Why did they make so much £/$ by Goldfinger?
My late parents who were in their mid and late 20’s lived through rationing in 🇬🇧🇬🇧 until around 1954. Entertainment was ‘black and white’ drab, kitchen sink dramas on TV if you were lucky to have a TV
When Dr. No came along it offered the Cinema goers the chance to see Far off exotic places, wonderful food, wonderful fashion, fast cars, colour and someone who was licensed to kill for their government
My parents worked hard every day but could not have afforded to go on ‘holiday’ abroad
I know that the top end brand ‘FLORIS l’ has been connected to the franchise

Yes Ian Flemings was Floris 89 not Bond as so often is wrongly said. Bond wore Eucris and Dunhill.

In 1964, before Goldfinger was released, the first two Bond movies were re-released as a double feature in movie theaters. Dr No and then immediately followed by From Russia With Love. I have always liked Dr No as that introduced the James Bond franchise.
