I made it a habit to archive all your well-made videos and show them to badminton buddies whenever they need proper instructions on how to execute footwork and shots. Your channel is a gem and both of you are perfect ambassadors for badminton.
This video is so timely. One of the guys that I regularly play with just said to me “Dan you are making good improvements but you have no backhand shot !” Very good video and I hope to start adding in a backhand shot into my repertoire to get me out of trouble
You helped me with my backhand. Earlier, I had a horrible backhand, but after watching the video, I have improved my backhand a lot! Thanks for your help! Btw my name is sum sum.
Those transitions are soooo gooooood xD ALSO, the meter at the bottom left really helps a lot when navigating back and forth the video, awesome concept, hope you keep it in in future vids!
Thanks a lot - we spent a lot of time on them! Glad you like the new addition - with comments like these it might just be a new feature on every video 😀
@@BadmintonInsight Even when not a lot of people- sometimes even none- comment on minute details like these, please do know that people DO notice the amount of effort you guys put into the videos. A lot of people are shy or just don't bother to type out comments, but I'm certain a lot of people do benefit from the increased production value and quality content you guys put out. This video had so much energy I was really waiting for this video my backhand is very poor i couldn't generate power with the backhand. Thanks very much
I satrted badminton too late, when i was 16 years old and i fel underwhelmed by how much better my teamates were, i've been watching your videos over the last year and it has really helped me improve, now i'm 20 years old and playing on national nevel, thank you guys so much for yourr advice and helping us improve every week
Very clear explanation, especially thanks for the tip about facing backwards; to use ones body-rotation in power generation, not heard that stated so explicitly before! Cheers!
A really good platform to learn the game for an amateur player like me. It would be good to make more amateurs vs pro videos, which will help me to know the mistakes I make every time I play. Kudos to both of you.
Hey guys, thanks for another great video. Loved some of the angling and editing on this one. Those little slider things for the duration of each tip was pretty cool. As well as good quality concise information as always
This was a quick and good video. If I may suggest an idea for another video, can you cover up all the rules of badminton? Most people don't actually know some of the intricate rules, especially with the service. A video like this would really help most of the viewers.
so glad that i watched this video! been struggling with my back hand due to the grip, now all i need to do is get used to the correct grip thanks a lot😊
This came just in time as I was starting to wonder why my backhands are not consistent .. Y_Y 1:45 And i love this part of the video! It's so seamless hahaha
Such clear practical advice delivered in a truly unique way! You guys are continuing to smash it!! I really look forward to Sunday mornings for your new upload and they never disappoint 🔥🏸
Thank you so much badminton insight. TBH yall are the best badminton tutorial chanel. I love yall❤ .yall have made such a big impact for me and my badminton skills. Thank you for taking so much time to make your tutorials the easiest to follow. Yall have inspired me to join my first badminton tournament. Thank you again
You talked about having less control when your arm is further away from you. How close should it really be, optimally? Do you have a video somewhere discussing this? Thanks again for the incredible work and dedication you put into this!
100% this is an awesome video! as a doubles player I tend to think backhands are over rated but honestly there are some situations you simply cannot hit an overhead. It is amazing to see how much you guys have grown on UA-cam! I am hopeful I do the same thing for my channel!
Thank’s for the advice this can really help me because my friend’s shot at my non racket side so i use backhand a lot and wish you guys a happy life 🤗😊
Thank you for the video! It’s funny because I was talking to my friend about how my backhand sucked and then a second later I opened UA-cam and this was the first video that showed up haha! I really appreciate the work you guys do
Love the editing on this video. Your transitions were slick! Really nice video to watch as well as cracking content. Keep these coming!! Hope you don't see my backhand at the NBC or you'd have a heart attack! xD
the most important advice is @2:43 where greg basically says not to attempt an overhead backhand unless you really need to. in doubles this should be just about never. in singles it does come up. it's worth noting why many players dont want to use their forehand and are obsessed with obtaining the technical skills to have a powerful backhand, believing this will be the holy grail of their game. the reason most players dont want to do the forehand is because they dont want to do the footwork to get deeply into their backhand corner and turn their body, which is lazy. so get real, if you are lazy you will probably never improve your game. you can always look for every trick and tip you believe will help you avoid work, like people who believe they can get rich quick. my advice for everyone who wants to learn how to have a powerful backhand is: forget about the overhead backhand and learn to move fast and deep into your backhand corner. turn your body and make an effective forehand shot. when you've mastered that, you wont feel you need a backhand so much and you'll probably already have one without knowing quite how you got it
After watching your videos and practicing, my brother and I just won our U15 game today, both our first tournament and first victory. Thank you for making informative videos like this. However, we had a bit of a problem dealing with nerves right before our game. Do you have any tips on that?
Also if you need any video ideas I know you made 4 corner footwork but in training we are always told to shadow. If you could can you tell us how to shadow effectively and purposely so it help us in our game Thanks for the amazing content😊
Can you guys make a video about list of exercises you should do before playing a badminton match? I don't know which exercise to perform 😅😅😅. Awesome vid btw, keep up the good work💪💪💪
For people getting to grips with this backhand shot an important concept to grasp is that it isn't necessary to put a lot of physical power behind the shot all the time. If you can hit a nice crisp shot at a downward angle, there isn't a lot that your opponent can do with it. Check out mens singles vids and you'll see what I mean. Once you take the pressure off yourself to hit a full clear, focus on turning quickly after hitting and getting back forward again in one smooth motion - imho this is the most important part of the shot. In time, this will lead to you preparing for the shot better and then allowing you to add power when you are in a better position to do so.
This was an seriously amazing video specially the most surprizing fact was that i have been using a back hand grip since so long to execute it which is totally wrong. Also i have a request make a video on singles defence. By the way love from India and incase ever you are in here i deliberately invite you to come and have a dinner with my family and also have a few knocks with me.
