This is sweet. I love that the price is in Canadian too 😄 I'm going to grab a green one now. Is there a reason you dind't add more than multiple 5-pin outputs? I've been shopping around for a midi thru box.. this would have been beautiful!

Ahh thanks and yes a few reasons! cost, footprint (on pcb), enclosure size, writing code to support different i/o connections and a lot of other things. Its a one person project too so I figured keeping focused on what can be done with just 5 pin midi in and out would be more than enough for me to try to tackle. Its a deceptively complicated device when you take into consideration the buttons, screen, sd card and getting everything to work in concert with each other without causing delays.
Thanks to the kickstarter I can spend some time revising the pcb layout. Still sticking with just 5 pin midi in and out but there are quite a few i/o pins available after the changes have been made...hopefully others will be able to use midi goblin's hardware or software as a starting point for their own devices in the future.

@@midigoblin I found you randomly on youtube a few days ago, was like I hope the price wasn't going to be $200 and when I saw it grabbed it right away.
@@radfaraf nice! $80 seemed like a fair price. Trying to keep the project accessible as possible...affordable, simple hardware + pretty modular code. Really hope tinkerers get a kick out of it.
Are those prices close to final? I want one of these, but I can't afford to back the Kickstarter before it sells out. :)
I intend on keeping the pricing post-kickstarter at 80 and 90 dollars CAD. But inflation and sudden trade policy changes could obviously effect the price....launching a new product during an election year is a bit problematic apparently...
