Lol. I think you enjoy creating your own solutions more than going to the store and buying something that would fix it quicker.
I'm 99% sure you knew they sell plastic risers you can use to glue onto the flange to fix this exact issue

They sell some but not realy fit, any ways need some correction and modifications.
This case was not standard flange.
Plus I enjoying what I do.
