I just love this movie. I know it has had the Hollywood treatment but it doesn't take away from the wonderful achievements of this truly remarkable Missionary. God bless her.

Lovely rendition. I first saw this movie as a young boy at Clark AFB, Republic of the Philippines, 1971. Jen Ai saved 100 children. Almost 50 years later, the movie still hits me hard.

I agree, the real life story is amazing, and so is the movie. :)

Yes. There a few of us out here who love this film. And I do not believe adding a fictional love interest damaged Gladys' reputation at all. Even if it irritated her.
So. Very glad you were bored and threw this together. I adore Jurgens and Bergman.
    Thank you.

@Rachel Just a bit of trivia - Bergman said Jürgens had more charm in his little finger than most men had in their entire body.
And I do love the song and the video. Many thanks.

@@noraedwards3419 she certainly was quite right ehehe I'm curious, when did she say that? Was it an interview or something?

@dancing. If you are asking about Bergman's comment, the information came from the German Film Institute. Their source is cited from an article written in 1958.

Did you not know this is a true story? She did a miraculous Journey and took all those children from the clutches of the Japanese! By herself! She was phenomenal even when her missionary board didn't believe in her and didn't want to send her there to be a missionary. She went on her own! What a woman too bad we don't have more like her today! Anyone can do great exploits if they do it with God! She did The Impossible but With God all things are possible! Read the book it goes into more detail of course.😄

I actually did know and I did read the book! :) It was an incredible story to be sure! Even though the movie wasn't entirely accurate, I still think it did her story justice. ^_^

Ist so sad they added this Lovestory to the Movie! I just read the book “Gladys Aylward, the woman with the book” in her last years a rumor came up she had an affair with the Chinese officer and she was so up-sad about this cause it wasn’t true! She had such a precious life! And to add something like this, takes all the focus from her meek and faithful life. God used her and she let God use her. She’s an huge example for me and it makes me also to want draw near to him and giving him my whole life!
I recommend to everyone to read a book that shows her true Life!

It wasn’t. It was added just for the movie. XD
