A reporter not afraid to get his hands dirty! Juan thanks for the "in depth" Orville reconstruction reporting! We're appreciative of the care Kewitt and the California DNR are doing to prevent a future Dam emergency! Kudos for giving Juan access to allow the public to follow the progress of this massive public works project! 👍👏
No holds barred reporting, what a wonderful idea. Mainstream Media totally miss out on that concept. Congratulations Juan and the Works Team at Oroville from Melbourne Australia for a candid and thorough report. I am compelled to follow the Oroville Project to the the end, it is so massive and important.
Congratulations, Juan, on a consistently outstanding, technically accurate, family friendly, chronicle of the Oroville Spillway repair project. Your body of work will be referred to by the engineers and dam-builders of the future. It's obvious that the Kiewit Engineering and DWR team respect you and appreciate your professionalism. Great Job, all of you.
Another great report, Juan. Also, It was a pleasure to see how you were treated with respect throughout your visit. Your factually accurate, straight-forward reporting over the years has earned you a lot of respect from the team members and project leaders. They know you understand what they are saying and will present it in a balanced, informative way. To be able to visit and have boots-on-the-ground in the way you did shows their respect.
In my wildest dreams every documentary would have this level of personal interest and detail.. Absolutely outstanding work as always Juan
I have to say Juan's reporting from day one on this project has been outstanding. By far the most comprehensive, objective, and compelling piece of journalism on a story like this I've seen in quite a while - and all done without the resources of major news outlet! This series of videos will provide an invaluable historical record for generations to come. If anyone deserves a Peabody Award, it's Juan Browne. Good work, Juan! And thank you.....
Thanks so much, Juan. The wall of pictures from the original build take me back. Spent every summer in Oroville visiting Gramma and we never failed to go out to the dam and see what had been done the year before! Glad you got boots on the ground even as much as I enjoy the flyovers.
So refreshing to see actual journalism. Intelligent questions with no agenda. Gets honest answers and full access to the site. It also keep those of us with nothing more than a passing interest watching every video for the last year and a half. If only the so called professional journalists would figure that out.
I'm sure Juans regular job pays much better though lol.
Excellent Mr. Brown. Better than the MSM.
Thank you.
Bravo Juan! I think a lot of people have been waiting for weeks to find coverage THIS EXCELLENT. Thank you for all you bring to UA-cam!!!!!!!
Not sure how I got started with watching Juan's coverage of this disaster/project, but I've been captivated for well over a year. From someone in the UK, I'm very impressed with American journalism - unlike here, you guys don't treat the viewer as though we couldn't understand nuance, technical detail or practicalities. It's very refreshing,
What a bold concept in news reporting. A reporter with a brain and intelligent reporting, not a jerk with an agenda. Thank you Juan for your coverage.
Bronco Billy BINGO! a concerned local looking out for the rest of us.
Yikes, it looks like there is a lot to do in 42 days!
This is such an important project and Kiewit has been very impressive so far, and so is your reporting, Mr. Browne. It's been a pleasure watching all of this unfold.
The inside look at the project management piece of the job was very interesting. The engineering on the project is fascinating but so is what they do to manage that ant hill of activity. For a guy that makes his living flying a triple 7 and whose hobbies are flying/outdoor related, you have tackled this Oroville reporting far better than people that claim this as their profession. Your reputation within Kiewit is well deserved! I've thanked you before and do so again. Looking forward to Part 2.
Thank you for keeping your reporting real and truthful. I've been watching your videos since February 2017. I'm amazed by the engineering marvel and scope of this project. Looking forward to part 2
NICE JOB, JUAN!! You're an asset to CA, and the world! This was 10,000x more informative than ANYTHING I've seen on mainstream media the past 20 years, at a minimum ... and this was just PART I !! Thanks Brownie! 😊👍👍😎
Absolutely fascinating. Nowhere is this type of information available other than the blancolirio channel. Bravo.
Hats off to you Juan for accurate and truthful reporting.
Probably the best no-bullshit channel on YT. Even the music is good.
Big smiles from you, big smiles from me - this will end up as a very comprehensive report. Thanks to you for this and thanks to the various crews for all their hard safely done work to this point.
I know we've all enjoyed your reporting on this project but I would just bet you that those folks love having someone up there who is actually asking intelligent questions.
The coordinations, scheduling, the boots on the ground getting it done, really one impressive project. Oh...and the REPORTING!! with Blancolirio's ace reporter, ("who is that guy") puts it over the top!
This project is fascinating. It's such a huge responsibility I don't envy keiwit engineering. Thank you for keeping us up to date with it. You do an excellent, factual job.
Far more interesting than "reality" tv. Thank you for the hard work.
Yes!!!
