Long time watcher, rarely ever comment. Just want to let you know that I love your videos and your approach to board game reviews. Never being afraid to give your opinion and always calling out bollocks is why I'll keep watching! Happy 2025!
In this flat calm sea of moribundity, in this age of vanilla snowflakery the gaming world needs this lighthouse of humour, expletives and sense. A beacon to all old school gamers such as myself. Never change sir. Happy New Year.
I just want to add to the plethora of voices here in the comments to say THANK YOU for all of your excellent and honest reviews!! I have been watching your channel's content for many years and love what you do. It's a shame what boardgamegeek has become, especially as it used to genuinely be a place of open discourse regarding our board game hobby, whereas now they openly ban even slightly contrary opinions. Hopefully they will course-correct and return to the welcoming community they once were.
I'm an old man of 54 but relatively new to modern board gaming on account of being dad to an 11 year old who happens to like board games. For what it's worth, You are our main go-to when researching games. I agree about arcs. But if you listen to other channels, it's the best game ever. Keep up the good work.
@gomezthechimp1116 To be fare I only played it once at a friend's house, so i suppose I cant really say i have a genuine dislike or even good reason. My mate only played it to show me how it's not that great. He even said I could have it but I declined.
Keep speaking the truth brother! So right about BGG! You are one the best reviewers out there right now and I always look forward to your videos popping up even when you hurt my sensitive little feelings and tell me a game I like is “complete and utter dog shit!” Great advice on all the content creators as well. I really like the Secret Cabal, but I’ve been burned so many times by them telling how great a game is and then it wasn’t! Sometimes they will even say they were wrong about it a year later. I try and do a lot of research anymore before I jump on the latest and greatest.
RIP AntLab Games. Anthony and Frances are wonderful people. Most anticipated game for next year is Speakeasy. Great year for you, Bollocks. One of my favorite channels in this space. Keep it up!
Happy New Year 🎉 from a fellow Brit living in Sweden. Thanks for all your hard work, it’s really appreciated and congrats on hitting 30k subscribers. Please keep doing what you do as it’s my favourite board game channel. Don’t change anything style-wise, as that’s what makes you unique and ignore all the weirdos. Have a fantastic year and hopefully see you at UKGamesExpo 30th May/1st June.
Now 2025 can begin. I am looking forward to playing some of the "oldies" in my collection and a few of the new ones as well. Have a great one. You are the opposite of ARCS. Cheers!
i was going to give you $20.25 but they wouldn't let me. I'll have to mail you the .25 cents. Go buy a new hamster, or a onion, or a cucumber, or a bag of crisps! Much love from the USA!
Here's to a great 2025 for your channel. Your presence is important. BGG is the board gaming equivalent of console gaming's IGN! Despite the many complex and component packed board game delights available, it was Qwirkle in all it's simplicity that was the Christmas hit around our family table. Just need to try and win at least one damn game now!
Big fan man, I thoroughly enjoy your geezer style, direct and honest. Currently living on a boat in Wales, so if you wanna send me a present, will be much appreciated. Have a great new year, hope your channel grows an order of magnitude at least.
Rarely comment but thought I'd say that I really appreciate your perspective as a down to earth person as it's increasingly hard to find that in this hobby these days, so keep it up.
"Don't antagonize anyone; that's my job!" Absolutely love it. Thanks for all you do. Would love to have you visit Philly and attend PAX Unplugged. I've really enjoyed ISS Vanguard and looking forward to The Gilded Realms in 2025.
Love your vids, dont change, and im so happy i found this channel because its the *exact* way i want to see boardgames reviewed. No bullshit, no fear mongering, no PC bullshit, just real thoughts with some humor for good measure. Mint
Happy New Year! Keep up the brilliant work. Always enjoy watching your videos and love the fact that you have an unadulterated and objective opinion. You said it best to seek out your own info based on what is available. Your site is the first place that I always go for great advice.
Didn't really buy too much into the Arcs hype myself either but I would still end up liking to at least try it so might as well throw myself into the ring for it just in case it's something I do actually like. Love the content as always and looking forward to what you have coming for 2025! The brutal honesty is definitely something this hobby needs, not sugar coating.
I've loved your channel from the first video i came across. Love your no BS, no filter, blunt and honest approach to everything - it's hilarious but also a breath of fresh air and a standout from every other board game dedicated channel. Don't change a thing! Keep up the great work. You deserve many, many, MANY more subscripts and watchers! Looking forward to the most in 2025: I'm turning into a DC nerd, so DCeased-Zombicide and DC United are my top 2 highly anticipated.
Enjoyed the Rant. Been stung by the hype this year, too. Games aren't cheap, and investing in one and then not enjoying it feels like a double whammy! Keep up the good work.
I always respected Scarlet Witch's moderation, but all the other moderators have to fall in behind Octavian's castle defence mindset. He's built himself a problem with trying to enforce their socio-political views, alongside the traditional moderation of behaviour. That often creates conflicting impact, and he's incapable of appreciating that, choosing his aggressive moderation in favour of the activists flouting the behavioural rules, but supporting his aggressive moderation of socio-politics. It would be so much simpler if they simply blocked all discussion on socio-political issues, putting their stance as a statement in the final post of any such discussion that emerges. Way less effort for the moderators, and way less need to delete posts / ban people. Instead he's built this cottage industry of deletions and bans, which I can only assume gives him the feeling of 'fighting the good fight'.
I have a lifelong ban for no reason besides being bluntly factual. People flagged unpopular scientific probabilities about global population and on my way I was:P
Happy new year to you too. I'd say you're my favourite boardgame reviewer so keep up the good work. I'd say last year was pretty poor for games in general, I don't know if my tastes are changing, but I definitely enjoyed less of them last year.
Completely agree about Arcs. A mate got it. Didn't really like the art direction and aesthetics but thought it might still be a good game underneath it all, but I really wasn't sold on it. I tend to look for smaller games now because everything is so expensive and they're easier to transport and quicker to play. Recently got Forest Shuffle and Seaside, both small games.

