Hello, I was the LAX TOWER controller for the south complex (25R 25L) obviously there was a miscommunication with the tower frequencies (we had full tower staffing for this event) and we had to coordinate with each other on who and when to depart the aircraft. I hope i didnt sound too mean on here because I wasn't trying to, But working a huge event like CalScream and trying to push out these planes can raise the stress level a bit. Lol. I think we have to appreciate the maintenance guys at Korean Air for the kind of vodoo magic that they put on their aircraft , the aircraft was completely flyable even after an aircraft penetrated it.
landing and takeoff are a 2 person job. the thing we saw was only possible because we had ATC who were on the ball and moving professionally. If they were slacking off taking their time everything would slow down to where one person can handle it.

As a sim player, any landing where you don't completely damage the plane is a good landing. As a former aircraft maintainer: *stares at landing in disgust*
I also flew out of KLAX during the calscream event to KLAS. Was so busy that we were grounded at the ramp for almost an hour until we got our push clearance. Love the content as always :)
Nothing worse than knowing what you're doing all the time, but a moment where it really matters, it's nothing but chokes. Been there too many times myself. Another phenomenal video, though.

You know, when the guy said, "Hold short for traffic", I didn't expect to see actual ground vehicles. We're one step closer to getting back hot air balloons that go 600 Knots against the wind. 😀
It just doesn't seem like a flight simulator without the balloons clipping through the tower at Mach 2, a Cessna going space shuttle status, or an A380 repeatedly using slew to attempt takeoff over and over again. Or callsigns like B1GD1X or CHUNGUS. 😂
Hey there, its that Spirit Wings pilot. Still new to flightgear and vatsim, so with all the traffic, along with the stress of piloting a plane on keyboard and mouse, I had planned the whole route, but was expecting in all honesty to miss my approach and just divert to a less crowded airport. Also, i was decelerating from 180 to 130 and my autopilot didnt flare so I slammed into the ground...any landing you can walk away from. Thanks for the content, you got me onto vatsim and it has been so much fun, thanks.

Although I often fly to Europe and the United States on VATSIM, there are still many English conversations that I cannot understand. Your videos are like remedial English lessons for me. well yes but also no u gotta remember he is flyin in a busy airspace i flew my first vatsim flight in romania a year ago i left a note in the flight info that it was my first vatsim flight i literally around on the landing and made a mistake of not hearing the clearance well (classic mistakes huh)and every frequancy i was on everyone was so helpful especially tower and the clearance delivery they said it was alright and shit so :P
I have plucked up the courage to fly on vatsim twice. There's an option to tick somewhere telling the controllers you're new or inexperienced, and as long as you make a decent attempt on your comms they give you a good amount of leeway. It cetrainly gets your heart racing, but I'm sure if I did it more often it would be a relatively more relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Love the long-form flight vids. Gotta admit, though, I still have a soft spot and many belly laughs reserved for the classic FSX Steam Edition trolling-from-the-tower vids
I was at SFO when that plane crashed, I was only 10 but I remember looking out the window and seeing a plane on fire like it was yesterday. Pretty crazy stuff.
Few things one i want to say thanks for pushing me to get into VATSIM at first i thought it would be boring as i am a DCS guy however it is tons of fun to be on the network so I want to say thanks for that. Also its refreshing to see even a pro like yourself make a mistake makes me feel better as i am just getting into VATSIM. Although i do have an issue with my HOTAS i have a Virpil Controls and MSFS doesn't like my hotas but i do have an x56 that i use so not a big deal. anyway just wanted to say keep up the good work loving the VATSIM content its great. Also i had NOTHING to do with the 3 dead kids with parts of a cookie around them on that flight..... nope not at all
Just remember, every approach is a Go Around with an option for landing. (Can't remember where I heard that from, but EVERY flight school should teach that.)

I used to sit in traffic on the San Mateo Bridge just south of SFO a lot and it's shocking how many planes are landing in such a short period of time at all times. I would just sit there waiting to move and admire the fact that like 20-30 planes would go over so close to each other.
I don't think they give numbers for missed approaches. Unless the pilot did something really stupid and dangerous, the FAA wants to encourage pilots to do go arounds over trying to land a bad approach. Otherwise, you get accidents like Asiana 214. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asiana_Airlines_Flight_214 EDIT: Now, that "line up and wait" was so ugly, that could have triggered a "Please copy a phone number for a possible pilot deviation." Also the ATC generally wait till you're in cruse or have landed and are on the way to the stands for the "Please copy a phone number" message, as take offs and landings are the most stressful part of flying.
This is the sloppiest I've ever seen AFP95. But you know something? That's good to see. I like seeing the mistakes and not just constant, polished footage. It's still nice to watch!

@@jazzdub4958 If you have a Nvidia graphics card try updating your driver. The latest driver had a fix specifically for msfs crashes.
