Tezzr Terry Oh definitely man and I'm sure this old Chevy C10 pickup with this exhaust on that cammed Aluminum LS6 Corvette engine will make a lot pretty girls shiver they're bones like no tomarow as well as scaring a bunch of wild life.
I grew up with my dad's daily driver being a c10. I remember learning to work on it and both my dad and I could basically climb into the engine bay to work on it. So much room for activities!! Lol
The muscle truck was my inspiration for my own 74 stepside “Project SteppinWolf”. Ls swap, nitrous....but I recently took it a step further with a budget turbo build on it as well. 👍🏻
Gotta say- if you're not sure on what to do in life look to these guys. Decades of pursuing their passion and communicating it over different forms of media as the years have passed. I'm sure there's been some highs & lows. It would be cool to get a "Star Wars Episode 1" perspective on Fri/Finn/Dul from over the years. I saw the episode of how David met Steve- would be great and inspiring to see what it has taken to get to where Roadkill is today. Really- thanks for the work.
depending on the part of the truck you look at it could be anything from 1973-1991 because the 1 ton and suburbans were still square bodies until the change over for the 1992 model year
Here Kitty Kitty ! Only on the 1500 trucks. You could get a square body suburban or 2500/3500 up until 1991. They had a facelift to two headlights side by side above the turn signals.
Here Kitty Kitty ! No he isnt. The half ton and 3/4 ton pickups stopped in 87. the Blazers, Suburbans, and 1 ton pickups kept the body style all the way until 1991.
I love everything about this truck and if you ever get rid of it or ruin it I'll never speak to you again, Freiburger. There's just something special about it.
I’m driving the 79 GMC that my father purchased new that year and left to me after he passed. I had the original block built and she runs beautiful to this day.
It's pretty massive, while not particularly expensive I'd estimate 50-60 bucks at a hole in the wall sign shop, more if you have them put it on. The expense comes in shipping it out. It would have to be rolled in a tube and tubes cost money and shipping is more than just a stamp.
14 years old i was making bank at that age. well go and harass your folks like a good little millennial snowflake then till they pay for a subscription.
Yes understood; try the month then cry if you must. Really what did you spend at Starbucks this week. MTOD cost less than 1 grande anything, you get a MONTH.
Bring the muscle truck to Indy this fall. My first truck was a 76 Chevy Stepside with a discounting 250 tree speed trans. I loved the truck, but 65 mph was its top speed. Would love to see the muscle truck in person.
To anyone who might care, Finnegan has his own youtube channel, he's done some pretty cool videos and they maintain some of that old school roadkill feel (if that's a thing). Not hating on Motortrend or the guys, good luck.
Roadkill Rocks!!! Forget all the haters...This is about fun and throwing some parts of this and that together in a rush and try to race or make a trip....This is just soo much fun.
The Roadkill Muscle Truck always reminds me of something I saw in a magazine when I was kid. Mr. Freiburger may remember an automotive magazine called "PV4", which stood for "Pickups, Vans, and 4-wheel drives". It was a mag dedicated to those types of vehicles and in a time before Consumer's Reports existed, this was your bible, if you were considering buying a pickup, van or 4-wheel drive, because all they did were new vehicle and new product tests. There might be 5 or 6 tests in a magazine, interspersed with editorial articles, like "ask the editor" or "tech tips", those kinds of things. They started in 1972 and were a quarterly publication through 1973, going monthly for the next 10 years until it became "Vans and Mini trucks" in the early 80's, reflecting that craze at that time. Anyway, it was either the 2nd or 3rd quarter issue from 1973, they featured a test on a 1/2 ton Chevy truck. That was a brand new body style then (what we now refer to as the "square body") and the example they got for the test was a 1/2 ton, short and narrow with a big ol' 454/TH400 setup, probably with 3.73's in the rear end (which was the stock ratio all Chevy trucks got back then). Their opinion was Chevy did a good job updating the truck and the drive train made it one of the funnest vehicles any of them had driven in recent memory. In fact, my dad replaced his 1960 Apache 10 with a 1974 Chevy C10, partly due to that article. I remember they did a big centerfold action picture of the truck in that issue, with someone pulling a big ol' brodie on a dirt lot somewhere. Cool as heck, to a 10-year old. 😉 I remember it was red and that redd-ish fender on the Roadkill Muscle truck, plus the short and narrow bed and square body body style, always takes me back to seeing that picture in that magazine (which I might still have....somewhere). Anyway, little anecdote from my life experiences.
Don't quote me but I think that steering wheel was also put in C3 corvettes. Not sure on the year but I have seen them (or something similar) with that same wheel.