I’m 50 and I’m just tired of a lot of the drama and hypocrisy. I enjoy the tone and delivery of your channel. I’d be happy to take arcs off your hands, if only to try the game out myself. I actually cancelled my Kickstarter order on the last day just based off a re-read of the early reviews
Cheers mate, HNY to you too. Great content glad your still enjoying creating it for us. As I've said before I always look to your channel to sense check any future purchase coz ur usually spot on. If I see you at Expo I'll defo pop and say hi.
Thanks for all your hard work ❤ I had some games come in from Kickstarter and games that I have on my shelf that I’ve been promising myself to master and play. I’m a very slow learner and before I host a board game night I rehearse all week leading up to the night to make the gameplay as smooth as possible. So hopefully it’s just a continuation of that when I can for 2025. I just got the all in pledge of Robinson Crusoe and have been slowly going through that. Just learned Fury of Dracula , Merchants and Mauraders and the variant for Abomination Heir of Frankenstein. Those are the big game nights I hope to hold this year.
Really enjoy your channel and would definitely have the courage to say hello if I ever saw you on my side of the pond … and good luck with Arcs as I’m sure I can do without it. :)
I'm always up for free stuff! We have a child just getting into games with us, so we bought a load of things hopefully to suit her this xmas period. Hoping to get some going, and also tempt the other child who struggles past 15 minutes to get into more a bit. Many purchases informed by you of course!
Happy New Year to you as well pal, and your family too of course. Thoroughly enjoyed your top 100 as well. We were away in the woods, off grid for Christmas, so I've just been going through them over the last few days. Look forward to your thoughts on SETI in the coming months, as that's up there on my wants list, as is Shackleton Base as I love all that space bollocks. I want to get more game time with the family this year, not just at games groups. We had a great time playing games in the lodge over Christmas, so want to keep their interest piqued. Keep it up matey, there's plenty of us middle-aged, grumpy, foul-mouthed fuckers out here that enjoy the shit you make. Some of us are also bitter vegans too, that miss decent gravy haha. All the best.
I was so happy to hear you give a critical view of Arcs after the hype frenzy but that being said, I haven't played it yet and would love to end up with your copy. Also don't let the emotionally fragile types affect your style mate.
Happy New Year and all the best for 2025!!! I am looking forward to see if i can go through my 85 + games collection twice this year. In terms of new games i am a bit excited by 1848:Spring of Nations but that is it really. Cheers
How dare you not tremor with anticipation for the soon forthcoming Speakeasy from the one and only Vital Lacerda. It is guaranteed to be only the most exquisite Euroslop.
I have not realised when I got into your channel, but i had a blast and you are my channel to go when i want board game fun - happy new year! Madness from a bloody Mexican fan!
I love the rest of the Leder games, but Arcs is the only one I don't own. I talked to them at GenCon about it, but haven't tried it yet. Thanks again for all the content, my favorite UA-cam channel for sure! Happy New Year, hope it's a great one for you and your family!
The thing about Arcs was that it rode a huge wave of positive reviews from various high profile previewers. People licked it up. It's always a good idea to download the manual and see what a game's about if possible. It'll save you from falling prey to the tastes of others. The biggest surprise for my family was Risk: Strike. My kids love it and even sometimes win when the adults leaven an opening after tearing at each other. It's that interaction and the spontaneous laughs that made this medium so enjoyable. The biggest upset was how Everdell fell so flat. The ridiculous gimmick tree does nothing, but it, I admit, sold the game. Glad I was able to check it out from the public library and saved myself the investment.
