That is an amazing accomplishment. Great job. Of course it did not really lift up a car. but it did pivot the heavy engine over the front wheels, while they carried most of the weight. Kind of like picking up a wheelbarrow, with the load placed forward. Still a very neat tool though. Color me impressed.
“And for my next trick, I’ll have my lovely assistant hold this hat while I pull a rabbit out of it!” Hahahahaha. I could not help thinking of you doing a magic act when you asked Heather to walk around the car and show there were no wires, chains or jacks under it..... Hope you have a great day Heather, and you too, The Great Skindini...! LOL Whipple
Hi Cecil and Heather!!😀😀 Something that is built too strong never broke!!😀😀 Nice job on the boom and trailer setup. You have needed one of them for a long time!!😀😀 Take care my friends!!😀😀❤❤
what a cool project just what i was looking for at3 in the night :D a little hack i saw a farmer use was replace the handcrank (for the Trailer wheel and the spars) with a nut for an impact wrench. super quick deployment that way and you only ever need that one impact driver
Missed your videos the last week not being on here.😎Great job of engineering building the trailer. Put a end roller across the back end to pull logs upon the trailer.
That works well. Princesses Auto or in the states Harbor Freight, has a truck crane for about $199. that you could add a winch to save some time. But your Crane may have better reach. I really Enjoy the channel ! Best.
That is a very nice build. I made one similar for my friend. It had 3" pipe in the ground 4ft deep with with flat wings metal welded off the side to keep it plumb. It had 2 7/8 drill stem going into that. The top was similar to yours except I trussed the top with some flat strap. And it was fixed with no hydraulic lift. I welded about a 3 ft piece of 1" pipe straight out of the back so he could swivel it. He had it beside his shop so he could load old riding mowers on the trailer to take to scrap. I saw him lift about a 1000 lbs with it with no problem and swivel it around.
I would like to see how the crane us built and attached to the trailer…I have the trailer and Princess & Cdn Tire are not far away for stuff as is a steel supply place, thanks!
And so it should as your Jack is a 8 ton lifting capacity and by dividing by the distance from your fulcrum point by the distance the “a”end of the car is no more than 1/2 ton. You are laughing but if you were not a fitter welder I would have worried but because you are an engineer and you would never build anything under built, it’s built like a tank without going overboard. It’s just great to have that gear at your disposal. Saves your backs that’s for sure. Cheers. Btw people may think you did not use the jack but you were using the pressure relief valve to do your lift and if you got it to lift but weighing over the the capacity of the jack then the jack relief valve should have give away I do believe. What do you reckon Cess? Anyway you would never have proved it unless you actually done your maths anyway. Hey just a couple of fitters chatting people! Good to see you back Cess and Heather.
Awesome job! I love seeing “good old boy” engineers like us making quality tools that will be around long after store bought things fall apart. Big question, what did you use to make the pivot point for the base of the crane? It’s got to be pretty robust since that is a high stress area. Look forward to your response. Keep up the great work
Hello, thank you very much. The pivot point is the front spindle off a large scissor lift unit..it's 2" solid round pin with a thick wall pipe slid over the pin. Cheers!
A hook mounted at the base of the crane for a snatch block for pulling heavy or awkward shaped things onto the trailer with the help of a set of removable ramps on the back and you will be set to move anything within the weight limit of the trailer. And a good guess as to the weight you were picking up is about 1200 pounds!
Hello Frank. I thought of that...the only problem is once the weight pushes down on the rear of the trailer the bike will lift up, then I'd need to make outriggers at the back as well. That's a little more work than I want to put into this trailer. Thanks again. Cheers.
I'll bet you don't have three bodies in that trunk which would add another 600+ lbs to that little car which prob. is a 1000 on the rear.. sound like your winch was struggling.. hehe
Keep up with your work but the harder you work on this channel the more it’s going to pay off in the long run lots of up front work I get it just record everything people love honesty

No flex on that trailer frame is impressive.
Outriggers work wonderfully, crane will save your back a thousand times, well done folks.
Cecil and Heather I never doubted your workmanship.
Hello Paul. Well thank you very much.

