    Some videos on servicing the original Canon F1 and 1976 F1n would be excellent, if those are possible at all...

      Thank you for your interest in FOC and the Canon F1 is on the list as a possibility.

      The Nikon F2 will continued to be featured in Fix Old Camera videos. Would have to be multiple videos to cover such a repair, as the loose format for FOC videos is to try to keep the length under ten minutes.

    How about replacing the tiny rivets that hold many accessories and hot shoes to cameras? Some cameras I've seen have rivets holding the film door and other odds and ends. I've been trying for years to buy these tiny rivets and even more important the tools needed to set these tiny rivets by hand. Does anyone that you know of sell these small rivets and hand setting tools? I know the usual fix is to drill rivets out and replace them with small #0 and #1 slotted screws but the heads are to big compared to a rivet and the repair just looks jury-rigged. Plus the tiny hex nuts are just to big to allow proper clearance. Which is why rivets were used in the first place. I do have a few OEM Argus old stock rivets that hold the catch on old C-3 Argus cameras and have tried setting them with an center punch, but it just isn't the same. You know the old adage, The right tool for the right job! THANKS

      With a jewelers headpin or riveting anvil and jewelers headpin wire or solid copper wire you will be able to fashion very tiny rivets. The headpin wire tip can be heated with a small pencil torch and it will form a ball on the wire's end that can then be flatten with a punch or flat pliers. Washers can be used to widen the holding surface. It is also possible a local-owned old school hardware store might carry some small rivets that would work on the accessory shoes or other applications where the rivet is a little bigger. If not again use solid copper wire to create the rivet. Use a small needle drill to create a depression in the ends of the wire and it will spread and create the head when smashed.

    What is the brand of the removable tip spanner used in these videos?

      Unfortunately, the excellent T-132 spanner is no longer available. The ones used in the FOC videos have been in continuous service for nearly 40 years. This is a very good copy except the tips are held in place with a screw rather than a clip.

    My Olympus D600L has been great for many years but no longer works with a busted battery contact deep inside. Can you tell me anything as to who or how this can be fixed? Thanks, Richard Willing

      Fix Old Cameras will not be going down the digital road, even though there are many great "old" digital cameras still around. Even so, thank you for your interest in FOC.

    what crosspoint sizes are required?

    • @FixOldCameras

      XPT style 1.7mm for some, but 2.5mm will cover most... MOODY style #00 and #0(equivalent to 2.5mm)

    Can you point me towards a spanner wrench that I could use on a Yashica 35 mm Electro GSN? I measure the distance on the ASA dial at 5mm and on the film advance lever at 10mm. I cannot find a wrench described to adjust to these measurements

      Should be able to make one to fit your needs... fortunately they are rarely overly tight. This video has one idea.

      I'd love to see this as well. My shutter lock is loose (floats freely back and forth) and now the light meter isn't working because of it. I'd love to lock it back down.

    I dropped my Pentax K1000 and the meter is stuck in middle with no movement, even with new battery...Can you create a k1000 series of repair videos, maintenance and refurb videos

    • @FixOldCameras
      @FixOldCameras  6 років тому

      The Pentax K1000 would be a good choice for a feature series. For the Pentax on that slipped from hand... it is possible that the either the bottom or top pivot of the galvanometer coil slipped out of position and is causing the bind on the needle.

    Dear Fix Old Cameras ... Can I ask you a dumb question? In your opinion, what is the absolute *easiest* (mechanically simplest?) camera to repair?