Happy New Year! I just got into board gaming last year and your channel is one of my most watched. Keep doing what you're doing- we need someone like you.
I really enjoy your style of reviews. Its great that you do pros and cons since a lot of reviewers wont say anything negative about a game and it feels like a much more honest review.
Happy new year and thanks for having the most entertaining channel for board games. Perfect name too, no one else has the bollocks to tell it like it is. Don’t send me Arcs, I don’t want that shit either.
Happy new year to you man. Looking forward to your 2025 content. We've enjoyed that you reviewed more recent releases this year and not just relics. And hey, Stalker is still open for late pledge on Gamefound as I type, for those who're keen (hum) on crowdfunded goodies before retail. I hope for you to give a crack at Maladum from BattleSystems in 2025, that is if you can tolerate building their card terrain. This year I've realised that area control without good diplomacy element aren't my cuppa, so I'll be playing more Game of Thrones and Oath to control and backstab all me mates. Happy stabby. Cheers!
Happy new year. I bought Robot Quest Arena at last years Expo after watching your review. Love that game. I did keep an eye out for you hoping to bump into you but didn’t end up spotting you. Hopefully I will see you at this years expo to say hi. Love the channel keep up the good work.
Happy New Year. I plan on playing many good games of Cthulhu Death May Die. Its already become my most played game in my collection at under 2 months since i purchased. Maybe this year, I'll get some good plays in of some older games I've got. Got a 2nd baby due in July so we'll see about that. Also my 3 year old is interested in board games so we've picked up a few HABA games to try with her. Congrats on 30k subscribers! I wouldnt mind picking up that copy of arcs. Id pay shipping.
I have been looking around for a new game and after loads of watching reviews I found myself in the new position of not being arsed about anything a good while. I have games I my cupboard I gave hardly touched and I am most excited about getting into those more! Unless something pretty special comes along I will hang onto my cash.
All the best for 2025. I appreciate the different take your channel gives- also you seem to be the only person in the world other than me who reaply appreciates the Last Kingdom board game. Ive just spent too much buying a copy of Burning Banners, which i hope might be the narrative driven fantasy hex and counter game ive been looking for since i was a kid.
This was so bloody entertaining!! Looking forward to 2025 and I made a mental note to have hand saniters within reach if i see you at UKGE! I played a demo of Arcs and i quite enjoyed that, so i wouldnt mind taking off you. Happy NYE!
I love your channel and straight-up honesty. I swayed away from Arcs due to your review, but I'll take it off your hands for FREE. I'm sure I'll enjoy an evening of suffering if it's that bad 😅😅😅
Happy New Year from those of us lurking way at the back. I'm looking forward to seeing those Fighting Fantasy reviews, such a big part of my childhood. I'm hoping to look through my small collection of games and move some on that just didn't work for me or are too similar to others I own, i only have about 50 games not including the bonkers amount of Memoir 44 I have (still no DDay reprint) so shouldn't take that long. Keep the good stuff coming matey.
Big thing for us this year was moving to smaller box games that we could set up quick, teach quick, clean up quick and get another game to the table. Castle Combo is the perfect example of that. Also makes it a bit more fair to other people so they can get their games to table to. No more big giant KS games with 20 minute set up and 30 minute teach.
Long time watcher, rarely ever comment. Just want to let you know that I love your videos and your approach to board game reviews. Never being afraid to give your opinion and always calling out bollocks is why I'll keep watching! Happy 2025!

