Thanks for a really good quality permanent remembrance of a fantastic gig. I have been following him for 50 years, been to probably 30 or so of his gigs in various places and I think 7 State Theatres. This gig is in the top two alltime for me. He was in great form, the band was superb, the sound excellent, a full house and a setlist that was perfect for the night. Special shoutout to having both Danny and Jak as guitarists on the night. Took some of the songs to another level. So good that we can enjoy these musicians at this stage of our lives and their lives. Long may they run!
Yes, an outstanding performance from all involved. I almost didn't go. So pleased that I changed my mind when he announced the re-release of the three albums, particularly "Prussian Blue". I mostly video a selection of songs from the gigs I attend for my own remembrance. I find it very frustration how quickly I forget them otherwise. If my videos help others remember then that's an extra bonus for me. Thanks for commenting.
So good and just love Aussie Music. Lucky to be old enough to remember when Pubs played live music. Hot sweaty nights in the Bridge Hotel @ Rozelle, VB on tap and the room smoke filled and Richard Clapton absolutely kicking ass on stage. Long live LIVE music and Aussie Rock Rules, you're a true legend Richard Clapton.
YES this gifted man has always been the real deal FROM THE BONDI LIFESAVER. WHERE I FIRST MET HIM TO TODAY .HE IS STILL THAT MAN AT THE LIFESAVER ..HIS VOICE IS SOMETHING ELSE . . SEEING HIM 4 THE 10 TENTH THOUSAND TIME ...STILL BRINGS OUT THE BEST.YEARS OF MY LIFE ...FABULOUS FABULOUS CONCERT .GREAT SOUND ..AWESOME BAND ..RICHARD YOUR JUST YOU AMAZING .YES RICHARD U R A LION ...JUST KEEP ROURING OUT YOUR MUSIC ....WE LOVE IT .....C U AGAIN .....
I’m glad I was there for this. It was a perfect set list, the acoustic set was sublime with three songs I’ve never heard live. To top it off all three of them are here in this video! The band and back up singers were outstanding. Richard was in great voice and spirits. Prussian Blue is my new favourite album. If you haven’t heard it before well with buying. And don’t forget the fantastic venue. It’s been decades since I’ve been there and it’s honestly worth entry to any gig just to experience it. I’m back every year until it stops.
Prussian Blue has always been my favourite Richard Clapton album. There are many other brilliant songs on the other albums but as an overall album I've always had a very soft spot for his first album. So I really wanted to attend this concert knowing he'd be playing more than just the usual "Prodigal Children" or title track. I would have been very happy if he had played even a couple more but like you I was very pleased with the concert's setlist. Thanks for commenting.
THERE IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT RICHARD CLAPTON. I JUST CANT PUT MY FINGER ON IT. I TRIED TO CONTACT HIS MANAGER CUPL OF YEARS AGO WANTING HIM TO COME TO NZ. HES THE REAL DEAL.
He's a wonderful singer/songwriter and a great performer. He seems to be limiting his live performances these days. But he does still do a lot of festivals. Your best bet in NZ might be if he crosses the ditch for one of those.

Excellent gig…surrounded by top musos, he hasn’t lost any of the magic. Privileged to be there.
It was an exceptional concert. So glad I decided to go.

An under rated musician with a great band thanks for posting 👏
A giant of Australian music. Glad you enjoyed it.
Aussie Legend!..😎 Great to hear his voice and see him traveling ok..✌❤
Sadly, I couldn't get to this show and what a cracking gig it was! Thanks for sharing Peter.
Sorry you couldn't make it. Hopefully, next year's will be just as good. Thanks for commenting.

Great to see RC back one of Australia’s most under rated Artists
“Sitting out on the Palm Beach Rosd,
I’m so drunk and the car won’t go…”
Music of my youth ❤
Sounding great.
Unforgettable gig. Thanks for posting this record of an amazing night.
Bloody legend, still got it in spades.🎶🎶🎶
Richard Clapton is the greatest 🙌
Total Aussie legend. 🎉
This man is AMAZING!!! 🇦🇺🤩💯🎸😎 I wish I was there 😢😎🥳
Wow, Goodbye Tiger is about 45-46 years old. My best life memories during that period. The old buggers vocals are still pretty well intact. ❤🙏
Ahhhh, welcome back Dicky Clap!
Saw him in Sydney when I was there in '83, 'girls on the avenue' etc, such a good artist.
Still going strong as this performance shows.
Great stuff
Great musician, sounds as good as he did 40 years ago 🤙
Definitely is. Definitely does.
He and his band are a gem.
Sang our 70s Thoughts + Feelings
A legend !
An Australian icon. The soundtrack of so many of our lives.
saw him 85 in a small hotel in 7 hills glad hes still rockin😂😘😋
Real survivor

Yes indeed RC is simply the best in Australian Pub Rocknroll since 1977 with Goodbye Tiger album which I used to that vinal L.P.
👌😎
i was amazed he still can reach high pitch voicing , its was good to hear songs from the Prussian Blue Album
👍
OMFG😀
From minute 34.......always great to see "Jak" Housden get a chance to wig out on guitar. So under-rated. Richard goes alright as well :-)
I still rate The Great Escape as one of the finest albums ever.
dark spaces leaves it for dead check it out
Aussie artist were absolutely fleeced by the record companies and promoters
Who is the drummer? Beautiful technique. Such class l
All the band members are named in the description. A first class band.
Lee Moloney - drums
Jak Housden is an awesome guitarist
He is indeed. Excellent throughout this show.
I was looking for "Girls on the avenue"
It was an encore which I didn't record. A wonderful way to finish up.
Who was the band line up and back up vocals on this ?
All of that is in the description.
Bel-Air hotel Kotara Newcastle.its gone, he's still here.
Not bad from old Ralph. Mahalia Barnes singing at the NRL grand final in jeans and things was way better. She has her big mug everywhere
Richard's voice now sounds rather weak in my opinion.
He is in his mid seventies so not going to be as he once was however I was at this gig and his vocals were strong and clear even if he has to push it.
