My buddies dad ran out after the plow guy and said he would give him a tip to clear the end of his driveway. The plow guy did it , my buddies dad handed him 2 lolli pops . Later that night the plow guy came back and piled up 6 ft and the end of the driveway .
The lolli pops must've sucked.
I was given permission to plow a yard from the driveway to the front door for a disabled customer. Was down a long dirt road, then a dirt dead and road, single wide house with a yard full of trash. Told them it might tear up the yard and I might hit something doing it. Big mistake plowing it! Got a call later with them freaking out that the yard was tore up and I had ran over their kid's toy. Came back over and the yard was fine, just a bit of grass showing and the customer had actually ran over the toy with their own car as it was their tracks. Turns out this person likes to scam people. Sometimes I don't miss plowing.
7:08 as someone who lives in a town that gets a minimum of 24" before January, follow the truck. Be patient. It saves you anxiety, and repair costs.
If it's salting then you're increasing repair costs by corroding your car
yeah maybe you’ll save on repairs but not car washes or rusted out parts
I plowed snow years ago for landscaping company. It was very interesting in the apartment parking lots especially if there was a few hills. You can find cars abandoned all over the place.
Plowing snow is a lot of fun. I made my own snow plow, a home built blade on a rusty PT Cruiser, keeps my acreage clear.
My grandfather used to plow snow and I'd go with him when I had a snow day. The most excitement we ever had were his trucks constantly breaking down. People were pretty well-behaved whenever we were out.
As a snow plow guy underwear in a story is never a good thing

I plow snow in Pa the most aggravating thing I encounter is dumb ppl that gotta go to dollar general I have alot on my route. People will literally pull infront of me to park right where I’m pushing or as I’m backing up will pull in an back right in the area I’m plowing they have zero consideration but will complain about the lots.

Been plowing for 10 plus years we had a contract with a church sometime back in a small city and while i was plowing the longest stretch of the lot a car pulled in and stopped right next to the line of snow i was plowing and i had to stop with a huge mound of snow. I asked why did you stop there and the responds was they told me to park here mister. There was an apartment complex next door and they would use my lot to move cars so they could clean their lot after that i would push snow mounds at all entrances until i had the lot fully cleared. Still plowing to these days but not that church

Moral of the story. A snow plow contractor makes a shipload of money. At nighttime, police will NEVER bother you. In fact, most nights you can even stop at your friend's house for a couple hours; eat a pig and slam back a few beers while getting PAID big money from the taxpayers for partying and having a blast.

WHAT PAIN did he mention? He stated he often hung out at his friend's pig farm drinking adult beverages while getting PAID. Cops would NEVER bother him, (test his alcohol level). Only ONCE in 3 years did he meet some guy that was upset about having his driveway blocked. OH...THE PAIN!
@@tjmmcd1 obviously you live in an area that it did not snow if you don't understand how much of a pain in the ass it is dealing with a snow plow or shoveling snow yourself are dealing with Psychopaths when you're trying to snow plow and they're trying to do whatever the hell they're doing that day it's a lot more complicated than he made it seem

ALWAYS make friends with the plow guy! Not coffee or any BS like that... Apartment living, just be out there... make the effort. They'll notice real quick and while you make their job easier, they will return the favor 10 fold
Yup. There was on guy on my route that always waved and was friendly to me so I would angle my blade away from his drive to not push as much into his driveway which was possible because his was a narrow street with no houses on the other side of the road.
I live in Michigan, and several years ago, I fired up my snowblower so I could clean up my driveway and sidewalks. I decided to be a decent fella and took care of the sidewalks for an elderly couple who lived across the street from me. The next day, they had the temerity to call the State Police on me. Their justification for doing so was because I supposedly scared them since I'm a big guy, and I rarely smile.
His jacket even reminds me of the one Homer Simpson wore in the Mr. Plow episode😂

I once lived across from an apartment complex, my first winter there they pushed a bunch of snow across the street into my yard, the second time they tried to do that I caught them and made them remove everything they pushed up there from the last snowfall. sounds petty I know, but they had plenty of room to just push it off the end of the parking lot, they were just being lazy and my yard was small.

I do snore removal still and I just saw between a tire shop and a home depot. A Chrysler 300 M that was pushed off the embankment in between the 2 businesses. It was funny

Once the snow hits it, the snow melts. Same concept as the sea not freezing, but a lake will freeze solid in the same temperatures.

I have 50 driveways, a few small parking lots, and a few private roads that I take care of every snow storm. One of the private roads I plow is gravel with 2 houses on it. The people at the end pay for the whole road because the Connecticut transplants that live in the other house refuse to pay for snow plowing. The guy is middle aged short with a mustache and big gold chains and is always bitching about keeping the blade up so I don't scrape up the road. One time I heard him hooting and hollering "What the F is this you Fing idiot" etc so I reversed very quickly to his location, hopped out of my truck and got right in his face. In the process of moving hundreds of pounds of wet snow boulders from infront of his driveway, I accidentally scraped some gravel up. We exchanged some words, I banned him from the pub that I own, and he used to frequent. The other neighbor eventually got a restraining order against him and he moved.

If you see a Mitsubishi Evolution in your rear view mirror, let them pass. They probably will anyway. They likely want to drive through the snow, not on the plowed surface, and they will do it a lot faster than your truck. Sharing for "a friend" haha.

I was plowing was going through town had a driver get impatient and pass me on the right while the blade was down went halfway on the sidewalk to do it cause i was splitting the lanes to salt 2 lanes with one pass also like 2a.m so as im throwing snow here come dumb dumb on the right with his window down passes me gets a car full of snow decided he wasn't done hit the brakes and got it again as i went by and if that wasn't gonna be the highlight of dudes night the cop that was following me a ways back to nab cars that tried to pass the plow was lol😂
The blades all have a spring system on plow trucks so you can smoke a man hole all you want and it won’t damage anything. Unless you had some ghetto cheap piece of crap plow which in that case it would prob break eventually without hitting anything as the springs are shock absorbers on the plow so other stuff like welds, bolts, the truck frame doesn’t break or get bent lol.
That is the most egregious run on sentence I have read today, period.

Rob all I can say is while watching this, do the world a favor, and slow down, as you guys do 40 mph at night with barely a quarter of an inch of snow on the ground, which tears the crap out of the road to the point that my neighbor has her entire sidewalk covered in 6 inches of Macadam from the road itself as we speak from the snow plow plowing the road way too fast and just tearing it to pieces
and I bet that guy who was watching you was a victim of that, to say nothing of the damage that speed does to the road as a whole between the manhole covers being out of wack, raised, lowered or completely out of spec and off to the side, so that when you think your safe you hit it
or the frost heaves that is a result of you guys just slamming the road down and buckling it, especially at stop lights where the weight of the truck is directly transferred into the Macadam from having to stop in a hurry with an 8 ton truck
which might explain why this video only has 32K views and not much sympathy below
