Guava take it and hold introduction

Here I am teaching Guava to take and hold an unfamiliar object (a hand broom)
I am using affection as my reinforcer here and am adjusting the way I pet her to encourage her to hold for longer periods of time
Towards the end I also capture a chin rest behavior. I’ll use this to clean up the hold in the future, by having her rest her chin in my hand while holding an object in her mouth
This will serve as a part of her retrieve training! I will add in her going to get the item herself and holding still until she is asked to release it.