It is regrettable that my BS in Int. Bus Mgmt. didn't prepare me to be a part of this rebuild in my home town; but glad to see a thriving workforce dedicated in the rebuild... always fun to watch.
Very good job Juan. Also well done to the workers doing this HUGE job. The safety director also deserves kudos. Well done by all involved. Keep up the good work.
Thumbs up to everyone involved in this project!! Your camera views Juan really ring home the size of this operation and I'm so impressed with your reporting. There's a part of me that hopes it rains like heck in the future and we all get a chance to see this monster in action. Looking forward to Pt.2.
Thanks for all you do!!
Brilliant reporting of this huge rebuild! Thanks for you impartial factual raw reporting without all the bull! Cheers from New Zealand
Hats off to you, Juan, for your clear, concise, no nonsense, no BS, coverage of the Oroville spillway rebuild project. You deserve an award for a job well done. For pure enjoyment, nothing beats your family outing videos, but the Mighty Luscombe flight school videos with Captain Ka-blammo are a worthy second. Many thanks for all of it.
Always the most concise factual and pertinent information about the Oroville Project. The mainstream media should take lessons from you. Thanks Juan you are the best!
Awesome job Juan, you have done an extremely good job accurately reporting updates, the media could take lessons from your videos!
Incredible unfettered access reporting of the progress of Orville Dam Project. Most reporters can only dream to do the job that your doing Jaun.
That's what it takes to get big projects done, so many moving parts everyone has a smaller job to complete. When you drive by the completed result look at it always be proud that you were a part of a project that has a daily effect on so many people.
greetings from the UK. You gals and guys all restore my faith in the USA. You can do BIG engineering and you can report its progress factually. Please don't let he-who-boasts get involved in it. I am so looking forward to seeing the spillway in operation at some point. If I can I would like to come see it in person when it is finished.
Awesome report, I can see why Kiewit was chosen for this job they are extremely well managed and professional as is your reporting Juan! Looking forward to part 2!
Juan thanks for the comprehensive reporting on the rebuild of the spillways. You are what a reporter should be and there are only a few that can compete with you 😉👍. I follow you since the beginning of the disaster. We need more pilots as reporter in the MSM. My opinion is that you are the only one reporter on this case that is respected by Kiewit and DWR for your honest and to the point stories. From the Netherlands I give you thumbs-up
Thank you Juan for an excellent coverage your professional approach is outstanding. What we want are the facts, and straight from the horses mouth as you are presenting them. Much appreciated.
Fascinating, and quite a compliment from DWR to our favorite vlog reporter! :)
Thanks for these videos! They are so informative and go way beyond the short sound bites seen on major news outlets. They also allow a much deeper understanding of all the construction problems, solutions, and overall plan. If you're into how these major construction projects are accomplished, these are the videos to watch!
Juan,
This is a totally fantastic update. Outstanding coverage and reporting. Clearly you have the deserved trust of the state, the contractor, and the public. Thank you.
God bless
Paul
ps Love your 'call sign' on your safety vest!
Awesome report Juan! Cant wait for part 2. Had to laugh when they were asking for an autograph and someone commented "Everyone knows you". Your comprehensive coverage of this project is unparalleled. I have been following from Kentucky since the beginning and have really enjoyed all of your other videos of family and aviation related topics as well. Don't know where you find the time but please know there are lots of people who enjoy and look forward to your videos. Best to you and your family!
Thanks Marty!
I too am following from Kentucky Marty!! I love Juan's no BS approach. I've been following from the beginning also. Love it!
As a retired union carpenter (Local #33) that worked for Kiewit on the 'big dig' in Boston, watching this makes me want to come out of retirement and boom out to California to work on this impressive job. Kiewit was a great outfit for getting it done on time and with great safety. Heavy and Highway const. is their specialty, employing laborers, carpenters, ironworkers, operating engineers in that order. GREAT REPORTING, JUAN!
Robert Tuss I was surprised they don't have a mass housing camp for the crews. Must be paying out a huge chunk of change in living-out allowance to them. Impressive project !
All these people are My Hero's I get goosebumps thinking of the work they are doing
So very amazing!!! I hope sometime in the future I can watch the new beautiful spillway in action. The emergency spillway will just have to remain a marvel without use hopefully. Thank you so very much for your faithful coverage of all these going ons of Oroville spillway and reservoir.
Extremely interesting look into a giant project! Thank you Juan and thanks to all the people on the project!
This project has really become world class . Very impressive.
I imagine that construction companies from all over the globe are watching this project closely so that the necessary parts can be reproduced at other dams. Both repairs and upgrades, as well as new builds.
IMHO, *Kiewit Engineering* is setting the standard, and doing so with no injuries. Impressive indeed.
