Great presentation Stephen. Good to see that you recognise trouble around you and steer clear ! Always interesting to hear the history of old buildings and premises long gone. Keep looking after yourself and stay safe.
I moved into my new flat and heard sirens every night. I thought I'd moved into Kick Off Central, then I realised I was just close to the local Blue Light Hub 😊
Another great one Stephen. I started watching your channel when you put the 'mean streets of Blackpool ' out and watched you ever since . Keep up the good work Stephen and be safe 👍👍 ooo can't wait until July 😄 woohoo 🥳🤚
I used to love Blackpool, in the 80's I used to come often when it was a bit more prosperous. Happy memories, all the chippies served very cheap & delicious steak puddings, preferred them to fish & chips. It was when those snake guys used to drape a large Python around your neck and try and charge you for a photo in the rough pubs. The good old days! Great upload. 👍
They've got to drop and clear them back streets soon. Them buildings are beyond repair and look terrible. Must say you don't get many bad chip shops on the coast as they are all competing with each other. Great video Steve, cheers.
I clearly remember the Dr Who exhibition. The theme music was on a loop and they had a Cyberman 'human statue' that would suddenly move and jump out at you 😂
I used to live on trafalgar Road in late 80's my parents owned the lornick hotel. Such a shame seeing it in that state now. The drain pipe is still claret and blue from when my dad painted it in Burnley colours.

We were in Blackpool yesterday visiting the new museum which was fantastic, and a police car went past with sirens going and we all said ‘It’s kicking off in Blackpool😀
Remember the coach station very well. We once came in at the North Station and we didn't have a clue where we were. The Happy Scots bar was open when I stayed at the Royal Seabank in December.
I believe the Home Bargains has also been a Wyndsors World of Shoes as I remember seeing one of the trams painted in an advert for it about 20 years ago.

If memory serves me right, that empty bit of land was a hotel mate, I think it was knocked down before I moved back to London. Thanks, Stephen. Some of them streets do look a bit of a sight, but then in the next street it can look much better, some of the buildings are nice, lots of different styles. Shame that market is no longer there. It always puzzles me at the lack of trees as most seaside fronts are lined with trees etc, but then I suppose that could be a bit problematic for Blackpool having the trams along the seafront as they do, pieces of falling branches and falling leaves would probably just be problematic and become a nuisance.
6:28 Just a road cannot have been any significant building there for sure. 😮The Happy Scots needs a lick of paint could tell it was a former cinema before you mentioned it. What shame. 😢Awe the chevrons on the building are like a clapper board when making movies. You can see where the blue paint has not covered it.😊
It’s a shame that a few hotel buildings and businesses have closed but it’s like that in every english sea side town Blackpool is better than most resorts

@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool That's the thing, there was very little Doctor Who related stuff in it. It was mostly historical waxwork horror scenes they couldn't get away with in Luis Tussaud. It was John Haigh the Acid Bath Murderer (with naked lady in the bath of course) and the rear end of a crashed ambulance with lots of corpses and the bed fallen out the back of it and everything covered in blood, there must have been about 10 of these scenes.
The Hopton Hotel used to be called the Colosseum Hotel. Used to go to School with a lad who's parents had it. Tyldesley road used to be a premier holiday area with some nice Guest Houses.
