Does the HEXA have very good isolation ? I'm a musician so for live stage work I need secure fit, excellent isolation, neutral signature and sub200$. I've been looking in Etymotics, Shozy x Neo CP, Thieaudio Legacy 2/3/4,UCOTECH RE-2, Audiosense DT200, Dunu TItan S, Senn IE100 Pro, fiio fa1,magaosi k5, juzera t41,tenhz t4 pro.. As you can see I've done my research, unfortunately most of them are hard to find, do you have any other reccomendations? Thanks!
You can tell how excited Mark is about this IEM by how fast he's talking.
Hmmm, yes truth
I had to check that I'm not on 1.25x playback speed
😂
He kept on calling the Hexa as Zero 😀
I had to bring mine down to 1.75x from my normal 2x playback
Yup, sold, got one, many thanks for the review! I was already curious about it, but even if I wasn't, I would buy it solely to have an even more solid example of your/Mark's target signature, despite feeling like I have a good idea of it from the videos - a reference point.
ordered mine! can't wait to try!
2 hits 0 misses so far from Truthear and with different tunings at that. Impressive.
Yes? I have the zero and i don't find particularly exciting.. I am now undecided between this and thiaeaudio Legacy 4. What you suggest me to get bro?
@@trocadero1965 get this...or legacy 5 the legacy 4 has a really technical tunning
@@cxmxc i Read good things about legacy 4. I am a king of guy that likes the tinhifi p1, neutral but holographic detail ed minimal sounds.. I really love them (at times, like sub bass too, of course) and i have a tripowin mele which is not bad at all for bass,
Aria SE and KZ ZAX. Tomorrow i get delivered the new exciting CCA Warriors.. Let's see. BUT i would like to buy the Blessing Dusk, one day...
@@trocadero1965 actually the L4 has bad extension in general, making timbre for general listening very off, with a not so good soundstage while the pros that is has quite good mids and vocals, controlled bass. Hexa has not as "good" bass but it's tighter, more laid back and a better midrange and extension. Technical wise, L4 has imaging and Hexa has better layering and soundstage.
My problem is I don’t like flashy equipment as much so the entire aesthetic is beautiful to me 🥰
🤙
Been using it for 2 weeks now, it is surprisingly comfortable because at first I had to spend some time to find proper ear tips. I won't talk about sound here apart that I love it.
Hi again Mark, thank you for the link to the Truthear Hexa, I have listened to your review & this looks like the one I will buy, once I have it I will do my own review & then get back to you with my comments, regarding same. .
Hi, thanks for your review, i just received them them, took 11 days.
The best : overall sounding, all rounder and tonality! Exceptional instrument separation, realy stunning. On many iems, mids can fell grainy or unrefined. This is not the case here, separation is so good, even on complex tracks (ex: metal Chevelle, Metallica, etc.) that these are very clean with very good amount of details, no mess no bleed. Almost sure that these are my best iems for that.
No harshness on mids and treble (separation helps). That mids...🤘🤩
The average : Bass, they are tight but not as hard hitting, or textured, as a Fiio FH3 or a Reecho SG03, for exemple (reminds me the Kotori Dauntless with more sub). These are not for bass head (EQ...) but realy clean.
Soundstage is ok, but it increase with wide eartips (even the widdest in the box are not enough large for my ears).
The bad : nothing.
They are light weight, fits realy well, and, yes, they need power!! They shine with something like a Xduoo link 2 balanced.
80€, that was the price for what i got them. When i compare them to many other iems, that's just a crazy bargain.
Hey Mark, love the long form content, very complete and informative, especially your willingness to answer questions and engage with your audience in the q&as/comments. Any plans on reviewing the aful performer 5? The few reviews that are out are saying it competes with things in the 4-500 dollar range. Given I can only buy 1 I don't know if I should get the hexa or wait and save for the performer 5. Thanks for the videos and have a nice day!
No current plans, but we'll see.
Great in-depth review!
So Truthear is going pretty strong, let´s wait for them to get to 300dollar range, everybody be afraid👍😁
This looks like a legit sub $200 set. And sounds like global shipping delays to the US have been easing up lately so hopefully everyone gets their pair sooner than what we’ve seen lately!
Yeah. Just got my pair. Says arriving Thursday morning or nights with Prime shipping
Ordering it now so i can get it tomorrow. When it's Mark's 5 star i'm sold. Getting tired of my bulky Monarch Mk1 and Mk2. My wife took my blessing2 and Dunu SA6 Ultra, and I gave my Mangrid tea to my daughter, so I have to get a quick cheap but good one. Thanks, again to my favorite iem/hp reviewer here in YT.
