How to Take Off The L2 R2 Triggers from PS5 BDM-040 Controller - eXtremeRate

- The eXtremeRate PS5 controller buttons set for the BDM-030 controller are compatible with the BDM-040 controller. However, the structure of holding the L2R2 in the BDM-040 is different from the BDM-040, if you want to take them off from the BDM-040, you need a small tool like the SIM card tray pin to help as the video shows.
We will take a full video of how to replace whole buttons for the PS5 BDM-040 controller later.

My controller doesn’t have a hole near the spring, is there a different way?

It’s like the actual plastic mould on the internal part of the controller is blocking the pin from coming out
I’m thinking that older models don’t have this accessibility. I am also facing this issue with gen 1 controller

I figured it out!! if you take the 4 screws that are on the side thats popped, you can pop that whole black section thats covering the rod completely off, just watch out theres a gear trigger that can fall out and was a pain for me to get back in there but it gave me access to that rod and i could pull it with standard plyers and then everything else was just as described

Hi ExtremeRatem, I recently purchased your 4 paddle remap kit and it is excellent. I also purchased and set up the clicky hair triggers for my BDM 020 controller, the problem is though that there isn’t a clicky noise when I pull the triggers, is this normal?
Which version of the clicky triggers you have? The micro switch version will more clicky just like the mouse click, and the tact switch version is more like you clicky the share / option buttons
Do you know approximately how long till the new mouse click and triggers come out for bdm-040? 😮

No way! I didn't know Sony made a revised Dualsense model where it's easier to remove the L2/R2 buttons? That's one of the things that I found tedious. 🤯

What's the difference between bdm 030 vs bdm040? In terms of changes and quality?
The main different is the triggers part structure, maybe it's the cost-down reason (easier the assemble process)
