just came across yall's channel. It's awesome how much you pay attention to the ethics of trout fishing - don't keep 'em out of the water for too long, handle them gently, etc. Thanks for setting a great standard.
i know im asking randomly but does someone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Ephraim Cash thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks! Your excitement is only surpassed by mine when I am lucky enough to touch fish. I live in Wisconsin and blessed with great waters. Tight lines!
Wow, nice video guys. Nothing better than a beautiful day on a beautiful creek catching fish like that. I'm 57 and I guess living vicariously thru you guys, oh the memories. Cherish them. I too think that brookie was a native, I personally believe a lot of people underestimate the possibilities of what hold over stocked fish can do. One other note: I've found that when fishing creeks like that, that wearing camouflage long sleeves and hats really does help even when working upstream. Tight lines guys.
Yeah luckily the flows were pretty good that day so the fish weren't too spooky. But I'm glad you like the videos! I know that day will live on in my memory for a very very long time. Not just because of the fishing but behind the scenes we had an unbelievable amount of fun. Thanks for watching!
Yeah it is honestly pretty insane. We had actually gotten pretty discouraged after I lost that fish and had stopped recording. That is part of the reason I wasn't recording the hit on the biggest brown. Glad you liked the video!
I lost two fish yesterday, got one up to the waters edge and as I went to net the fish, it got off. However, I am counting that as a catch! Three on, two of good size and another strike that missed. A fun day all and all.
Great video as always guys ! Love seeing those monsters in our smallest native nets. Proof they can handle bigger fish than they are designed for. That creek is one we have spent many hours and miles on! You guys were very blessed that day. Many have fished that creek for years and never have seen a brown like that. Also those are for sure wild brook trout from the New England strain, not Appalachian native strain. Some think it could be a hybrid between the two. Again great job and keep it up !
We definitely enjoy using the native net! And we knew there was something going on with the brookies in that stream. I could tell that they weren't all native strain but I'm not necessarily an expert on that creek so I don't know the history or if the other species are reproducing. I'd rather be lucky than good! Thanks for watching
I find it so cool that your streams out there share Browns and Brookies. Wild Brookies are wonderful. No natives in Colorado, only Cutthroat are native. But many Brookie lakes and streams have not been stocked for decades. All natural reproduction. My PB Brookie was slightly over 17 inches at a lake at 10,300 feet. Completely wild fish.
I plan on returning the Colorado to try to catch some native cutthroats! But yeah the natives out east are the brookies for us. The browns were all stocked at some point and now reproduce on their own much like your brookies. It makes for some interesting fishing. Glad you liked the video!
The first brook trout looks like a multiyear holdover. I caught one in the North Fork South Branch a few years ago that was 15”. Full fins and pristine. Still an awesome catch on a streamer!
Yeah that's what we figured as well. It definitely wasn't the native strain and had the traits of a wild fish. We caught a few later on that were 100% wild fish but that one was probably stocked a few years back. Thanks for watching!
Great video man. Good point about keeping them in water, in the net, and how it may suck to watch them jump right back into water, but good for the health of fish and stream. Great B-roll as usual. Masters of your craft! Congrats on the PB brook, and GREAT bonus footage. Hope the "strategy" paid off :)
Thanks man! Hate to see the fish go, but love to see them swim away. That is our new catch and release motto. But anyway thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked the bonus footage! Tight lines :)

Just went fly fishing for rainbows and brookies in Quebec. First time using my new St-Croix Legend combo. 😁 Caught my limit both days. Caught a 5lb rainbow with black gnat. Delicious...
Well honestly that brown probably fed mostly on other fish. Whether that be minnows and chubs or the native brook trout, I'm sure he doesn't discriminate. Once the browns hit around 18 inches they usually feed almost exclusively on other fish.
Trust me if you asked the average person here they'd say the same thing. These fish don't get big by being dumb, you have to put in the time and try and find places where others don't fish. Thanks for watching man! And I wish you the best in your own fishing adventures!
Yeah man its pretty awesome! To be fair we've never seen a brown that big so that might be a slight exception. We always see the natives though! Thanks for watching

What are you using? Streamer? fly?
I was using a streamer
Great Video 👌
what waders are you wearing?
They are Dryft Waders and I highly recommend them. I've used several other waders in the past and these are my favorite so far.
Where in this stream would the wild trout spawn? It looks heavily silted.
It is silted in some areas but for the most part it has some good gravel. A majority of the headwaters of this creek are on national park land so it is somewhat safe from heavier sediment load from mining or other activities. I have personally never been in the fall to see if I can find redds or anything like that because it is a pretty far drive from me.
The push 😂 yikes boys
Interesting looking fly rod. Are you using a glass rod?
No this was a redington cross water. I have since broken this rod but it was a good one for the money
Sorry if you’ve answered this before, but what waders you wearing?
Dryft waders! I highly recommend them
Hardman Fishing Adventures ohh ok, curious, do you have a discount code with them?
How do you tell the difference between native and being stocked but then turns wild,🤔I’m confused
It all has to do with noticing differences between certain strains (subs species) of trout. In WV there are two strains of brook trout. The native Appalachian strain and the New England strain. A trained eye can tell the difference between the two and if a brook trout is the New England strain then it IS NOT NATIVE. Therefore it was either stocked by a truck, or (in some cases) stocked fish mix in with the native population and reproduce. Once fish start reproducing they are considered “wild” fish because they did not grow up in a farm. So that is how we jumped from native, to stocked, to wild fish. Different strains, fish condition, and multitude of other factors come into making the decision. Hope this helps! And thanks for watching

Yep... and it isn't a good one!
What flies were you using
In this video we almost entirely used the laser legal streamer.
Browns are usually aggressive eaters and habeen known to eat other trout species (salmonids). Chubs and minnow spp.'s.
Que bonita👍
What is the name of the waders you are wearing?
How such big fish in tiny stream?! Is it spring fed?
I believe so. Although I've never been to the head of the creek

What is PB? How did u know the rookie was a planted fish?
The PB was towards the end. It was the 11 inch native. The brookie at the beginning was planted at some point but we don't count that one.
PB stands for Personal Best. I'm not totally sure if that is what you are asking but that's what it seemed like to me😂