Lemme know if it works out 🤙
Really enjoy the Hexa. Reminds me of one of my all time favorites, the OG Oracle, but at a steal of a price. Aside asking prices, I would really appreciate to hear your side-by-side thoughts of the two? Thanks Mark.🤙
Noooo I missed It! :c watching the live!
Hope you're well Mark!
✌️
What I dislike from Truthears is that for some reason it's way more expensive in my country than its retail pricing (probably because they're still new). The zero is priced the same as a Moondrop Aria and this one is up on preorder for almost the same price as an s12, will probably still buy it tho 😅
When it comes to female vocals (Japanese singers like Ikuta and Aimer), do you put this above something like the Aria SE? How does it compare?
Hello thx for the review. It's really good for music yes but if we are talking about the game, is it decent for gaming too?
🎉Had just purchased today~impatient to try it lolx
Hexa actually reminds me the most Symphonium Helios shranked down… I know it’s different but… can’t help it✌️😁
thanks i just order a pair for Stage monitoring. i was interested on the blessing 2 but now i can buy more gear with the extra money
HEXA is also relatively easy to drive. I have mine paired to some KZ AZ09 Pro's at the moment. Did have to convert the housing for C-pin (CDC) male connectors on these earhooks to B-Pin by shaving away part of the silicone shroud to expose more of the pins for a secure coupling. Easy mod...carefully took a few minutes with a sharp straight razor blade to shave away about 4mm from the leading edge of each shroud.
No need to go to power mode on the AZ09 Pro earhooks (like I do with the S12's)...so I keep that extra 15% battery life in normal mode (6.5 hrs).
Wonderful sounding IEM's. Between the S12's and the HEXA's...hard to switch back to any of the other myriad of IEM's that I own in the sub $150 range. HEXA's "check all of the boxes" that I prefer.
Hexa vs s12 what you prefer? I use 7hz salnotes zero for reference
@@7wikk S12.
Hey Mark, great video yet again❤! Any other ear tips recommendations? Was wondering how would the moondrop spring tips pair with the hexa?
I think it'l come down to your individual ear. I'm using Final E-type TWS.
@@SuperReview thank you!!
Mad respect for such a product. Just got it but there is a clear and easily heard difference in the Blessing 2 vs the Hexa. So yes temper your hype. It could serve as a backup to your Moondrop Blessing 2, which is still the greatest of all time for me. This way you keep your ears from getting too use to the Blessings 2 if you break up your time between the two.
😂 Best of all time. Sounds like you’re trying to justify your purchase of the blessing 2. Definitely not the best of all time.
Which model do you recommend for live music in-ear monitoring? (Gospel band)
Which is more linear, balanced sounding? I need to hear all frequencies, without too much bass in order to not cover other frequencies. It has to sounds clear without eq.
The sounding to not be fatique or harsh at mid-high frequency. Power handling is also important, and clarity at high volume.
Thank you very much!
I used the Legacy 4 it for mixing, for a good year, but my ears nearly exploded. Yes, I know how to use all the little switches, and used them in every combination. The Blessing is too rich for my blood, it better be dramatically better than the KXXS, if I’m gonna shell out for another moondrop with a silver shell. I have perfect pitch, as a happy accident of birth, and I never see, read or hear any reviewers who mention this, as an aspect of analyzing sound. It means I can transpose a song, in every key, naturally, without theory or training. I’ve had training, but it actually slows my process down tremendously. I love the 7hz timeless, surprisingly, since most beloved iems, don’t tend to be as beloved by me. The Oxygen is another winner. Better than the New Hana. Shozy form 1.1 and the Shozy 1.4 are also among my favorites. Ikko OH10 is still a winner as well. And there will always be a special place in me heart, for the Moondrop Starfield. Every time I use these, I am surprised by how much I still love them. They are unique. They may not be the best, which I get, but they have something special, it is a holistic quality, in which no one single aspect is stellar, but somehow, all put together, it is special. I think Moondrop would be wise, to continue an the idea of painting the shell of each set, ( I know it’s not hand painted, but they did a great job of making look hand painting, chips and all) instead of the rather generic quality, they seem to be settling for. The name, the aesthetic, were so effective, and appealing. The shells look much more generic now, as they only decorate the plate, facade. Iems tend to be more of a listening experience, which is why I love them. You feel so engrossed in the sound, the way you do watching a great film, or reading an excellent book. It is so rare during these difficult historical times we are living in, to find this kind of attention to detail, originality, and ingenuity, it so refreshing. Creativity, as a whole, is being terribly stifled by psychotic political correctness. Your reviews are always my favorite. Thanks for doing them. -Seattle, the entire poop-needle infested, once beautiful, gracious, now self loathing, city
I thought these was going to be a pain to wear as it looked very similar to the KZ ZS6, but I'm really impressed with the fit
Mark is super*hyped for this one!!
