2%. That's really wild.
2% with Toyota 5 seconds faster per lap on a wet track. The pressure was on and Ferrari hang on. Great win for them.
Its an estimation that we see as spectators. We really dont know how much fuel they had at the end. I think he did one extra lap after that. Toyota was pushing behind him, but he got a comfortable gap of initially 35 seconds. So he could save fuel.
It's a limit of energy used per stint, so they would not have been allowed to continue running if they would have reached 0%.
@@LukasGrossar so that isnt percentage of battery in hybrid engine? I mean if that number reached 0, that wouldnt mean that they have no more electric power, only internal combustion and thus would be able to drive but slower bcs they wouldnt have the full horspower?
@@skojuzija I don't know either, they've made racing so complicated!!

As a Ferrari fan, well done Toyota and Japanese people for your sportsmanship x
Toyota dominated for so long. They know how to behave. I love both teams.

The Yankees for real, not!
One of the best races ever.
Even with so many hours behind the safety car during the night, this was a roller-coaster of emotions, I enjoyed it so much.
Ferrari's HYPERCAR Overall Victory Back to back at Le Mans the Dynasty is real!!! 😍✨️🏆🇮🇹🇮🇹
I swear Porsche and Toyota being omnipresent and having Ferrari win is the besh thing of the day

2x in a row now for the ferrari 499P. Ferrari and the 499P have solidified themselves as one of the greats to ever race at Le Mans. Truly a legendary moment that we have just witnessed now.
Yes of course. They can race and also perform kamikaze missions.
@@lesliechua5535 Yeah the penalty should've been harsher but it is what it is. Nothing can be done now even though the Toyota deserved the win. I could see the frustration in the drivers face on the onboard live. Unfortunate.

Le mans itself is better than the entire season of f1. More wild, more unpredictable, more actions and more emotions. Get your wheelies together f1. WEC best motorsport event atm imo
This is a Lighting McQueen moment for Ferrari. 2% is nuts.
The best Le Mans 24 hours that I have watched. I’m so glad I stayed up all through the night and witnessed it all. Good Job #50 Ferrari. That management at the end was seriously impressive.
What happened to the #83 Ferarri with Robert Kubica?

Winning Le Mans with such a competitive field is absolutely incredible.
Congratulations to Ferrari and kudos to Toyota, Porsche and Cadillac for hanging in there and giving the scuderia all they could handle. A hard fought battle and a well deserved win.
Great race, safety car at night was tough but can we talk about how the announcers stepped up and had us all entertained? "Wetter than an otter's pocket." "We lost a racing great a few years ago." "What? I talked to him last week! He's writing a book!" "That's not breakfast; that's a survival snack!"
2% energy remaining. Crazy!! So glad they made it!!
As a Ferrari fan I must admit Toyota and Porsche have been MEGA contenders for all the race. Ferrari won but I don't think there are loosers today. Every team every car every driver despite all odds, did their very best in very difficoult conditions. This race is an instant classic, like Group C era, LMP1 Audi vs Peugout era, we now have HYPERCARS era to be proud of 🏁🏁🏁
it was crazy to see the emotion of antonio and miguel while nicklas was doing the most insane management on tricky weather conditions. absolutely brilliant this race. 51 won it last year and this year, 50 did it! ferrari is amazing and is the team that race with so much passion to the point it makes even the fans cry tears of joy with them. congratulations ferrari!!! you return to le mans last year and won both years!!!
83 you were incredible too. lead the race, got a penalty, dropped to 11 then back to 1 again, you were wonderful to watch!
also alex jacques is a talented commentator. did it in monaco for charles and again at le mans for car 50. love listening to him!

