Drive - This is easily the best part of the Civic.
In most scenarios the ride is refined, grown up, executive like and well damped. Although ride is on the firm side, it is a good firm, which contributes to its overall dynamic, athletic demeanor. The very rigid chassis that it sits on is the driving force behind the Civic's excellent driving experience..

Handling - There's a lot of handling for the power at hand, especially better now with the 18"wheels and Michelin PS4 rubber. One that you can pedal to the metal, not get in trouble and actually have a good time carving the mountains with. It may not have the pace of a hot hatch, but grip it does and has an abundance of via a chassis that is very confident inspiring. In the city, the rather large footprint of the Civic continues to surprise with its natural agility.
Transmission - It's the same CVT transmission, still super for efficiency, dependable, smooth and getting up to speed in general is a breeze. It feels elastic by nature but there is a sweet spot whereby if you apply throttle gradually to match the engine rpm to the rate of acceleration, it negates the sensation of slip and feels more direct.
Tech - Honda Sensing is not advertised anywhere in the cabin and for a moment I wasn't sure if the car had the feature. But upon noticing the inconspicuous lane keep assist steering button, both the ACCS and LKAS lit up signifying its autonomous capabilities. It's very good. It feels very capable especially keeping in lane, with little to no ricocheting effect, sharp eyed in tracking the lane markings and keeps all activity hidden in the background.
In traffic, be it city or highway, the Adaptive Cruise Control is another enjoyment to be had with Honda Sensing. Very dependable right out of the box, and as long as there's a car ahead in sight, the Civic tracks and follows without fuss, even seamlessly continues to track the next car should the current lead car moves over. It allows you to set the desired follow distance as well as max cruise speed, all from the steering buttons.
Auto high beam was a surprising feature to experience at night especially with the Civic's regular reflector type headlights and not the cutting edge matrix LED sort. It may just be a simple hi beam, but found it to be useful and quite precise in anticipating dark roads and alleys, more so keeping in check for oncoming motorists and as tested, even cyclists.
Left signal activates the LaneWatch blind spot camera integrated into the left side door mirror, which provides a video feed to the touch screen display, which include suggestive guide lines to help with judging gap between cars and takes care of rear blind spots. Technically, this LaneWatch function isn't a Honda Sensing exclusive feature, just so you know.

Hmmmmmm my Civic TCP doesn't have the loud CVT whine like this one though. I have many friends who drive this car as well and none of them have heard it either. Pretty weird not gonna lie.

@@kinluke Pushing it upwhill would work it way harder than usual, they reccomend trans fluid changes sooner if you live somewhere hilly. He's probably cooking his shit, I know I start to hear mine if I drive hard enough for a while but yea this loud is nuts.

The mirror camera is stock with the 1.5l turbo civics, as for the 0-20-40, it's basically a mpg gauge thing. More throttle, less mpg bar perhaps.
Bro, based on your drive of the car, do you think this latest TCP with 18 inc rim still suit for daily drive to/back work with heavy traffic? Is it comfortable to the back of the driver for long drive or in heavy traffic? Love all the features of TCP but curious to know its comfort level.
nvh can be improved but overall, it feels refined. Ride quality is good in most situations, mostly firm but more plush than harsh. Michelin ps4 tyres contribute well to the driving expererience. Also, bigger wheels doesn't equate to a worse ride these days tbh, it's the other way round with the modern, rigid chassis.

The CVT is shit. Honda made a gem of an engine but screwed up with that cvt.
Hondas CVT is amazing, the paddle shifters work great. I would choose the CVT over the MT because, the CVT is slightly faster and I also do a lot of city driving and and just hated it to change gears manually and to clutch all the time. If you want to use the car for the track a lot and not for commuting, then the MT is the better choice.

Nothing happen actually bcoz brake has been applied to the transmission shaft, in fact the faster u do it the better ur gearbox wears out...cvt is simple, like a scooter bike belt coz no exact gearing pulley involved which in turn lesser the parts friction points...tbh compared with altis cvt, the civic respond miles better even without the turbo..test driven it long time before but not enuf money to put dp yet at least not this year...
if im not mistaken, vtec only on exhaust side. no more in intake valve, since already have turbo. no VTEC KICKS IN YOOOOO

My dad and I really like the civic turbo but dad says that it consumes fuel really quick so it can be costly for long travels.
Your dad is wrong. Turbo is only for supplement for the acceleration, if you're cruising instead of pedal to the floor kind of driving, your fuel consumption is better than 1.6 or 2.0 cars.

Some CVTs just start whining when driven too hard. Maybe a CVT intercooler can reduce it, on the other hand I kind of like the supercharger sound lol

Honda claims 16kmpl but you got only 9 or 10 at all times.. that is very poor efficiency as per company's claim.. but i noticed you have a heavy foot on clutch plus you are on sports mode always so that might be the reason.. maybe on eco mode you can get 12 or 13

Not sure why but a lot of youngsters seems to like this car. I generally prefer driving dynamics hence I went for the Toyota Camry instead. Double wishbones at the rear is still my preference. You should consider the altos definitely handles better than the civic. Only thing lacking is the power but in today’s traffic driving dynamics and comfort is a much better option.
