I had a 14' Coleman fiberglass canoe. 🛶 Got it for my fourteenth birthday back in 1978. Loved that thing, but if you flip one over and I did, it really sucks.😅 I did a lot of Trout fishing in it when I lived in New Mexico back then. Awesome vid and the scenery was beautiful. 👍🏻😎
What an awesome fishing trip Ethan. Beautiful, beautiful river (at a beautiful time of year) and the trout fishing was outstanding. Glad you caught a trout on a classic Phoebe spoon before losing it. I grew up fishing them and that brought back some sweet childhood memories.
@@FishAnything I like to reel it with some pauses, twitches and jerks thrown in and if there is some current sometimes I'll let it flutter along and ride in the current. If the weight and rate of current are just right, it will flutter along in the middle or near the bottom of the water column. Almost like your are drift or float fishing it. I want to do one of these camping/fishing trips with you someday.
Just imagine exactly this but downstream a bit and hooking trout that are 10-20 pounds. I'm gonna keep pushing you to fish for steelhead until you eventually do. Plus a mule jig with a little condition chosen plastic or steelhead worm drifted under a 8g float with tapered split shot, swivel and 24" flouro leader would be an absolute killers, the 1/80th oz with an appropriate plastic or a little cloud of marabou would get you a ton of luck in the dead of winter when the water is clear. All that aside, what a great trip. Glad you had fun and enjoyed the outdoors!
Brown Trout were out of season. I could have kept the rainbows and honestly want to return to do exactly that next time. Cook them at camp and just eat what I catch!
Got my Mule Jigs today and can’t wait to use them. Thanks for the handwritten note - that’s class!

@@FishAnything I chase trout sometimes, don't usually catch 'em, not since I moved south.

That sounds super cool (minus flipping it of course) 🤣 there is just something about floating in a canoe that is crazy peaceful
Love trout fishing
They are super pretty fish and more aggressive than most bass fishermen realize!
Good time buddy!
The best of times :D
Looks like a good time!
It was a blast! 🤠🕺🏼

I need to build up more confidence in the little spoon. Do you tend to just reel it or do you rip it?

Lol please do keep pushing me! Eventually it will hit different and I’ll be like... “damn why haven’t I fished for them yet?” 😹
We need more of this.
Also I can teach you how to smoke a top tier brisket.
Teach me your ways oh BBQ master XD
@@FishAnything I got you bro!
I'm so jealous right now. I have yet to catch a trout ever.

Sweet!
Thanks Vincent!
Canoes are fantastic. I'm looking into getting a sports pal, pretty much the most stable of all canoes.
Epic! That thing looks fun
Great video !! I have subscribed to your channel 😀
Thank you! 🤠🕺🏼 holler if you ever have feedback/suggestions
That river looks sweet. I’ll have to look it up and see how far it is from Chicago!
Not super far - you should definitely make a trip!
Legs for days!
Haha 🕺🏼😱
You should get a smoker to do your bbq! I'm working on getting a inexpensive smoker I want to try cooking brisket
I did get a smoker :) that is where the pork came from!

Great looking trip! Good call mashing the barbs too 👍.
Had no idea you had been down here to SC. Was the tournament the big one on lake hartwell?
The SC trip was many years ago on Lake Murray!
@@FishAnything nice! Haven't been there before. It is a hour or two away from my area.
Where on the manistee did you launch if you mind me asking?
I have so far exclusively fished in the Manistique River on my kayak the two towns are commonly mistaken for each other
Nice! I bet that is fun!
Good brookie fishing in the Manistique area
Love the videos! Where did you find those pliers/scissors combo
Thanks Samuel! Those are called Buck Knives Splizzors but I am not sure if they are made anymore. I do love them!
@@FishAnything you ate correct they have discontinued them. Thanks for your fast answer.
I would have kept some of the fish to have for dinner.