Without you Juan, there are many people who would have never known just how much detail has gone into this spillway project.
When I first heard about the emergency evacuation, I started looking around on YT to see what the big fuss was all about. I watched bits and pieces of several videos, and quickly learned that most of the people making videos about it, had no real idea what they were talking about.
Then your video came up in the suggested video column and I clicked on it. It was detailed, informative, and professional, so I watched the next one you did, subscribed, and just kept watching.
I've learned a lot, and even though I live in Missouri, and normally I would not have stayed interested in a project way out in California. Especially after the emergency was over, the caliber of your reports has kept me returning to your channel. For over a year and a half now. Not just the Oroville updates either. I enjoy the flight videos, the Motorcycle videos, and the camping & vacation ones with your family. You are a blessed man sir, you have a wonderful family, and it is a pure pleasure to see parents so dedicated to their children and their education.
If the only coverage of this project had come from the Lame Stream Dinosaur Media, people all over the world would know very little about the true nature of this engineering marvel.
All they would know is that while the cause of the spillway failure may never be fully understood, the media's focus of investigation centered on a mysterious Green Spot somewhere on the earthen dam that, (in their opinion), was likely the main culprit.
Hear hear David - I couldn't have said it better! 👍
Agreed from up here in Oregon.
Same here from B.C. I haven't watched all season so now get to binge watch and see it progress like magic. We have lots of dams up here, all using tech from the 60's and 70's.
I hope B.C. Hydro is taking notes.
Wish CNN and most of the mainstream media could take a lesson from a great and properly reported project. Great job great content 👍

Outstanding Piece JB ... Superb!!!
Another great job. Really putting the supposed "journalists" to shame, Juan.
It is stuff like this that restores parts of my trust in mankind. Thanks for this great update Juan and nice to see you are sort of famous there!...You earned it.
As always, good to have your input on this incredible project. You have really developed a solid working relationship with these builders - makes for effective reporting. Thank you.
Great job Juan! The very best voice on the incident and the rebuild by far. Thank you DWR for the drone tours also.
Enjoyable to see that even without being an official 'press' rep, proper reporting without sensationalist rumormongering can get you invited to a location, instead of just getting fed press conference packages.
Thank you again for the clear, concise and trustworthy reporting. I know Kiewit gave you their time and exclusive access because they knew they could rely on you to get the true and factual story out to the public. Your reporting always gives me better incite on progress and I love the photos in this report, there is nothing like getting up close and personal.
Interesting on the "white boards"! We use them too in the oil well servicing business. We transfer the info to spreadsheets and reports. It is the best tool in the toolbox for scheduling, coordinating and seeing the big picture. Well done on everything, Keiweit, DWR and Juan!
Wow thanks for this great boots on ground update , as a retired form work carpenter and steel fixer from down here in Australia have been watching with great interest ,
This is the only report of Oroville that I trust. Very well done! I wish that all reporting was done in this way.
Tanks again Juan another great report, and another demonstration of American Can- Do attitude.
Great reporting Juan! I really appreciate your ongoing “Oroville Updates”
Hi Gary! From the Gary at Lifetime Fitness!
Any time the subject of Oroville dam comes up among my engineer friends I let them know about your channel, Juan. When they're impressed by my knowledge of the situation there I have to admit I got it all from you!
A fine & highly informative progress report, Juan.… up to your usual outta the park standards. 👌
Hats off (no pun intended :-) to Jeff & the DWR lady, too, for being able to answer right off the bat any question you pitched at them.
Good job all round guys. 👍👍
Great job Juan! Clear, straight forward, honest reporting.
Another outstanding report. Thank you for keeping us informed and these Boots on the ground reports are great!!
Super job, Juan!!
You are truly a "Renaissance Man" with your knowledge of engineering, aviation, and your skill as a journalist!!
What a great experience that you get to be there.
That press pass is in the right hands for a change!
Keep it up!!
You are a great reporter. Better than the other news.
I found your channel by chance some time back and I have to say that your reporting concept and overall presentation is outstanding. You put mainstream media to shame. Definitely one of the most interesting channels on UA-cam. Also, thank you for introducing me to Arum Bedrosian, his guitaring is awesome.
Juan you knock it out of the park all the time no matter what the subject is I've been waiting for the in-depth on this project thanks a bunch can't wait for part 2...👌
I've been following this project from the UK right from the start and always enjoy your updates, Juan. You ask all the right questions (as far as I'm concerned at least) and do a really professional job. Give up the day job and do this for a living, mate!
You've earned the trust of DWR, Kiewit and the public. Enough said.
Juan so appreciate your Oroville Dam updates.