Hey Frieburger, that isn't an original hood. The raised panel portion on the front of the hood marks it as either a re-pop, or an OE '78-80 hood. '73-77 didn't have that raised portion, and re-popped hoods all have the raised portion.
these trucks are so easy to mis mash - my 69 has a late 70's early 80's 305 (with quadrajet), a chev tailgate, 90's dodge seats(actually fit really well, i recommend this mod!). And transmission...I have no clue there, all I seem to have it D R and N L1 and L2 there is just a wall (it is a 3 speed!) (I also do not have neutral disconnect or reverse lights!). And my heater control unit seems to be from some sort of 80's Gm, in the summer I need to recirculate my water hoses by -passing the heater core (otherwise I cook out). I do say, this 305 with just pipes (no muffler) is amazing - when those secondaries open up it sounds like the gates of hell opened lol.
Dude, something has happened on UA-cam. Some content creators are getting demonetized. Google has handed tools over to advertisers and corporations to limit or choose what videos get advertisement (never mind how many views a person gets anymore). I'm pretty sure MTC isn't going to suffer as much as others.
Not sure if you guys read these comments but although mtod doesn't interest me, I would dig a series of magazines that document various in depth tests on different kinds of engines. (Like LS engines) So for example a magazine dedicated to about every test and result of what happened in any test about the LS engine. I'm not talking just cam durations here but extremely in depth, thought out tests. Experimenting with valve events, head designs, converters, springs, etc. Id buy that magazine. I want info about my engine that I otherwise couldnt feasibly just test on my own.
Pure class...tens of thousands of dollars in engine alone, took the time to tear the doors apart to install sound insulation, and didn't get crank handles. The great thing is, the 2 vice grips are probably more expensive than the actual handles, but score way higher for style points
zrobotics on one of the episodes of roadkill they say there is around $8000 in the engine. It was a donor vette engine and cams and intake were dirt cheap from JEGS.
I would really like to see you guys build an exit for the exhaust leaving the underside of the car like a twin side exit either with dual exits on one side or one exit per side or both even to see how much a change to the shriek is made with both angle cut and square style tips. All could be made with vband connections for ability to modify configurations without unnecessary cutting and welding
That grill comes from a 1979 Chevrolet Bonanza 10 pickup that came with the 454, and they were long beds, I would know because my Father owned one, and he died then I owned it and drove it through High School. Sadly I came home on leave from the Army in November of 1991 and totaled it.
This is the vehicle that got me interested in roadkill...my favorite roadkill vehicle besides the Rotsun. I also have an Ls swapped 74 chevy truck but im replacing it with an 83 also with an LS swap
That truck has one of the best exhaust notes ever.
Tezzr Terry Oh definitely man and I'm sure this old Chevy C10 pickup with this exhaust on that cammed Aluminum LS6 Corvette engine will make a lot pretty girls shiver they're bones like no tomarow as well as scaring a bunch of wild life.
Tezzr Terry stop repeating something freiburger said
Tezzr Terry yes
Ikr
Tezzr they blow up real good to why would GM build it with gas tank on outside of frame oh yeah it's a GM enough said
This truck has so much character, if you dont love it you're not a car guy
Bianco that truck is kick ass I’m look to build one myself
im not a chevy guy :D
Amen brother!
I’d literally take this truck over any of the roadkill cars...except maaaybe the crusher camaro but this truck is seriously nice
2wd or 4wd, squarebody stepsides give me a funny feeling, 🤣
Can we just stop to appreciate the vise grip window winder?
When they came to Kansas Speedway, I gave them a pair of crank handles. But those regulators were/are junk.
I grew up with my dad's daily driver being a c10. I remember learning to work on it and both my dad and I could basically climb into the engine bay to work on it. So much room for activities!! Lol
So my assumption from this, is that you could never perfectly replicate this truck. And that is what makes it beautiful.
The muscle truck was my inspiration for my own 74 stepside “Project SteppinWolf”. Ls swap, nitrous....but I recently took it a step further with a budget turbo build on it as well. 👍🏻
frieburger wearing shoes and not sandals the world is going to end
And jeans instead of shorts! Disturbing!
jmoneyent9 at least it's a Vans Authentic 😂
OMG run away! The sky is falling, No really somebody check for pods...
Well it’s 2020 and u got that right
Ya, this aged well....
I love the window crank handles, so useful in an emergency repair.
this video saved my search for these wheels ! I've been looking everywhere for Baja style rims for my mustang. Thanks a lot !! keep up the good vids
Set of Roadkill = Side of the road
Says it's a 75 in the description.
