I'm Brazilean and i understand your comment. We try looks differents from other latinos but at the same time we usually want to be closer to others latin countrys. About to say always 'we speak portuguese' it's because outside people misunderstand that spanish and portuguese are the same but isnt. They only realize I'm not Belgian when I try to speak dutch or french, then they guess Italian (my garandparents/parents nationality and my second fluent language), Portuguese, Spanish,...when I tell I'm Brazilian they are like: "what?". However they always try to make an excuse saying: "but your grandparents are italian and so are you, so we guessed right". And also, that's Belgium, where any in European, African and Asian could be Belgian, maybe in some other countries the perception that I'm a foreigner would be faster.

Everytime I see a latin person that white with that super dark black hair like Carla I always will think of Chile because of the chilean Valorant player Bstrdd (Paula) who plays for Team Liquid in Brazil, Bstrdd is also chilean and is exactly like Carla, super white and super dark black hair. And as a brazilian I can tell the brazilian in the first second they open the mounth to speak english, brazilians don't have a strong english accent but it is easy for another brazilian to indentify. The Chilean one looks very Chilean. Not all (I don't look like this for instance) but the bulk of Chileans have milky (as opposed to pink) pale skin and night sky black hair. Tan skin is not uncommon but a lot less common than milky pale, and light hair is not rare but those who have it normally have weird surnames.