As a software engineer, I had to laugh at the project management. I saw that part and thought...hey, they are Agile... daily scrums with three week sprints! LOL. Great job as always Juan! Thanks!!
glad to get the answer of flags, this was on a few folks minds. The reason of the flags now makes sense, for the crane operators of the world , maybe some of us look foolish, but now educated !
So I'm in Michigan and have no idea how I found the Blancolirio channel but I absolutely love it! I had followed the news on Oroville and once Juan started his series on the project, I've been glued to the updates. The theme music, all of Juan's familial interactions and his concise reporting make these updates enjoyable. (And he knows his stuff!) Thank you for a stellar job!
Thanks for watching Gui!
I have paid attention to your informative videos & have learned how much labor (engineering, manual labor, etc,) go into a project like this. Thank you for covering the subject well. ~ from Cut and Shoot, Texas, ~ Richard&Barbara.
Wow...who's in charge of all those white board markers and coloring in all those neat & tidy little squares...LOL..!! Seriously though...What a colossal and super complex job and they are able to keep those hundreds of individual jobs all flowing smoothly and in the correct order & timing. I'm always astounded by that....and no serious accidents...incredible..!!
Thanks so much for your excellent reporting Juan. I'm sending a link to my nephew who heads up a college engineering program, with an emphasis on concrete,so he can share this with the students. Very educational and inspiring!
Excellent job Juan!! I think by the time this is all over you will be world famous. Look forward to the next report. Thank you.
Hi Juan: Thank you for your fine efforts here! If I could afford to fly internationally, I would feel so much more secure knowing you are in the cockpit of my 777 aircraft. God Bless for your efforts for all of us, and for your continuing Love for your family, you will reap the rewards going forward I can promise you. Thx, Bill
This is incredible. It’s no surprise they gave you this tour. You deserve the opportunity Juan!
Quality reporting, factual reporting, and extremely respectful of the workers.
Another great job reporting the facts. Wish we had more journalists like you! Thanks again Mr. Juan Browne.
I live in PA and really have no connection to this topic other than I've been following your vids from the beginning. You've kept my interest for over a year on this project from your excellent reporting. Best video yet!
3:13 Your renown journalist to the dam workers/office! That's awesome!
Best reporter in the nation! Juan Brown
This kind of coverage is why I started tracking the Blancolirio channel! Great work Juan!
Another informative report, Juan, thank you. And a thank you goes to Kiewit for providing the tour and all the good information they passed along,
No way! They gave you a safety vest with FLIGHT on it.
Wow, seeing all the scheduled work on the white boards was very informative and really interesting to see how the project progresses with that format.
All that design build for an emergency spillway that is hopefully never expected to be used. I guess you never know though.
Great report as always Juan!
Looking forward to part 2.
See ya.
Haa, no, that's my vest from work...had to be 'different'
@@blancolirio oh I thought it was because you are 'special' 🤣🤣
Great reporting Juan, "no unnamed sources", just factual!
As a person retired from the construction trade for 45+ years and having followed your reporting of The Oroville Project, I can safely say that Jeff Petersen is a very knowledgeable engineer and a great leader. My praise to Kiewit, their staff and all on site employees for "high quality and on time work", thanks! ....13
I've worked in both mechanical and civil engineering and Juan is one of the very few who takes the time to get it right. Great job Juan.
8:23 YEAHH that question was from me !! Thank you so much Juan !
Thanks Martijn!
Thank you Juan! Great journalism. The progress on this project is amazing considering the conflict of the politics involved. Good job to the people who are doing this work 👍🏻.
I love your reports! You are documenting history.
Greetings from Germany ...
Another excellent and extremely informative video Juan! Thank you for your service. You are truly a rock star sir.
Juan makes reporters look stupid---he has done some of the best reporting and I have been watching him from the beginning of the construction on the dam---thankyou JUAN----
Excellent work Juan Brown. I think you may have yourself a profession as reporter in your retirement years. LOL I like others have no actual connection to the Orville site but have been captivated but your excellence in reporting. I always look forward to the footage from the mighty Luscombe. Keep up the great work, you obviously have the trust of the contractors and DWR officials.
Great job reporting all this, Juan! I look forward to your updates. Great job the team there is doing!
Love the time lapse and original photos. 👍🏻👍🏻 straight up awesome video, you’re the best you tuber and I’ll be waiting for the continuation of the story and future endeavors from you! 👍🏻
A lot of VERY GOOD HARD WORK the workers should be Dam proud of their work I am impressed
Very interesting! Glad to have your back at Oroville!
Outstanding, thank you for keeping us appraised on the progress.
WONDERFUL AND UPLIFTING TO KNOW THE DETAILS.... THANKS JUAN.... GOOD JOB....
