I'm a complete newbie to the world of beading and I enjoy your channel so much! Thank you for all the great info that you give and the ideas that you share. ♥
The beads you used on your necklace are very nice and so are the bead caps - they look beautiful, and I was wondering how you choose the right size of bead caps for the beads or did these ones come on the strand already? I'd love to use bead caps with my beads, but I never know what size to get. I saw a video tutorial on bead caps, which was interesting because the lady who made the video used different sized caps with different sized beads, and I was amazed at how the look of the beads really changed depending on the size of the bead caps and the beads. Could you please tell me the average size bead cap I should use with a 6mm round bead, and what size to use with an 8mm bead? I just want to put on caps that will fit around the top of the beads, like little hats!!! 😆 I LOVE them and I can't wait to use them. Thank you soooo much in advance for answering my questions. 😊😘 Love from Amanda in Australia
There is no exact answer for what size bead cap to use with a certain size bead. As you mentioned, you can get different looks by using different proportions. My advice to you is to pick up bead caps in several sizes, say from 4mm to 8 or 10mm (or bigger, if you have lots of really big beads), and experiment with beads you have. See what you like: More of the bead covered? Less of it covered? Caps that add lots of dimension? Low profile caps? Only you can determine what suits your taste best. :-) Happy creating!
There is a link to the bracelet video in the annotations, but if you're watching on mobile it doesn't show. You can find it here: keepsakecrafts.net/blog/2013/11/14/urban-girly-bead-dangle-bracelet-video-tutorial/ Happy creating!
On the 2 strands you showed where there was a lenght that had a space at the end and you put a tube with jump ring and squeezed the tube but you didn;t show how the beads got to the end of the wire? So can you tell me how you got everything nice and tight to the ends of the necklace!
Will the wire help the necklace swing nicely or will it be stiff? I want to make a really long necklace and want to make sure that I am using the right materials.
That’s a very good question, Keke! If you use a good quality beading wire that isn’t too heavy for the beads you use, it should swing gracefully and not be stiff. Choose 19 or 49 strand wire, rather than seven. Those drape much more nicely.
Do you have a video on attaching jump rings? I don't have a problem with the first one, but the end one drives me crazy, how to do you get the beads and jump rings pulled down without a gap in the beads.and crimp bead! Is there a easy way to do it? Thanks for any help!
Hello! I just found this video. I like your explanation, but I dontt quite understand the finishing process with crimping and jump ring. It seems like you had quite and length left when you flattened you crimp but then in the subsequent frames it's snug with the beads. Am I missing something? Thanks.
You crimp the second end the exact same way you did the first. The only difference is that before flattening the crimp you need to pull the on the wire end until the loop is close to but not too tight to the beads. Honestly, I should have shown doing the second end, rather than the first. 😐 It’s one of those videos I have thought of redoing for clarity. Someday, when I have time! Hope this helps. Happy creating, Yelena.
Hi Miriam, glad you like the video! I made this video a long time ago so I don't know which bracelet you mean. Can you tell me the time stamp of the point it shows in the video?
@@SandyHuntress hi thanks for getting your reply . The bracelet you are wearing in this video. I am new at this and I am planning on getting the material to make this necklace. I love bracelets, and noticed yours. Greetings
Let me know at what time it appears in the video. I'm happy to consider requests but don't have time to search through the video to find what you mean.
Thank you for the overall helpful tutorial. Some suggestions: I felt lost when you did the clasps. I felt that you completely skipped over this important part and I had no idea how you connected all the ends.
That Necklace is drop dead gorgeous .. I Love your work, but at the end you attached the lobster claw so fast.. I would love to know the proper way to cut the remaining wire and then add the closure . I've never beaded before so, if you can cue me in on how to do that that would be great !
Hi Rojeania, thank you for the nice comments! I go into detail on finishing bead stringing in this video: ua-cam.com/video/pPWu4K9PCAo/v-deo.html. Hope this helps, happy creating!
Thank you for showing us how to string beads...I have a question. I noticed that you have a large gap of string after you attached the crimp and jump ring, how did you get rid of the excess gap with finishing up the end of the string? Did you tuck it in at the end? Is there going to be space at the end?
Hi, I am completely new to jewelry making. ur videos are very simple, yet inspiring. Where can I get jewelry materials to start with- I feel Michael's & Joan are very expensive. Any suggestion pls??
Hi Jacintha! I'm so happy to hear you find my videos inspiring, as that is always my goal. If you shop the sales and coupons at Michael's, Joann's & A.C. Moore the prices are about the cheapest out there. Not all of their things are good quality, so watch for that, but if you're just learning that isn't a big concern. The more experienced you get, the more you'll appreciate the nicer components. I do a lot of my online shopping at FireMountainGems.com and and ArtBeads.com. Get on their newsletters so you can shop sales & specials. The FireMountainGems.com catalog is HUGE and very inspiring, so be sure to request one of those, too. They often have nice things on clearance for really good prices.
That bead design board is a good one, as you can lay our larger projects, but it does take up a lot of room on your work surface.I have several, depending on what I'm working on: the large one you mentioned, for designing long necklaces and multi-wrap bracelets, a similar one with the three "U" shaped channels for necklaces, but half the length, so it can fit in a small space and a board with several straight channels, good for laying out long earrings or multi-strand bracelets. It really does depend on what you are working on and the space you have.
Sandy hi I think I found the video in which you teach how to make the bracelet you are wearing in this video it's the "Urban Girly Bead Dangle bracelet".
Hi Miriam, you are right! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I just left a comment with the link to that video a little while ago. Hope you enjoy!

