Basically Peter took all the credit from the other two writers Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice for the success of Phoenix Nights. They were not happy with him. Peter was one of the writers, but Dave and Neil were the best writers. Dave decided not to do a third series with Peter since him and Paddy McGuinness had abandoned him and did Max & Paddy’s Road To Nowhere. Peter once asked Dave to be in Road To Nowhere but Dave refused.
I still love watching Peter Kay, but him just taking credit like that is just unforgivable.
