That module on the left - the part number on it, MOE10F4, comes up as a quad 10GBE SFP module made by ForcePoint themselves. It sells for significantly more than you paid for this entire device. If you don't need four more ten gigabit connections you could potentially sell the module for a couple of hundred pounds and actually have a server with negative cost!

Nice find indeed. Has real DIMM slots, SATA, good cooler, and all these ventilation holes. Really nice unit, especially for so cheap. It is only 4 core CPU from 2015, but still pretty decent, and very usable. And of course all network ports at the front, which I like too.

I'd be interested to know what problems you have had with the MS-01?

I'll make a short video about it. It runs perfect one windows but esxi is out the question even with the boot flags to ignore the E cores it crashes and won't boot. I Proxmox will install but if looks like it gets stuck when trying to do Pcie pass through

Looks like a nice bit of kit! I was wondering if you could suggest some hardware that I cold play around with pfsense on? Needs to be cheap, quiet (no comms room here) and efficient. I am wanting to learn about network and VLANs etc but my Asus XT8 router does not support VLANs. Thanks!

@@core-computinglab tbh i feel like anything below 600$ is decent imo anything above that your kinda hitting mid tier and over 1000$ your hitting high tier in my opinion that's how i always looked at it. and anything below 300$ your trying to find a way around stuff to see if its possible usually never works how you want it sadly.

@@core-computinglab as it’s a learning tool, I’ll like to find something < £100 really. I’d have to be super confident before switching away from the current setup as I’d have an angry family on my case but I like tinkering!