I played it 3 times and found it really frustrating. I won't be playing it again.
@gomezthechimp1116

My mate only played it to show me how it's not that great.

54 isn't old mate. 74...84. 94, yeah, but 54, no.
Keep speaking the truth brother! So right about BGG! Haha! I think this is the biggest super we’ve ever had…thanks mate 👍🏻
Keep up the good work in 2025! This channel is a breath of fresh air. I wished I saw your video before I bought Arcs.
As a Texan in America I really appreciate like minded people like you across the pond 👍. Keep doing what you are doing.
Hasn’t Texas always been in America?
We have a city named Paris, Texas...so sometimes we have to specify the country. 🙂
@@BoardGameBollocks Once upon a time it was in Mexico.
And before that it wasn’t in anything 👍🏻
Here's to a great 2025 for your channel. Your presence is important. BGG is the board gaming equivalent of console gaming's IGN! Despite the many complex and component packed board game delights available, it was Qwirkle in all it's simplicity that was the Christmas hit around our family table. Just need to try and win at least one damn game now!
Thanks
Cheers mate….might recommend Spot Goes to the Farm for some light alternative reading
BGB is definitely my favorite gaming channel on UA-cam - love your rants and takes - very refreshing and hilarious.
Big fan man, I thoroughly enjoy your geezer style, direct and honest. Currently living on a boat in Wales, so if you wanna send me a present, will be much appreciated. Have a great new year, hope your channel grows an order of magnitude at least.

Love your vids, dont change, and im so happy i found this channel because its the *exact* way i want to see boardgames reviewed. No bullshit, no fear mongering, no PC bullshit, just real thoughts with some humor for good measure.

Happy New Year! Keep up the brilliant work. Always enjoy watching your videos and love the fact that you have an unadulterated and objective opinion. You said it best to seek out your own info based on what is available. Your site is the first place that I always go for great advice.

Love the content as always and looking forward to what you have coming for 2025! The brutal honesty is definitely something this hobby needs, not sugar coating.
Keep it real man! Love your reviews and the funny witty comedy slipped in. Your videos always make me laugh and feel better.
Surprise of 2024: Slay the Spire the Board Game; Disappointment of 2024: Andromeda's Edge. Looking forward to 2025!
I want arcs, otherwise I’m sending you two cucumbers.
I’d take it too, but this comment made me laugh. This guy deserves it more.
Are they at least bloody?
I've loved your channel from the first video i came across. Love your no BS, no filter, blunt and honest approach to everything - it's hilarious but also a breath of fresh air and a standout from every other board game dedicated channel. Don't change a thing! Keep up the great work. You deserve many, many, MANY more subscripts and watchers!
Looking forward to the most in 2025: I'm turning into a DC nerd, so DCeased-Zombicide and DC United are my top 2 highly anticipated.
Glad to see Arcs get another shoutout on this channel.
Best thing for me in 2024 is finding your channel. Cheers
Enjoyed the Rant. Been stung by the hype this year, too. Games aren't cheap, and investing in one and then not enjoying it feels like a double whammy! Keep up the good work.
yeah bgg moderators are absolutely terrible
Bgg = cultural marxists
Welcome to.... the woke extreme left! Sounds like a new game lol
Not sure BGG are Communists but there you go…
I have a lifelong ban for no reason besides being bluntly factual. People flagged unpopular scientific probabilities about global population and on my way I was:P
09:44 Now your talking! Looking forward to that and Happy new year
Happy new year to you too. I'd say you're my favourite boardgame reviewer so keep up the good work.
I'd say last year was pretty poor for games in general, I don't know if my tastes are changing, but I definitely enjoyed less of them last year.
Keep up the good work mate, I really appreciate your honesty in your reviews.
Here is a random person leaving a not weird comment.
Thank you for saying this about boardgamegeek. I hate them too, especially the moderator Octavian, who is a cancer to that website.
Back in the 90s, nerds would gatekeep the hobby from outsiders and now snowflake social warriors are gatekeeping the hobby from the old school nerds. Weird times.
I've been thinking about how the pendulum of society swings. In the 60's, the government was spying on and weaponizing the administrations against the liberal socialists. Now it is being done to constitutional conservatives. Funny how the world works.
Cheers
Gatekeeping is seen as a negative thing, but this demonstrates exactly why people become protective of things. Communities, fandoms, hobbies, etc get ruined the moment the floodgates open, in almost all cases.
I'm a big fan and appreciate what your doing.
Cheers mate, HNY to you too. Great content glad your still enjoying creating it for us. As I've said before I always look to your channel to sense check any future purchase coz ur usually spot on. If I see you at Expo I'll defo pop and say hi.
I love the comedy approach to the hobby, but actually still serious and honest opinions and passion for the hobby
Happy new year! If I see you at UKGE (and my terrible facial recognition allows), I hereby pledge to say hello to you. Have a good one!
Your channel is always a breath of fresh air. All your hard work can be seen in the production quality and content.
Happy New Year. Always a good watch.
Thanks for sharing your rant. An excellent start to my new year. As always, "see you next Tuesday."
Thanks for all your hard work ❤ I had some games come in from Kickstarter and games that I have on my shelf that I’ve been promising myself to master and play. Thanks for keeping it real man and happy new year!
Another great video! I love your channel, thank you for the great content.
I always enjoy your videos. I got to admire someone who tells it as it is. Keep up the good work and I hope you continue to grow. Happy New Year.
Really enjoy your channel and would definitely have the courage to say hello if I ever saw you on my side of the pond … and good luck with Arcs as I’m sure I can do without it. :)

