I have nine 72 & 73 musstangs and all are 351 C engines. You should close the choke to get it started. Also loose the cup of gas. My neighbor died when one he was trying to start backfired and burned him. You can take one of the thin plastic water bottles. Put fuel in it and screw the top on. Take a razor blade and cut a slit in the cap and squirt fuel in and if it backfires the flame cannot get to the ruel. I started one that sat 38 years. I have a 73 yellow vert also that I drive about every day.
Your wrong. The 351 Cleveland engine had a oil problem on number 5 rod. There is a work around for that problem it is runs an oil line from the the oil sender with a tee to the front of the engine near the fuel pump. There is a plug that can be removed and hook the oil line there then number 5 rod get the oil it needs.
@@ajw6715 if used hard in racing applications you can use a restriction kit to limit oil to the cam/ head and prioritise oil to crank It keeps no 5 alive
Discovering those trucks and muscle cars is an amazing experience so tnak you so much for a video that I've already seen three times en enjoying myself as much as possible. As a new subscriber I surely put a nice thumb up.
That's really nice to hear, I am glad you enjoyed the video! I certainly had fun working with these old toys and John and I are planning some more videos for the future. Thanks for watching!
What is wrong with yall cranked on it fo ten min before one of you finally got the idea to give it a little throttle and you gonna stop using a solo cup the first time u get a fireball in you face this should be a video on what not to do starting a car wow!!!!
LOL, 60 MPH. You sure do not know much about cars. That truck would run 85 MPH all day long. I get a kick out of you guys. I had a 1949 Studebaker and Ford both would run 100 M. P. H. I had a 51 Studebaker that would run 110 M.P. H.
Loved the history of all the vehicles. You guys cracked me up. Thank you.
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!

Your friend should make his own channel to share progress of the mustang and his other projects
Good idea, I’ll tell him!
The original Eleanor from the original Gone In 60 Seconds.
Although the first Eleanor was a hardtop
Eleanor was a 1967 mustang
@@jonathanatterberry6374 in the original movie gone in 60 seconds(the one without nick cage) Elanor was a 1971 mustang even tho they call it a 1973.
Any of these for sale?
Oliver and Alice Chambers were both tied together and many parts would exchange with each other