True.
Thanks for a great review Mark,
Hmmmm another pair for the collection? Interestingly the cable looks like a campfire cable?
Campfire cables also nice and lightweight, but they do a two-core wind instead of a braid.
I went with the Kiwi Ears Cadenza, got two actually, and the Zero 2's which I'm using for work and currently to watch this video. Crazy how much you get for the money with IEM's. Makes me wish I had held off from getting the Sennheiser HD800S's.
Hi Mark !
If I already have the EW200 and the S12 OG, which one should I get to complement my collection: the Cadenza or the Hexa ?
Edit: in the live chat, Mark put hexa above er4xr overall
Thanks for covering the ety er2. I've moved from it to the er3se for the detail and dynamics. Is the hexa on par or worse in that regard?
I don't believe ER3 to be superior than ER2 in terms of dynamics. detail retrieval, maybe. Hexa should be better than all of ER series
I actually love the er2s FOR the fit. The noise isolation and the seamless side sleeping is just something I can’t get from any other iem.
I feel the same way. They’ve actually ruined traditional IEM’s for me in terms of fit! I even use them on stage for live use and they are unbeatable.
Mhh, i might have to try them as a sleeping iem. I've been searching for one after my moondrop quarks broke, and my etymotics have been in storage.i really disklike the fit, but it just might work for sleeping

They're pretty uncomfortable as far as fit goes. I did manage to get around it by using Final Tips on them.

happy thursday evening haha, thats a mood, becoming huge fan of yours, you speak sense in a senseless world....once i realized im for no reason saving money on my biggest passion - music - (and he devices that enable me to enjoy it) i think im ready to go nuts fck the money i mean, why should it sit on my account when it can be in my ears blessing me every day? i purchased my first IEMs month ago and so far loving it, just the overear design with chinstrap seems perfect, the bigger build doesnt bother me at all which i was kinda fearing...i thing im buying FH3s next week or so, the FH1S i have now are gonna stay in my workplace, theyre definitely not balanced soundwise but most of the electronic produced music/beats i play on it sound much better then earbuds i used so far, cheeeers
🤙
I can tell they draw heavy inspiration from Final Audio IEMs, especially the A3000,VR3000,A4000. The form factor, and angled shell, everything looks it's a cousin to Final Audio. I like it.
90% of final iems are tubular
May i know which is better for kpop , jazz music , and female vocals?
The gizaudio galelio vs the hexa vs zero red.
May i know which is better? Or do you have any suggestions?
My budget is under USD 100.
I did saw the gizaudio chopin but the price is too high for me.
Gizaudio music preferences and your music preferences i feels like i have the same preference. So yeah. Hope you reply to my comments thanks.
The Hexas or Zero blue? I would use them for gaming, music and zoom calls. Appreciate the help!
Veeery nice release from Truthear. Great review too!
Compare with FH3 or KATO?
Thank you, i am enjoying one now
Comparison to the Volume and FH3 and L2 please
Wow! I ordered the Hexa last night and they shipped already. That’s a fast turnaround for IEMs.
Sus, it's almost like they knew.
@@SuperReview They just know who deserves VIP service I guess. 😼
Same, they have sent to me after 5hrs of my order placement, so far only one eartips bought. Guess, I am a VIP.
There out there a neutral ( or flat) iem's with some bass emphasis? 50-100 euros? Trying to find some bassy iem's but without loosing mids and heights, good for music with female vocals (Enja-let's go for example)
So Hexa is a budget blessing 2 with 70% or 80% of the technicalities from the blessing 2?
Does anyone know how this holds up compared to KZ ZSN PRO? I know not a balance comparison but just wanna know the difference. Thanks.
thoughts about this compared to the moondrop aria?
Another gr8 review Mark, which has the better techs, this - or the Fiio FH3?
FH3 has stronger separation / imaging and better bass quality, but treble quality goes to Hexa.
Nice review as ussual. I wonder if Truthear HEXA can be compared with TIN Hifi T4?
Based on tunning, the t4 has a more treble flatter sub base...t4 is an excellent item specially for female vocals, and the hexa seems to be also a pretty good IEM, I think buy both, and you have 2 different tunning for different occasions - incredible you can have these, the t4 and a planar for under $300
Are you able to get a good seal with these? Or do you recommend buying different tips? I will be using these for playing/recording live instruments/drums, so I need decent sound isolation
Good for me, but tips are personal. For Hexa, I like a wider + shorter tip than usual.
I ordered TH Zero, but Hexa was in the box. Looked at the review, apparently I was very lucky to get such great iem for the price of a Zero :)
Score.
bro on x games
I just had Truthear Zero & this one came out. Is it a worthy upgdare? I do like signature of Zero (with slight EQ on treble) & style quite more, but what about technicalities & timbre? Does mids and treble on BA perform better than dynamic driver?
