Recently articles are against scraping of the socket walls to create a clot just irrigation and antiseptic/analgesic dressing because that actually would delay the healing further more…….thank you for your lectures 💐

Scraping may bring out dead fractured bone or other particals to facilitate healing or which may causing delayed healing !!!

not necessary in every case ...if needed you can do it after 2-3 days

for clot disintegration it will take 2 - 3 days...after clot disintegration, bare bone and nerve endings get exposed which will cause pain.

a pom pom is a piece of cotton wool enclosed within an outer layer of gauze ..the free edges of which are secured with a ligature like suture material ...these are used for dressing of intraoral cavities ....like dry socket or during marsupilaization of cystic cavity...they can be impregnated with a antibacterial paste such whitehead's varnish or bismuth iodoform to avoid infection
