thank you for this , this explains why I have a wonky smile now. One side is normal THE OTHER has given me a weird creepy joker like effect.....my provided denies of course that she has done any thing wrong. Won't be smiling till it wears off sadly .
Great information! But, I need help. You mentioned the Prosarus muscle; mine is very strong. I get it treated with toxin. But, I still have the horizontal lines above my nose. They are not bunny lines. Can you recommend where to jnject to treat these and lift the area? Or, is it because there wasn't enough injected into the Prosara's muscle?
The Procerus muscle is the main muscle that causes that horizontal line. Sometimes it just takes a little more toxin or time too and repeated treatments if the wrinkle is deep.
May I ask a question? I have SEVERE TMJ. I started injecting my masseter's about 9 months ago, and they took an insane amount of tox to tame! Very quickly, my jaw locked, and I am unable to open my mouth more than an inch. I've been this way since August 2021. After having an MRI, my articular disc has slipped out and very minimal, which I expect to be due to such excessive grinding. I am needing to have surgery to put the disc back in place and an implant to tide me over until I can have a jaw replacement. Is this just a coincidence it happened at the same time as I started injecting my masseter's?

After masseter btx,my smile is downwards. The doc said the lottery hit me, something i did (sleeping on it) might ve caused it to spread (he didnt go too deep and caused it to spread to risorius and said it'll go back to normal in a month or two. I'm over a month and regretting it deeply 😧😪😪
Unfortunately this is a known side effect of not injecting deep enough or simply hitting the wrong muscle. Over the next coming weeks you will start to see improvement. You will be turning that corner very soon. Kindest regards Mary. Clinical advisor for Dr Tim