All the best.
Happy new year all! Looking forward to hearing more recommendations throughout the year and laughing at the outrage at the terrible games too!
Another amazing year of videos! Love you yearly rant and can't wait to see more of your awesome content this year.
Congrats on 30k! Hope you had a gret Christmas and a fun New Year... I HATE BGG... Nailed it about them.
I was so happy to hear you give a critical view of Arcs after the hype frenzy but that being said, I haven't played it yet and would love to end up with your copy.
Also don't let the emotionally fragile types affect your style mate.

Our thanks as always for all your efforts in keeping it real.
That comment was the biggest load of brain rot I had seen in a long time. Cheers to 2025! Thanks for all you do.
Love the channel - thought I saw you briefly at UKGE but it was packed! Please don't change anything you do!
I have not realised when I got into your channel, but i had a blast and you are my channel to go when i want board game fun - happy new year!
Madness from a bloody Mexican fan!
Happy new year bud..))) and dont include me for arcs thx lol
Thank you for all of your reviews. Keep it up!
I finally bought Obsession because of you. You great big influencer you! (not commenting for Arcs don’t want it).
Great video, always enjoy your no BS reviews and opinions, keep up the good work, and above all else... *Happy New Year* .
I hope you have a great new year and I’m happy to see the channel growing! Here’s to some more hopefully great games in 2025
I love the rest of the Leder games, but Arcs is the only one I don't own. I talked to them at GenCon about it, but haven't tried it yet. Thanks again for all the content, my favorite UA-cam channel for sure! Happy New Year, hope it's a great one for you and your family!

Would gladly take Arcs off your hands.
Love the channel, keep up the good work and here's to a good 2025 of gaming! 🎉
Your best vid' to date. Thanks for the honest words.
New viewer this year. I have enjoyed the content, keep it up! Happy New Year from Canada!
Happy new year and thanks for having the most entertaining channel for board games. Perfect name too, no one else has the bollocks to tell it like it is.
Don’t send me Arcs, I don’t want that shit either.
Happy new year me oul flower. I crack up at your videos. Love your honesty.
Thanks for taking the time to do one of these things.
And happy new year to you too
Love this channel dude, nice to have a bit more balance in UA-cam board game scene
Wish I'd seen you at Games expo I would have said hello for sure !! Happy new year and all the best for 2025. Love the channel and the reviews.
I have been looking around for a new game and after loads of watching reviews I found myself in the new position of not being arsed about anything a good while. I have games I my cupboard I gave hardly touched and I am most excited about getting into those more! Unless something pretty special comes along I will hang onto my cash.
sensible
Hmmm my aspirations for this year are to tackle the rest of my shelf of shame and just appreciate the games I've already got.
No shame in having shed loads of games to try mate
@BoardGameBollocks thank you, I've considered it. Love your channel. Have a happy new year
All the best for 2025.
Also please do not send me Arcs. Hate Root.
This was so bloody entertaining!! Looking forward to 2025 and I made a mental note to have hand saniters within reach if i see you at UKGE!
I played a demo of Arcs and i quite enjoyed that, so i wouldnt mind taking off you.
Happy NYE!
Happy New Year! You always crack me up! Keep on cracking! Hope that’s not weird to write! 😂
I love your channel and straight-up honesty. I swayed away from Arcs due to your review, but I'll take it off your hands for FREE. I'm sure I'll enjoy an evening of suffering if it's that bad 😅😅😅
😂😂😂 Happy New Year to you too! Always a laugh had round here.
Bloody great to meet you this year mate... not so happy about having shaken your hand though.
Hope you have a great 2025 Geeza!
truer words have never been spoken!
People just assume if you use scary words that you’re some sort of alt right person it’s a real smooth brain society we’ve worked ourselves into
Utterly bizarre
Happy new year dude, really like your stuff.
Thumbnail is the best Rumpelstiltskin impression I've seen in a long time.
Happy New Year to you , ta for all the reviews etc
Awesome stuff. I backed Arc so was thinking it was good will now have to wait till we play it as value Ur judgement. Thanks again for what u do
Big thing for us this year was moving to smaller box games that we could set up quick, teach quick, clean up quick and get another game to the table. Castle Combo is the perfect example of that. Also makes it a bit more fair to other people so they can get their games to table to. No more big giant KS games with 20 minute set up and 30 minute teach.