Now I am very happy that you did set up the outrigger
AWESOME SIR, Never Doubted the Lift or Durability of Your Build💯👍🏾👏🏽 ‼‼‼ Much Love💖and Continued Blessings🙏🏾 Family ‼‼‼
Good morning Skinners and fellow Viewers. Nice to see you putting the lift to the test. Watching from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲
Good morning Lloyd. Thank you very much. You have a great day.
@@SkinnersOffGrid Thanks too. Will certainly do. And u do same. That lift is strong 💪💪
Ha ha very nice, that will do the job for sure. Ok I have to get back to weeding garden already 82 degrees here. Stay cool you two.
That wagon will be an amazing tool in the bush
Thanks Bob. We are looking forward to using it soon.
Thanks for the video Cecil and wife .

Real nice rig! Great job Cecil and Heather! Log picking job has been made alot easier and way more efficient. Tip of the hat to the y'all.
Awesome video Cecil and Heather you can build anything you are a mechanical genius 👍
Holy cow didn't expect it to be that strong. .. well done Bud 💪🍁
That boom is strong good job thanks for sharing have a great night
Awesome, great lift with what ever I had on hand to make this project possible.
That’s working great. Good job guys. Glad to see a video was getting worried something was wrong. Glad all is well. Cheers from Missouri
Good job Cecil, and good job on your land cleaning
Great build, she'll come in handy
Thanks. It should make things easier for us when it comes to loading and unloading. Thanks again.

What a great success on that project.
GREAT JOB THAT WILL COME IN HANDING ON A LOT OF JOBS

Good job on the crane.
No problem at all and safer just don't get carried away with your boom lift.
Looks really good... I've seen guys use a battery drill to make the outriggers go up and down. ;)
I'm very impressed!!
Cicil i knew you can do it . keep up the good work and say hi to Heather she is also very knowledgeable
It'll save putting your backs out ,awesome project.
AWESOME JOB! ...way to go guys!...make some doe!!!! thanks 4 video. be kind.
Most extreme would be with the boom horizontal. But it looks good.
The most amazing thing ive seen homemade
Good morning Jose, thank you very much.
Absolutely brilliant.
Hello, thank you very much. You have a great day. Cheers!
That's awesome what size square tubing did you use
The trailer is looking good
Nice work.
What steel did you use for the outrigger? Inner and outter tubes

That sounds like a very useful unit. I'm looking forward to using this one to load logs for our sawmill.
@@SkinnersOffGrid you will find lots of use for it

THAT WORKS JUST FINE
Good job getter done
Looking good. Kansas God bless
I can lift my aveos rear tire off the ground if u lift by the wheel well ... By hand lol. that winch sounded like it lost a lil life right there!
Good job, but what happens with the hydraulic problem?
Nice 👍👍👍 work
Thank you. Cheers.
That is an awesome idea not only just for logs for pretty much everything how how much do you think that was lifting about a thousand pounds
great video😊

@@SkinnersOffGrid Thank for the reply! Makes perfect sense! I’ve got a similar part that I’ve been holding on to for a while and now I know why!
Get a can of truck bed undercoating for your metal boom , to protect it nice
Thanks...I'll look into that. Cheers.

probably closer to 500 lbs.
I used to dead lift the back of ford tempos in the 80's. as a warm up for racing bmx. lot of punch off the start.
Is there a video of the actual winching setup ?
i like your work hi Heather
neat setup, any info on that cylinder you have on it? princess auto purchase?
Awesome!!
Thank you. You have a great day.
@@SkinnersOffGrid You aswell!🤘
Hi there
Good job.
You say 400' or so 30 times =about 2 miles.
Probably more than 30 times.
Have a good day be safe god bless
Thats amazing, what size winch do you have? ( thumbs up)
Do you have a video of the that crane build
Hello Darrell. I sure do..I think it's a two part series. Cheers!
👍Way to go
Thank you very much. Cheers!
Lol. 😮 Impressive.
...g' mornin' bush bunnies...
Good morning Bob.
What size was the winch used?
Hello, I am now using a 3000lb winch...it's way stronger. Cheers!
cheers
How many pound is the winch Thanks
Hello Robert, this one was a 1500lb winch I believe..I later switched to a 3000lb winch later. Cheers!

Sure make tire changes much easier.

Good ear...I had to replace this winch shortly after making this video, it had a factory defect..it was replaced for free fortunately. Cheers!
What size is the cylinder?
What size is that winch?
Hello Wonda...It's a 3000 lb.
I need one
Hello, they are very easy to build. Cheers!
Hello skinners
Hello Steve. :-)
The ass end of a small car isn't a great substitute for considerable weight. Great build though!
Hello Michael, check out some of my newer videos....you will see that I'm still using this lift, it's still working great for us. Cheers!