First thank you for showing the 24h. The german commentators were good as always. Thank you also for that.
BUT I have one question.
How did you get managed not to show the battle for P1 in GT3 for full 4h.
The BMW and te Porsche where within 1sec for hours and you only showed one overtake with a delay of app. 20 Minutes.
Instead you showed lonely Hypercars or GT3 back markers.
Really sorry for kubica…83 was the fastest Ferrari there…

Good to see FIA alive & kicking now in 2024 (40 mins to dish out 5 sec penalty). I'm guessing the race director was hoping that was enough time for the average punter to have forgotten the incident with car51)
Honestly, in my book that shouldn’t have been a penalty at all… add in the 40 minute delay and it’s just comical.
5 secs for spinning out the #8 Toyota and causing them about 40 seconds deficit? What a joke. How could it be less than a wait for them to recover and slot in behind?
Forza Ferrari! That was so close with just 2% of usable energy. What a nailbiting and thrilling finish! Nielsen drove like a champ.
Grazie Ragazzi 👆👆👆🤌🤌🤌
Im the true winner of this race. I watched the entirety of that 4 hour safety car stint last night. Jesus christ that was horrible. I can only imagine how the drivers felt. Toyota did amazing, I really thought they will be off the pace after about a couple of hours. Ferrari got lucky they didnt get harsher penalties but as they say you make your own luck.
Edit: I wish the other classes got more coverage though.
Harsher penalties for what ? They got 10 seconds penalty for unsafe release (Ferrari 50), 10 seconds penalty for wrong parking in qualifying and 5 seconds for the contact with Toyota 8 (Ferrari 51), 30 seconds cause of the contact kubica- another car (Ferrari 83). Don't you think they had penalties enough during this race? 😂😂 Ferrari was the best car in dry conditions and even on wet in the last part of the race.
@@sergiomelis6875 Oh I'm not denying they've set the fastest pace. I was surprised 51 Fer only got a 5 sec penalty for the contact with 8 Toy. I was expecting more of a 10sec stop and go. Heck even a 30sec stop and go wouldnt be unfair. Although in the grand scheme of things it wouldn't have mattered since it already took 8 out of the race for the win. To be honest its more on the luck with not being called to pit earlier with their door issue. Other cars got called in much earlier. Nielsen trying to reach the door on the other side was bonkers, props to him but that was pretty unsafe.
The collision decided the race, a 5 second penalty for taking out the lead Toyota that literally gave Ferrari the win.
Don't recall the last time by heart was beating so fast.
The craziest final hours with more drama that anybody could have imagined.
This was such an intense race, way more than Ferrari's win a year back.
i nearly got trough that 24h race. Thank you Eurosport and Bravo Ferrari!

Same weight..same power and Ferrari has NO chance against Toyota….Sad
Ferrari had the same power below 250Km/h had least power gain over 250km/h, and had the smallest "fuel tank".

Amazing Victory at Le Mans. It was not easy and it was the usual mix of rain and very difficult visibility. The challenging conditions make the victory sweeter. Forza Ferrari! Le Mans is the Greatest and most difficult Race in the world. The Tenacity and Passion won over the strong competition!
Competition of both teams made the race cool, of course other teams did. Anyway congratulation for ferrari, and hope another good race for 2025 le mans.
The #8 Toyota should have definitely won ...
They were out for the win in any possible scenario ! They had no pace in the end . In fact the contact was due tu an overtake try by the 51 that was 0.800 to 1 second faster . After the safety they had 3.800 sec advantage from the 51 . It disappeared in about 1 lap . The outcome would not changed for the podium , maybe they will finished 4th but the Porsche was on charge in the final ,#51 barely managed to keep them behind!! Sorry but no
❤grandi!
Watched the race from start to finish and was not disappointed. Nighttime safety car was probably the only bit of the race I wasn't glued to the action. Feel bad for Alpine with their double DNF from the engine problems especially with how strong they looked, and for the 83 AF Corse having to retire so late after having such a great run. Would've been so cool to see a Ferrari podium lockout but it wasn't meant to be.
Ferrari’s 499P LMH has lost 2kW or 2.7bhp compared with last year, but remains at a minimum weight of 1075kg.
