"He doesn't realize that every word he's saying is 'I love you.'" This! Not just this season, but even back to season 1, when Colin talks about Pen, all he says is, "Pen is my favorite human being, and I can't imagine my life without her." He really is a giant dope about his feelings for her.
Genuine question: When did he talk about Pen in s1, 2? Edit: I remembered one time - On a staircase he said how loyal she is always to him, when he reterned from his visit to Lady Crane. But that what he said to her, not about her to someone else.
It’s in the way he looks at her in S1 and S2 as well. When you compare, it’s literally there the whole time. He just thinks it’s platonic but it wasn’t (especially not in S2)
I think you guys are the best reactors, you actually understand the characters, their motivations and personality, the details...i'm so impressed. Smart people always make me happy! Thanks for this!
You're my favorite reaction team for Bridgerton bar none. Lol. I'm really enjoying this season and looking forward to the chaos that's going to ensue in part 2. I love P/Cs closeness, and the new realizations about each other are giving me life. You are 100% right when you say there needs to be more romance in the world. They should green light the s*** out of romance from here on out. 💜
I have watched so many reactions - many of which I've enjoyed a lot - and listened to a bunch of podcasts for more commentary (most of which I haven't) and this is by far my favorite. Entertaining as hell AND you actually understand the characters and what's so compelling about so many of these moments on screen and take joy in it all!
The Eloise/Pen situation, I totally understand Eloise and love how she’s still trying to protect Penelope but I honestly believe that Penelope’s betrayal saved her. She was being too careless
Miatta & Marissa (even the names are fire together) are the chaotic, entertaining, bright and sexy duo of reactors we needed to enjoy our Bridgerton obsession even more!!! Love, love, love!!! 🔥🔥🔥
I don't think you guys get that Penelope saved Eloise by taking the heat off her from the Queen who was convised Eloise was Whistledown. Penelope told no lies & protected the Bridgertons.
10:10 yes! Featheringtons family are gold of the show! They're The Entertainment of the whole show. Love them, hate them, but they are not boring for sure and that's the point pf them. Iam super focus everytime Featheringtons are on screen. 😁
I loved the Queen Charlotte spin-off. It was the best Bridgerton story so far, in my opinion. I don't want them to do another season because that gives them the opportunity to ruin the whole thing. It left of beautifully. That said, I wouldn't mind a young Lady Danbury spinoff (where the young queen would feature if the actress wanted to come back for a few scenes). She had her thing with Lord Ledger but it would be nice to give her a once-in-a-lifetime-love, even if they don't get married in the end for whatever reason. It could introduce the Smythe-Smiths as the B plot. Maybe have Violet and Edmund when they're friends before they marry.
Oh, I will not stand for Mr. Finch and Mr. Dankworth slander. They're goofballs, but they're off to the side happy for Penelope and supportive throughout the season.
Literally cannot watch Bridgerton without your reviews Miatta, you two are fantastic!!! And you are right, men are definitely watching these shows. Check out the reactions from Syntell if you haven’t already, he’s awesome! Between you and him I just thoroughly cackle all night!
I may be the only one who does not want Edwina with the prince. It just feels too pat and tidy for me. It also feels like it somewhat excuses what happened with Kate and Anthony. Like see Edwina was so good that she reacted well to losing the Viscount that now she gets a prince. It is just to easy to pair off the two single people in the group together.. I would like to see Edwina end up with someone who was hers from the start not someone who wanted someone else first.

I agree with so much of this! Especially since there are so many people who already don't like Colins character and don't understand him, the show runners just dug their own graves. Something you may have edited out but don’t mention in the video is Colin getting jealous in this episode. He encouraged her to go talk to Lord Basillio and that’s fine until she goes to touch him (like to console him). It’s a brief flash but Colin definitely doesn’t like it. And then when she talks to Lord Remington and looks like she’s enjoying herself Colin’s face drops as soon as it’s clear she into it. While the song “Jealous” plays in the background. Then he immediately approaches when Lord Remington is gone to be like “did you like him?” And looks unhappy when she basically says yes. He’s already struggling with some very non-platonic reactions before he even realizes 😅
Both of you are gorgeous! And yes, series like this are high stakes right now. Most people think that Benedict’s story will be next. What is your take?
