is cheap and the features are superb. It has a best trackpad ever that i doesn't need to bring a mouse everywhere i goes. It just function beautifully like a mac book but its running on windows. The touch screen also great. Like iphone. Well i can say with the price i buy in Malaysian ringgit is RM 1899 which close to
    RM 2000 is worth it.

I don't need to run any legacy software to be honest. I literally want something for videos, music and light gaming entertainment on the go and whilst at home. I foresee it being used purely for content consumption, at home, or whilst travelling. I do not think I will need to type much either.

Touch screen is not necessory for a 'laptop'. It is not a tablet. Is it available without touch screen & w8?

A sticky point came out from no where inside my touch display on my 6th day of using it. Sent back to the service center and according to them, I am not the first person having this problem, seems like many others who are using similar laptops are sending back too because of this.

i dont like the touch screen laptops.. i think that's what a tablet is there for. a tablet is good for those simple web browsing things that you do frequently throughout the day like checking email. the touchscreen makes these tasks much more efficient and as a tablet is small, it is easy to pull out and get to work on. a laptop is much heavier to carry around and touch abilities don't really feel natural in my opinion. when doing more complex tasks a laptop is preferable but the touch is uneces

The intel HD 4000 graphics chip isn't really amazing but it should even be able to run skyrim at 40fps avg. But again i'm talking about stuff like minecraft or small indie games maybe gmod or whatever. And yes I still have windows 7 so if windows 8 doesn't have gaming compatibility then sorry i didn't know :/