You guys edited the description! Sneaky sneaky.
depending on the part of the truck you look at it could be anything from 1973-1991 because the 1 ton and suburbans were still square bodies until the change over for the 1992 model year
George Cramer Nope. You are wrong, the new body still began in 1988.
George Cramer My bad. You are right.
I love the Vice Grip window cranks!
I love everything about this truck and if you ever get rid of it or ruin it I'll never speak to you again, Freiburger. There's just something special about it.
I’m driving the 79 GMC that my father purchased new that year and left to me after he passed. I had the original block built and she runs beautiful to this day.
My impression is that Roadkill has stopped being Roadkill and has started only talking about Roadkill.
okumonux no.
Clearly not a long time fan.. We get one episode a month except at the start of the year because they take a break like every other show.
Actually there are 3 episodes this year, Jay. 2 in Jan and one in March. They took Feb. off.
I find roadkill garage is more old roadkill now. it's fantastic. and so is the 170+ extras on motortrend on demand.
T1000AX HAHAHAH no
Vise-grip window cranks too! Classy
OldRed91 that was an expensive option from the factory to at about 10$!
i would throw my last dime ,to the solid glass roadkill decal , please produce it
old no. 7 Hell yeah. Its fuckin awesome
old no. 7 I call BULLSHIT expensive to reproduce and ship? it's a vynil decal FFS. Definitely trademark ownership issues.
a pretty massive vinyl decal...
I think the point is, if they offer it for $89, they won't sell many, and they will look like douches extorting their audience.
It's pretty massive, while not particularly expensive I'd estimate 50-60 bucks at a hole in the wall sign shop, more if you have them put it on. The expense comes in shipping it out. It would have to be rolled in a tube and tubes cost money and shipping is more than just a stamp.
You forgot about the SAND
Give us regular roadkill on UA-cam
shutup
get a job where you can afford 5 bucks a month. ya leach.
pat mac well maybe I'm a Australian 14 year old I don't have a job and just want to watch roadkill alright!!!!
14 years old i was making bank at that age.
well go and harass your folks like a good little millennial snowflake then till they pay for a subscription.
I love the muscle truck so much! Thanks for the extra about it! Any news on Roadkill nights this year?
vice grips for the window roll-up....... classic! I love it!
I can't even look at the comments anymore without half of them whining about mtod
Yes understood; try the month then cry if you must. Really what did you spend at Starbucks this week. MTOD cost less than 1 grande anything, you get a MONTH.
I know exactly where this was filmed! On the way to gila river farms. South of I10/587 On the Gila River Reservation, AZ
one of the best sounding vehicles in roadkill and HRG
what no flip flops?
Gotta love the soft 8's
road kill needs its own channel. I'm sure motor trend could sort that out
Still to this day, The best exhaust note ever!
Bring the muscle truck to Indy this fall. My first truck was a 76 Chevy Stepside with a discounting 250 tree speed trans. I loved the truck, but 65 mph was its top speed. Would love to see the muscle truck in person.
I am CRAZY about this series and can't get enough...Thanks guys. Keep'm coming. Bob/Okc
Missed your chance to talk about your greatest achievement in life, building those cupholders.
To anyone who might care, Finnegan has his own youtube channel, he's done some pretty cool videos and they maintain some of that old school roadkill feel (if that's a thing).
Not hating on Motortrend or the guys, good luck.
wait... is he wearing shoes?!?
Jo Wa Yes. The Apocalypse is at hand.
Prepare to hoard your gasoline and get your V8 ready. The War Boys are coming.
yup! & canvas ones..not the usual padded nylon/polyester rubbish most ppl put their feet in..its hot in SoCal!
Yes prepare the end is ney!!??..
this thing is the best and most reliable thing that Roadkill has made in my opinion, and its a mix-match of rusty parts
. lol lol lol
ironrhino25 ??sin? haladharmad?esana
The sound of this truck is the best part about imho. I could imagine a whole Opera with that.
My favorite part of the truck has got to be those custom window cranks.
Nothing sounds better than a pair of Dynomax Bullets!!!!!! that tone is the best
I liked her when she was carburated with the Vic Jr intake , but i can understand trying different combos .. Awesome truck
That MONSTER they pulled out of the crusher camaro, and this LS with that exhaust are my favorite sounds.
I think that back tire was on backwards. Look out for puddles!
Awesome truck. The minibikes and muscletruck episode was one of the best ever too.
Roadkill Rocks!!! Forget all the haters...This is about fun and throwing some parts of this and that together in a rush and try to race or make a trip....This is just soo much fun.