I really want a season 4 focusing on Sophie's story (i love fairytales, especially when they take a dark turn). For me the Bridgerton men are more or less boring in the books (except for Anthony), so i never expected much from Colin or Benedict. Sophie's story was actually really refreshing to me because so much of it was taking place outside the ton and the palaces and the season. Spoilers *she is basically homeless and fending for herself for a really long time. Like the show could really use a fresh story of someone who is actually struggling and fighting for her life and surviving. Combined with how good of an actor Luke Thompson is and how nice it would be to get more focus on middle class people, servants etc (like in season 1) there is a lot to work with here. Instead we got the same old same old this season. No offence but the reason why it all runs so smoothly and works together is because this story was always in the background, so even now it reads to me as a background story. Like it is just pleasant and white noise while you make a sandwich and do laundry, it does not keep you on the edge of the seat kind of story.
I don't like Benedict's story, it isn't romantic at all, I don't think that the majority of people realise how insulting it is for a man to offer a woman the position of his mistress. It is tantamount to asking her to become a prostitute. In Pride and Prejudice when Lydia runs off with Wickham we are told that the neighbourhood fully expected her to end up on the town.
@@oyaami1874 I haven't read the books but I did get informed about the plots and a lot of them sound problematic as fuck, in specific moments, but this one I can't get behind the general plot, especially with people wanting Sophie to be black. The optics will be disgusting. White, rich guy going after a lower-class girl (she's an illegitimate child, right?), who could potentially be a WOC and also works at his house. The power dynamics are gross. Honestly, I see people saying it's basically Cinderella and I'm offended because Cinderella is my favorite fairytale. It's not except for the whole masquerade thing and the stepmother. But people need to realize: if Cinderella worked for the prince, and he treated her as Benedict does, there's no way it would be a fairytale. Cinderella was mistreated by her stepmother and she wasn't royalty, but she wasn't homeless either. Her father was a merchant. And she never truly wants to marry, she just wants to have fun and they fall in love. The prince pursues her with intent to marry her no matter her station. If he had offered her to be his mistress, no one would like this story. I think s1 Eloise and Benedict had this talk that had a lot of queer subtext. They always teased this, but never paid off. I have no idea what their plans are, but if they do his exact book story, especially when he so far seems like a kind, slutty guy, it's not gonna play well. I have no idea why she even marries him except perhaps for advantage, because I could never love someone who just wanted to fuck me and thought I wasn't good enough for anything else.
I m sure they can erase the problematic plot points from Benedict s character. Like all the Bridgertons are not that great. Like I said in my comment I really enjoyed Sophie and the women characters from the book. I don't know why one of the comment here mentioned deviations from the Cinderella story like that would be an inaccuracy. This is why it is a retelling. People can enjoy Cinderella stories , not everything needs to be a problem.
Edwina was not a brat, Kate was a brat lying and manipulating everyone thinking she's the only one that knows what's good for the other people when infact she wasn't able to know what she wanted herself. She did her sister wrong. On the queen charlotte season 2, i would like a spin-off on Lady Danbury that starts right after queen charlotte. So Lady Danbury is the main character but we still see young queen charlotte and george
You can like one character without disliking another really.. In the show they don't realise they love each other till d end, it seems like attraction even to audience. She warns Edwina against him but is ignored. She tries telling Edwina the reality but is interrupted by the proposal. She thinks what she wants doesn't matter as she decided to consider herself last since when she was Edwinas age In contrast to Kate ,Edwina was sweet and soft-spoken , taken care of, and confident enough to know what she wanted at all time She absolutely didn't deserve what happened, but saying that Kate was lying manipulating when she had no sense of self interest is crazy
I don’t think a season 2 of queen Charlotte would work. I *do* think a Violet/Edmund season would work and they could dip in and let us see young Charlotte and George and young Lady D again.
"He doesn't realize that every word he's saying is 'I love you.'" This! Not just this season, but even back to season 1, when Colin talks about Pen, all he says is, "Pen is my favorite human being, and I can't imagine my life without her." He really is a giant dope about his feelings for her.

Shout out to the De Leons's!
Finally! I’ve been saying the same thing why or no Hispanics on the show especially in real life we have a king of Spain what the heck?
So fun ❤
I just love yall
You girls are so much fun! I want to drink with you. Cheers! 🍾🍷🥃
She thinks what she wants doesn't matter as she decided to consider herself last since when she was Edwinas age
In contrast to Kate ,Edwina was sweet and soft-spoken , taken care of, and confident enough to know what she wanted at all time
She absolutely didn't deserve what happened, but saying that Kate was lying manipulating when she had no sense of self interest is crazy
I don’t think a season 2 of queen Charlotte would work. I *do* think a Violet/Edmund season would work and they could dip in and let us see young Charlotte and George and young Lady D again.
