I wanted to get out of there either before or after sunset. On my drive east in the morning, I had the sun in my eyes the whole way. I didn't want it in my eyes driving home
The specimens of sphene I've collected at this local don't need to be "polished up." It's not something any decent mineral collector or dealer would do given they can be spotted from a mile away. I've seen Chinese dealers in Tucson trying to pass the stuff off; sickening.

Glad you Updated your camera, better visual for sure! Gibson Rd is a really good spot. most people do not realize that you can find Tremolite here as well as the Titanites and gem green Apatites etc!
Loved the adventure! Have never seen an Titanite Arrowhead (and so large). It was great seeing Daisy too... sorry that she's having to go through the hassle with the Vets.... Lets hope they can get/retrieve whatever is in her nose. Great Episode!

Mineminemine, i like that you used the seagull voice from Nemo. Titanite is such a pretty crystal. Weather there seems about the same here. Not completely Spring, but Spring non the less. I also have a bone to pick with a hole i dug out. But thats 2 years ago now. Its a promosing Calcite hole. Lots of good crystals you got there. nice!
Hi Greig ~ Always the intrepid rock hounder ! I had not realized the 'extent' of your hand injury. Very sorry to hear you've had such a bad time of it. My Dear husband was bitten badly on his right hand index finger ,early February, and almost lost the finger. Plastic surgery, hand therapy and lots of tlc. He is a Landscape/Gardener and makes his living with his hands. God bless you guys and your hands. And your Daisy ( big sister to Shelby *;* ) is there something in her nose...? I will tell you when I was a girl our sweet dog got into a tackle box and had fish hooks in her mouth and nose , just awful. The vet did not see one of the hooks way up in the nostril and I found it . We took her back to get the last one out....poor darlin'. She was fine. Did your Daisy get her nose near any tackle by an chance...? Sending her much Good Health and Vitality ~ and You too and your Family. Heard about the severe lockdowns in your neck of the woods ~ sorry for everyone. Here on the Island it is pretty much the same. People and Families isolating and being respectful of each other. Tough and challenging times for our Planet. It does a Heart GOOD to see you and your Daisy out and about being FREE and Fully ALIVE ~ LOVED the rocks, especially the clusters ! I have had Daisy to the vet twice. This week she got x-ray and it might have seen a foreign object way up there. I am thinking a migrating broken porcupine quill. She probably needs to go for an MRI and nose probe in Toronto. Waiting for the appointment.

That had to have been a difficult dig with all the dirt crystallizing up with ice probably a lot of things look like crystals out there that day huh still an awesome vid though keep up the good work🤟✅
The day warmed up, but we still had the mud. I am sure we misidentified many crystals that were caked in clay. A good rain to wash them up and someone will have a nice time there.

Mine is compression fractured in two places. The brace is supposed to help with the healing. I hope to be back on my feet in weeks, not months. I am following doctor's orders. Still, I am glad that I can wiggle my toes and have feeling in the wobbly bits.

Yes, I was very relieved for the same, 1/2 dz fractures from L1 down, they didn't bother looking further up, where I'd cracked 2 in the previous 2-yrs (one trying to save Tess) Neurologist thought I'd been in a car wreck! Discovered severe Osteop as well, which was huge shock. I'm guessing you were Adventuring when you took a tumble, my excuse was I rotated my pelvis in bed then sneezed - oh the indignity! Oh the agony - do hope you'll soon be back out there - how's your leg? You've got to get down South one of these days, remember?! Very glad you have loving family to support your recovery - that is huge help and Daisy's wagging tail always brightens a dark corner. Little steps, Gina :)
Congrats on finding so many sphene. I know, not the correct modern mineral term but it just sounds better than saying Titanite. As for the feldspar, I think its scapolite. At least one of the faces of rock I collected on in the upper part of the hill had 10 cm wide crystals. I didn't find much Titanite associate with it in that pocket. Good to see the local is still giving up decent minerals. Hopefully the restriction on international visitors from the U.S. will get to the point where proof of vaccination will allow yanks to come for a visit.
I think that will happen fairly soon given the vaccine production rate and the resistance to certain individuals in the U.S. from taking the vaccine. A recent study of the U.S. Marine Corp said that 39% are declining to take the vaccine. I expect the pattern to be the same with the general population. It will probably mean that doses will be shipped to Canada to the U.S. sooner instead of later and you will get you wish. I just don't know if a similar pattern not wanting to take the vaccine will happen in Canada. My wife and I have taken the first dose of the Moderna vaccine, had just a sore arm, and recent info indicates the first dose is 80% effective. I get my second dose on the 19th. Hers a few week later. Unfortunately our efforts to help reduce the spread won't help achieve herd immunity if 40% of adults refuse to take the vaccine and we have fear that our 8 month will be at risk of contracting it when we fly. I know they are talking about immunizing children but it's still an experimental vaccine and I don't think its ethical to experiment on children given they can't give informed consent. Anyway, sorry about the long diatribe. Please keep up the fun video.

You can still go outside lol just limit long trips. Other than that you aren't going to populated areas, and its classified as physical activity so you're good man
@@aarondavidson9540 Last time there was this kind of lockdown, the local municipalities stopped rockhounding at the public sites. It's not because it is outside, it is because they didn't want people flocking into their area.

It can be cut for jewelry, but is relatively soft (5.5 Mohs). Best just to keep as a shelf specimen