Much better than some boring sitcom.

No lie... I love everything about this truck. My dream truck!!!
This truck was at the car show in St.Ignace MI in July.
I love the vice grips as window handles.
GREAT VIDEO DAVID!!!! I LOVE ALL THE UPGRADES!!! THE PERFECT DAILY DRIVER!!!
Gotta love that good old vice grip hand crank fix
That exhaust is wild
the rotsun has to be a close second for most asked about, by far my favourte build. really liked it in the rotsun vs scooby
I love the crimpers as window lever thingys
I've got those wheels on the Jeep and love that pioneer stereo! Sweet truck.
That truck is the BEST ROAD KILL CAR EVER. The muscle truck is the farm truck of road kill
My uncle has a blue muscle truck and it is his favorite truck
Ignoring price , that truck is my favourite custom car, never change how it sounds!
I predict this is going to be the most popular Roadkill extras episode. We will see!
Legit roadkill should make their own UA-cam channel! They would make more money
No they wouldn't. They're making a lot more from MTOD than they're making from UA-cam.
Those window openers! Never change😀
I need me a Muscle Truck!
Wow awesome truck
I just want to see it in person and meet frieburger and Finn that would be so awesome
Don't quote me but I think that steering wheel was also put in C3 corvettes. Not sure on the year but I have seen them (or something similar) with that same wheel.

"It's a bunch of different parts but it's basically a '57" - Best line in any movie ever
Kinda reminds me of that Johnny cash song, one piece at a time.
One of my favorite all time truck's, Awesome!!
Resisting the hate, but Roadkill has created the ultimate sleeper.
I love my 3 Dynomax racing bullet #24222 on my LQ4 swapped camaro. nice mild tone at idle but aggressive at WOT.
That truck sounds so good.
that has to be the most badass truck ever made
You gotta love the note of the exhaust
Nice window roller handles!
I love this truck. Makes me want another one.
this actually what my dream truck is
If you’re turning 3100 rpms w/ 3.55’s and a 31” tall tire your Gear Vender only has a 90.9% OD. Or your converter is slipping badly adding over 10%
I learned to drive on a 74 C10 with posi diff and open exhaust with headers. it was scary as hell! but fun :)
I had the same exact window crank handle on my old Chevy
Odly specific.
They can be used as steering wheels as well!
Dan Soderholm a window crank handle?
ER ..vis.. locking pliers.
Totally in love with that truck it's a beast
I like the custom window cranks best 10:13
They seriously need to get this truck on the Hoonigan daily transmission UA-cam show
I love the multigrip window winders XD
One of my favorite vehicles ever
thanks for telling me what is happening on MTOD Wouldn't know because I am not going to pay for another subscription
magnificent anecdote, chum.
impart it to us once more.
me and you both.
#FuckMTOD
thx you are telling us again and again and again how you are not getting mtod.
Dude, something has happened on UA-cam. Some content creators are getting demonetized. Google has handed tools over to advertisers and corporations to limit or choose what videos get advertisement (never mind how many views a person gets anymore). Pure class...tens of thousands of dollars in engine alone, took the time to tear the doors apart to install sound insulation, and didn't get crank handles. The great thing is, the 2 vice grips are probably more expensive than the actual handles, but score way higher for style points

thumbs up for the universal window winders
Make Roadkill GREAT AGAIN
I would really like to see you guys build an exit for the exhaust leaving the underside of the car like a twin side exit either with dual exits on one side or one exit per side or both even to see how much a change to the shriek is made with both angle cut and square style tips. Wow, they are still making Roadkill? That show is such old news.
Cool truck!! Looks like you were in the Mojave desert while filming this. I used to live in Boron and Barstow.
I'm a sucker for those wheels.
Still one of the best roadkill vehicles, it's actually nice, if it got a full paint job you would never know it was a roadkill truck haha.
I don't even kind paying, this show is badass
Damn I love the sound of that truck.
So why haven't there been an raid kill episodes over the last few months!!!???
There has. Episode 62 was released on March 24th. Episode 63 will be released on April 21st.
Oh dream truck , when will i find one like you.
That grill comes from a 1979 Chevrolet Bonanza 10 pickup that came with the 454, and they were long beds, I would know because my Father owned one, and he died then I owned it and drove it through High School. Sadly I came home on leave from the Army in November of 1991 and totaled it.
FullSpectrum Survivalist : (
This is the vehicle that got me interested in roadkill...my favorite roadkill vehicle besides the Rotsun. I also have an Ls swapped 74 chevy truck but im replacing it with an 83 also with an LS swap
This truck kicks ass
