    If I remember correctly there is a shear pin of some kind on the compressor pulley to keep it from blowing the belt of the compressor seizes. If the pulley spins freely it's because the compressor was taking too much force to spin and it sheared the pin. At least that was my understanding.

    Given that the system is empty after you replace the compressor, AND the fact that the compressor always runs, I have to assume it's bad to run without a charge as there is insufficient lubrication for the compressor?

    You need to check AC Compressor Control Solenoid Valve and make sure it works. Compressor can still be good but Solenoid valve is bad.Also compressor on audi are clutchless. Also common problem on audi is pressure switch.

    I am mechanically inclined and have worked as an engineer aboard navy ships; however, I am not a mechanic. After watching your video, I realize that there will be a significant amount of work to change out the injector cups. There also can be areas where overlooking small things can result in big, unexpected problems. With all that in mind, I'm going to take my time and methodically go through the steps you outlined. So, here goes. I'll let you know how it comes out.

    These are bad for PCV system failure. For some reason coolant is routed through the PCV valve, and is made of plastic. The unit can crack and allow coolant into the oil. You gotta fix it immediately or it'll get ugly fast!

    Having an issue where I pressed in new bearing and It came apart? And it had so mutch play to the point where the hub came out the knuckle assembly itself

    • @thatlldogarage
      @thatlldogarage 4 місяці тому

      Don’t forget to isolate the load of the press to only the outer ring of the bearing. If you push against or support only the inner pieces it will break the bearing. Good luck!

    • @thatlldogarage

      It was a challenge for sure, not enough room to swing. For the rear cups I switched to a metal hammer since you can’t hit it very hard. I was still able to hear and feel it bottom out. Good luck!

    I like your video ('course I like Cubs), but you really do need to watch a couple of Cub videos; because, the Cub is a MANS tractor not a toy, It was made to work ... give that poor girl some gas. Plus, you need to now that's not a hay mower. The way to cut overgrown grass is with a raised mower (just like your yard) and maybe mow more than once. That ole girl is plenty for that job.

    My Great Uncle had one just like it pastel green with a sun visor. He lived to a month shy of his 100th Birthday. He drove it up till about age 95 we use to walk to his house for a visit back in the mid 60's that back seat sure seemed huge to a 5 year old as he drove us home. He had given the car to one of his sons later a grandson wrecked it my brother and I looked to see if we could fix it there was way too much damage.

    Hi from merry old England. I like the way you do things, thanks for sharing. About to do engine out, fettle and back in on one of these too. Question. Why does the clutch need to come out and the partial dismantle of the gearbox need to happen to remove engine? Does it provide access to disconnect shaft or something, or is it just to provide manoeuvring space? Am I missing something else? Thanks. Looking forward to install pt 2. H

    • @thatlldogarage
      @thatlldogarage 6 місяців тому

      Hi, thanks for your comment! To be honest, engine removal was about two years ago so I don’t remember precisely why. But I can say that I have been following the manual closely and my guess is that it directed to pull those components apart for some reason. I am planning to resume engine installation in March so there should be some more videos soon. Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!
