We were in the car, and this song was on the Belgian radio. I was thinking, wooooow I am loving this so much, I have to look it up and put it in my playlist. I can't believe this is the Eurovision song from France! Visez la victoire, mes charmants voisins! Vous le méritez vraiment! 12 point de la Belgique with love! Voilà; Voilà, Voilà ...
Wow merci 🙏
Possibly the most beautiful language in the world. Love from Greece 🇬🇷🇫🇷
If this masterpiece doesn't do well in Eurovision, I will lost faith in humanity, in the eurofans and in Eurovision, go Barbara you have everything, you are already "une grande"
It's a good song but I think like it won't do well in Eurovision bc it's just wrong format, you need either a very powerful ballad(preferably ethnic) or a banger
@@snowyoon are you serious lol you don't know anything in eurovision it's blatant, firstly there are no "formats" for eurovision, and if this is not a power ballad for you I can nothing for you.

France sending a good song after 143 years. I WAS waiting for this!!!
We were all waiting for it
Even without the music the lyrics written are absolutely poetic. It's as if someone put a pen to their broken heart and these were the words it wrote. Such beauty in the sorrow of it all. I'm usually more into Hip-Hop, Metal and Punk but this absolutely resonated with me.
Right there with you!
This is art! I am happy when I hear the songs in the languages of your countries. If one sings well there is no need to understand the lyrics. Long live the national languages! 12 points from Italy! 🇮🇹❤🇨🇵

@@pb2885 don't forget what they did to Requiem! They put English in it and they change a bit the music as well. The truth is that they can't do a lot with a classical French song like Voilà! At least I hope so!
Barbara's singing style reminds me of Edith Piaf - the lyrical poetry & the emotional depths in it are so elegant. This song perfectly represents France, specially the exquisiteness of french music.
And you can enjoy it even if you dont speak french ❤❤❤
The way she rolls her r's is VERY like Edith Piaf.
I was just thinking this!
Didn't she sing La Vien Rose?
Exactement
Because of entries like these, I'm a particularly passionate Eurovision fan, with body and soul. It's not that I want every country to sing in its own language and only let out local sounds, but songs like these are the beauty of the contest for me. I hear a wonderful and interesting French song, sung by a beautiful, expressive lady, I don't understand a word, but I don't have to, because I feel so much and for that I am so grateful and it is just so wonderful to live, appreciate and celebrate diversity.
Agreed
Agreed , one don't need to learn language to feel it

To explain, this song is history of singer because Babara Pravis wrote this song. She write a lot song for other singers but with this song she can't hide anymore. "Voilà" means "it's me, I introduce myself to you". So with this song she become a real singer with her complexs, defaults.
Wow, knowing about what the song is about makes it even better and more touching. Thank you so much for explaining.
I am SO glad France has gone back to a more traditional sound...I LOVE authentic sounding French music, sun in French and sung with emotion/passion. I can see EXACTLY why this is hovering at the top of the betting odds. Its soooooo classy, pure, raw and authentic. Love it! Well done France ;-)
This has to win!
I am still so mad this didn't win, this is 10 time better than whatever song Manėskin did

It's been almost 3 years since I first heard this song. The song is very beautiful, it expresses a lot of emotions, especially at the end of the song, Barbara sang it beautifully and it remains a pity and a wonder that this song did not win, even though we know that the competition for the best song is not what it used to be, but here we are left to listen to it

Who cares ? It doesn't proove anything about her song and the music style she chose for "Voilà". Valentina's song is a great entry, very well written for children and youngsters. Unfortunately, "Voilà" is a bad copy of what French people listened to 70 years ago. I love Piaf, Brassens, Barbara, Ferré and Brel. I am 52 now, but I don't want an old-fashioned and outdated song to represent my country. My only wish is that France wins the trophy and takes it back home. This song will seduce only some jurys, but certainly not televoters around Europe or in Australia. In 2021, French music landscape is far richer and way more diverse than this waltz.