Help! How can you balance a necklace if they are not identical on each side? Necklace is great, but I learned by symmetry. How can I relax my rigid view?
I wish it showed her finishing the necklace. I have a hard time getting rid of the extra space between beads at the finishing part because I'm trying to hide the crimp.
Lauren, you don't want to get rid of all of the extra space between the beads and your crimp, this will make the whole design too tight and prone to breaking. Leave a little breathing room. You can use a colored beading wire if you are concerned about the wire showing. And you can conceal your crimp beads with crimp covers if you do not like the look of your finished crimps.
Your question is very difficult to read, but I think you are asking how you string the beads? You simply pick up each bead and slide it onto the stringing wire. The board doesn’t do any stringing for you, it just helps you arrange things the way you want them.
You actually don't want it to be tight, or your jewelry will be stiff and not drape gracefully. It's best to leave a few millimeters of slack. With chunky beads you can leave up to 1/8" of slack.
+Virgie Townsend You just have to pick up the beads one at a time and slide them onto the wire. I don't usually show the stringing because it's pretty boring to watch. :-)
HI Gale, I'm sorry to hear you didn't find anything helpful in the video. What folks really want to know is how to finish the ends after the beads are on the wire. The actual stringing of a bead onto a wire is just that simple: pick up a bead, poke the wire into the hole, repeat to add more beads. 🙂
Along with being a very good teacher you have a soothing voice that really puts me in the right mood to learn this calming craft.

Very nice
Pls after setting d beads on d beading trac, hw did u string in d beads?
Your question is very difficult to read, but I think you are asking how you string the beads?
You simply pick up each bead and slide it onto the stringing wire. The board doesn’t do any stringing for you, it just helps you arrange things the way you want them.
Tank u soo oo much for ur quick respond, I appreciate ma!
I would like a little explanation on the wire. There are so many sizes I am not sure what I need
This video should help clear things up for you: ua-cam.com/video/4tap73ch_kA/v-deo.html
I don’t understand how you keep the beads tight at the end when you put on crimp beads etc
You actually don't want it to be tight, or your jewelry will be stiff and not drape gracefully.
It's best to leave a few millimeters of slack. With chunky beads you can leave up to 1/8" of slack.
Lovely
Thank you!
How much does that board cost?
can anyone tell me where to get those kind of board? What is it called?
It's called a bead design board and you can find several styles here: amzn.to/2inboae. Happy creating!
You left out some MAJOR details that I feel would have benefited us beginners.
+Virgie Townsend What other things would you like to have seen, Virgie?
I wanted to see exactly how you beaded the beads on the wire and did you connect the two necklaces. You said it but I'm a visual learner.
How did you connect the two and did you bead one bead at a time or did you bead them on the wire while the beads were on the pallette?
+Virgie Townsend You just have to pick up the beads one at a time and slide them onto the wire. I don't usually show the stringing because it's pretty boring to watch. :-)
Oh, on. Thank you, I thought maybe there was another way. Makes sense though. thanks again.

Not good at all, because didn't show while putting wite in beads all the way to end.