If you're happy with Zero, be happy 🤙 Hexa is very different tuning, more neutral and midrange focused. I wouldn't say much about timbre between them.
I just got the hexa and really like the sound of them! However the nozzles are big for my ear canal... Any alternative suggestions?? Dig the neutral sound profile, helps me to eq my sounds when playing live gigs as a keyboard player!
For this sound signature, no, no real options that are easier to fit. If you have other tips you can try, often changing tips will help with the fit and comfort.
I know that it may be like comparing apples and oranges but I am going to ask anyway. I own the Sony WF-1000XM4 and I set the eq as suggested and I am happy with that. So finally my dump question: using EarStudio 100 DAC and Hexa, would they sound better?
I haven't compared them, but I would personally probably prefer the Hexa.
I'm almost pulling the trigger on these coz it seems I would probably love the tuning here. How does it compare the entry level planar tho? Like dioko, or tinhifi P1?
Better / fuller tuning on the Hexa, but not gonna have the same wow factor with details.
Hi Mark, really appreciate your review, very informative.
I am a newbie about this iem hobby, so I really want to get some advice from you if you don’t mind .
I just bought a ie200 recently, a great earphone I have ever use.
With my Shanling m3ultra(Thanks your review again), I am pretty satisfied with this combo.
Then UA-cam just show this video to me today.😂
My question is : Should I get the hexa when I already have my ie200?
Will it provide a different type of tuning/taste to let me enjoy my music?
Sorry for my poor english.
Keep up the great work!
They are sufficiently different that, if you're into the hobby, it's definitely worth having both. I like the variety.
Thanks for this interesting review. How would you compare them to the olina SE?
Haven't heard it.
Hi Mark.
I hope you are well.
How much better would you say the Hexa is than the Tin C2?
Much much better or a lot better?
I know they are different sounding earphones but was just wondering what you think.
have the same question about this
I've owned both, if u don't mind the price difference, hexa is step up. Bass on C2 is stronger but hexa has enjoyable bass (not lacking) . Hexa beats C2 in every ways IMO.
Kinda late but how would you compare the Hexa with the other $80 IEMs, the Aria and Titan S, maybe in technicalities (imaging, soundstage)?
No major differences on those fronts.
Great review, Mark!
✌️
Could you review the Tangzu Wan'er that recently got released?
How is the treble/upper mids compared to the dunu titan s? I'm considering getting either the hexa or titan s but i'm a bit worried about them being too bright/harsh
Titan S comes across brighter to me.
How is it compared to the Moondrop SSR?
Nicely Done

Hi Mark! I'm currently running a Moondrop Aria, do you consider the Hexa an upgrade to the Aria?
I like Hexa better, but "upgrade" is a loaded word. People who prefer more bass will probably prefer Aria.

If you were to compare the Aria SE and hexa what're the differences of both and which one would you prefer
I think hexa hits his target closer than aria se. So i guess he'd pick the hexa
I found this to be a rather small, very comfortable IEM. Right now I prefer the Truthear Zero Crinacle. The Hexa lacks the low bass of Zero. A whole dimension is lacking. I can't listen to amapiano with Hexar. It's like half the song is gone. I have only tried each of the stock tips. There seems to be a problem with female vocals. But, problem might be my ears. @@sadecebiri395 6 months in and I think I got so used to the C2 mech warrior that I tend to lead towards the "bright" side 😅. So my next bet would be to go to Simgot EM6L soon because the EM6L is both bright and has a wider soundstage according to most reviews.

Is it good for gaming? games like Call of Duty?
I got mine today and i am speechless and confused at the same time.. I have the IE 300 for listening to music when i go to work and i bought the ER4SR in 2017 for gaming, i like them both. The ER4SR is like cheating in games, the loud footsteps sounding zzzzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzzzzz like closed high hats is giving me a big big advantage in PUBG for years now, It was my first real IEM and it will always have a special place in my heart and it beeing a 1 BA driver IEM is super cool.
I bought the IE 300 simply because its a Sennheiser no big feelings good quality, well known brand just something to go to work.
I watched this review and said to myself.. You know what.. You got an old ER4SR 1 BA and you got a IE 300 1 DD.. Get the Hexa for 80 bucks and dip your toes into hybrid land..
BOOM..My first reaction was.. How is this 80 bucks IEM sounding twice as good as both of my three times more expensive IEM's, i mean i expected the Hexa to be alot better then my ER4SR wich is 6 years older and only has 1 BA driver but i did not expect it to literally crush both of my much more expensive IEM's in every single way lol
Thank you.. You made my decision alot easyer with this review so again.. Thank you 👍👍👍
