In larger airports English is spoken quite frequently, as not only foreign pilots use English but also some Chinese pilots elect to do comm in English as practice (probably due to company policy). ATC will ask the latter to transmit in Chinese during rush hour, though.

Just did my first flight yesterday on VATSIM. KDAL to KMEM. Not too busy and the controllers were super nice and helped me with any mistakes I made. You should try it out!
Lol, it's definitely not above your skill level. I can hear a lot of 10-12 year old kids flying on VATSIM, if they can do it I'm pretty sure you can too.

This is my asmr NGL. I love all the Comms and conversation between Tc and pilot. I feel so safe and comfortable listening to this. I could listen to a transatlantic flight full no problem
You can also look up asmr ambience videos of ATC on UA-cam my guy. I get it fr it's soothing af it feels like proper professionals are overseeing everything.
2 things, In the glare shield panel, just left of the barometer selection knob there is a button called "MTRS" which is essentially opens an altimeter in the PFD that reads the altitude in meters. For Offsetting just press RTE on the 747 FMC and on the bottom right corner you can enter an offset distance and the plane will follow it i.e. L05 for Left of track 5nm, or R20 which is Right of track 20nm. Hope these helps :)

When he sets autobrake to RTO, the flaps are already set at 10 degree. Next shot is him setting flaps to 10. So I'm guessing it's just editing out of sequence. Edit: Nvm 😂 it is at Off after that too.
The people in ATC speaking English as their second language did a good job, i could understand enough of what they said. Doesn't mean i could fly where they want me, but id understand. 😀👍
The number reading is in aviation standard not in regular mandarin way. They read 7 as Guai (aviation standard) not Qi (daily conversation) much like nine and niner

@@shengkunlin5658 1234567890 in regular Yi Er San Si Wu Liu Qi Ba Jiu Ling. Aviation wise Yao Liang San Si Wu Liu Guai Ba Jiu Dong. There're just too many dialects in China and ppl speaks in different way so using the aviation reading number can reduce the chance of misunderstanding.
@@shengkunlin5658 Basically the numbers are read differently. 0 is normally ling but in aviation it is dong. 1 yi -> yao, 2 er -> liang, 7 qi -> guai to avoid confusion. you can't really distinguish 1 and 7 (yi vs qi), for example.
A 737 too! But not entirely out of reality: Pan Am did have a hub operation in Tokyo (first from RJTT, then RJAA when it opened), which was sold to United along with the rest of their Pacific division. United have since dismantled the Tokyo hub, but still they still hold the fifth-freedom traffic rights through Tokyo inherited from PAA (they were actually supposed to launch RJAA-RPVM this summer but it was postponed). Had Pan Am kept the Pacific division (and otherwise didn’t go kaput), I feel like it wouldn’t be too out of the picture to see their planes at Shanghai, at least before the 787. That said, a 737 seems a bit small for Tokyo, considering United and Delta (who inherited Northwest’s fifth-freedom rights through Tokyo) pushed loaded 747s through Tokyo. I did once fly the busy RKSI-RPLL route with Korean on a 737 though (it was essentially a holiday extra).
BTW you don't need to use the Salty Sim 747-8. After the AAU2 the default 747 is equivalent (if not better). Also, salute to the poor Air China pilot involved in the legendary "Negative, Get Your Hands Off Of Air China" incident. Also, maybe worth turning on the meters display on the PFD next time lol.

Just came back to london on a Qatar A380 and the back tail cam just looked epic. And here I am now watching this video. I am fascinated by such machines and always wanted to try playing the game but I feel like it is very complicated. Maybe I should try it now haha
11:29 tip: on the heading control knob, there is a “bank angle” selector. You can use that to restrict how much the auto-pilot will bank the aircraft to maintain a selected heading. I like to set it to “5” in cruise to prevent exactly that from happening.

As an ATC I can tell you, requesting pushback and then calling in a tug is a wild procedure.😄
