I think the symbolic death of my parents happened close to 14 and 15 years old to me. I stopped caring about what they thought of me because 1. I felt they were inflexible towards some things and 2. Because I felt like I have become something really close to an adult so I had to do what I thought was good for me and bear the consequences of all of my actions because I am well responsible for them.

Facing fears builds confidence and boldness. That is why the Bible teaches us “the fear (honour and respect) of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Then treat them in the same way as he said about learning about why you care what your parents think.

It irritates me how he touches my soul and I involuntarily cannot ignore his advice. I feel in bandage to Jordan and God.

I think u care what your parents think bc the majority of your wisdom since birth was dependant on them teaching u. So therefore they're your point of reference. It is until u grow to know more than them, that u can see yourself as equal to them and question their judgement. It's very contradictory of JP to say u shouldn't care what your parents think bc he also says respect your father as well as the almighty father aka god. So ofc there's a level to which u care what he thinks.
