+Kimberly Christiansen-Morris I purchased the tulle used in this video from Gifts International, an online website. I like to tulle at Hobby Lobby, with the exception of the black and hot pink 25 yard rolls. (Those colors seem stiffer than what I normally use)

Hi first I want to say I'm a big fan...love your work and now I'm inspired to make different tutus for my baby.i have 2 questions and hope you can answer. the 1st one is. Is there a kind of specific tulle you use? my baby has really delicate skin. I bought the tulle from hobby lobby and it's not too nice on skin. as I was cutting the material it let out a lot of dust partical. my chest was hurting and my nose was irritated...is that normal? should I use a mask or can I bursa different type of tulle...thank you!!!
+maria sanchez Hello! Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, some tulle does give off a yucky dust. I have found this especially with the Hobby Lobby fuchsia pink 25yard tulle. Unfortunately, I don't have a really good answer. MOST tulle does not have that dust, but none that I have used is really soft and comfy. Your best bet is to probably find a soft tulle sold by the Yard and cut it into strips yourself. Hope that helps. :) Thanks for watching.

Hi! This tool was a little in the middle... I prefer softest tulle you can find because it's easier to work with and it tangles less.

Magaly Camilo a women's mannequin will probably be too big for a child, but if it's a small dress form it should work for an older child. Try "Gifts International" online for cheaper tulle.

No, although I have never worked with tulle fabric that didn't have some stretch to it. This technique also works with fabric tutus.

+Joel Babilonia For newborns, I usually make skirts 5-6 inches long. When I first started, I just did a google search for children's skirt lengths, and used the measurements I liked best. Hope that was helpful. :)

+Torrianna Hampton head band yes. halter top from HL and they have the crochet halter top in the fabric section you can get cut by the yard and the crochet head band in the yarn section that you can cut yourself. idk if u already found out this info but just encase i wanted to respond

omg that in so cute Im having a princess party for my 3girls and il trying to make tutus for them but I didn't get the 6in tulle I got the really big bulk tulle "it was on sale" lol but how do I cut it my kids are 4yr, 6yr & 7yr olds
+MsKittycatmeow86 The best way to cut tulle on the bolt, for this style of tutu, is to roll it up like wrapping paper, and cut 6 inch wide strips. You can then apply the tulle to the crochet headband like in this tutorial. You will just trim it to your desired length when your done...or before you apply it. Hope this was helpful! :)

+Marisela Gallegos This tulle is 6" high. You can typically buy this tulle in 25 and 100 yard rolls. Most craft stores carry it in 25 yard rolls. Walmart too.

It's kind of a one-size-fits-most kind of tool. I make them with elastic also. I do like that there is no elastic showing, even when that tutu is stretched, with this method.... Both ways are super cute. :)

Hi! Yes, you can do more than one layer, check out my Princess Tiana Tutorial. If you google 'crochet headband' several options will come up. You can usually find these at your local craft/fabric store too.
Is Michaels okay for all materials
Michael's is not my favorite place to buy tutu supplies. I know they sell SOME tulle. Not many colors though, and I'm not sure if they have the headbands, but most craft stores do. If you can't find the crochet headband, check out my Emoji tutorial, I used a ribbon instead. If you live near a Hobby Lobby, that's a better bet, or order supplies online.
Also, some beauty supply stores carry the crochet headbands.

Yes. Because I use 3 pieces of tulle at a time, a good way to estimate how many pieces you will need is to count the number of holes in the 1st layer of the crochet band. :)

+Nanaafua Asamoah Assuming you are in a small Juniors size, you will need roughly 3-4 25 yard rolls per girl. So a total of at least 12 rolls of 25 yard tulle for 4 tutus. If you all are using the same colors, it will be cost effective to buy 3 100 yard rolls from your local craft store or online.

If you live near a Hobby Lobby, the tulle goes on Sale every other week. If each person gets 1 100 yard roll you'll be sure to have full fluffy tutus and not run out of tulle. On Sale, or with a coupon, you can get 100 yard rolls for just $5.
