Sad that we officially lost Dr. Julien (Zane's dad), I enjoyed him a lot in the last season so it sucks we couldn't see him, especially in a season like this! But hey, with all the stuff we do get (a lot of which was introduced in this very episode) I can't complain too much.
Really the love triangle stuff was the main problem many had with Season 3. Cole didn’t need to suffer for something he had no intended involvement. And I do think the teasers made me think Season 3 would be a bit darker in atmosphere, but that’s just personal thing. Either way, this was a good return to the show, and it would only get better.
This is so random and uninteresting but I built a timeline for Ninjago. For the sake of not spoiling anyone that hasn't watched the whole show and Bloom too I'll just say up until this point( and this is my own opinion built after analysing the show and the statements and just common sense). I believe that the pilot would have happened in January of 2011 and S1 right after somewhere in March of 2011, S2 would pick up right after that in the beginning of April, but since season 2 was always having a mini time jump from each ep I think that the final battle happened in the first 10 days of June 2011. S3 seemed like it had a bigger timeskip than anyone realizes so it's probably in April 2012. Remember this is my opinion so don't hate if you disagree, just feel free to say what you think or your own timeline in the comments
I wonder how much time has passed between Seasons 2 and 3. I say at least a year given Brad is still a kid, but it could be longer since I don't think a year is long enough to build Borg Tower and turn Ninjago City into New Ninjago City.

Of course the final is one of the best in the series but that doesn’t excuse the odd writing decisions that made. (The awful love triangle🤮) Anyway, just happy that your enjoying the show! Funny part about this season - it was initially going to be a special that was only 45 minutes long.
That's why so much happens this episode.
More specifically the season was released a 4 separate 45 minute specials over a year.
