- GIDLE have, yet again, outdone themselves with this masterpiece and it’s kinda blowing my mind how such concept hasn’t been done before? Or maybe it has and I forgot completely about it but regardless the elegance and genius that transpires here is a never seen before situation and I am weighting my words! This is a masterpiece from A to Z, every aspects of this is simply amazing, the costumes are marvellous, they’re drop dead gorgeous words cannot do them justice, their voices are terrific, the message is so grounded and timeless unfortunately, the execution of this is flawless and the references perfect!
This belongs in museum and history books I swear.
Them doing such concept and bringing up such topic makes so much sense and I cannot thank them enough for doing this in such a way. It is freeing in a way to have them, such a big group, criticise this society and it makes me love them so much more! Some frames here are denigrating women and their intelligence, bringing women down to only their body and beauty, comparing them to statues on display to be judged etc. That’s such an amazing representation of how fucked up this all is! That’s why I’m saying this comeback is ballsy but I love it and we need more of this! Love them for this!

She comes up with the whole idea not only the lyrics she is a genius we need more people like her in the industry
She does more than just lirycs. Soyeon is always responsible for writing, producing and choosing a style and concept. On some vlogs from their channel u can see that she decides even about nails of gruop and fabrics and goes straight into cube's chairmans to tell them what they are doing. She has ideas for MV, she even created their logo and name meaning. She is respected as the best female rapper but she is also an amazing producer. Like go and watch my teen girl when she was a mentor of the weakest team and turned them into monsters.

not only the girls had the balls to do all of it but doing this coming from Tomboy which was so successful was a bold move too, they could have chosen an easier path, something more pop-ish, but the girls have so much respect for the art they are doing that everything they touch becomes special
Thats the thing about Idle, they have never followed trends and played it safe. Their entire discography is unique concepts and genres. They never repeat a concept twice

The cone bra worn by Soyeon is a design by Jean-Paul Gaultier made for Madonna's Blonde Ambition tour which started April 1990. (Madonna's was a pink corset design with not as large cones!!)
Yes the shredded artwork is a reference to Banksy who through a piece of peformance art shredded his "Girl with Balloon" piece which had sold for £1million prior to shredding. It was then sold as a piece named "Love is in the Bin" for £18.5million !!
The Banksy reference was so brilliant it gave me goosebumps!

Her voice is a mix of all of their voices. Minnie, Miyeon, Yuqi, Soojin, Soyeon. She sounds kinda like them all.
This is a work of art, few or almost no groups, especially in the KPOP industry openly talk about the sexualization of women, the message is powerful
This was genius I love the marlyn Monroe concept really slayed also if you didn’t know Minnie’s pink dress moment is a reference to diamonds is a girls best friend and the bullet bra was a very popular older article of clothing used as an under garment during the 40s and 50s Marlyn Monroe most definitely worr some. Another thing the music video story line is very similar to the actual Monroe scandal where her nude photo shoot was shown to the public and she was shamed (also the animated character is the seventh member I needed love her she slayed, her era, ate this comeback up)

Upon watching the MV I really felt like this is a more personal story to Soyeon than their previous title tracks. I feel like this concept has something to do with people's harsh opinions about Soyeon's looks when she's out of the idol make-up and clothing.

I also thought it was a wonderful reason to pay homage to Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Monroe was seen at the time as a beauty and sex symbol, but in fact she was a smart and book-loving person. I learned that the song was also meant to eliminate prejudice from that perspective, which made me like the song.

@@zeroraice2548 But that's the thing, _why_ are sexual thoughts even there in the first place? Can't a woman be nude (literally/metaphorically) without the "Why's she doing that? She's sexualizing herself. Gross." comments? I think the only way to change people's minds is to show them something they might expect (in this case, the concept of physical nudity), but switching it up by not actually showing it or only teasing it as a way to catch people off guard. Make them reflect on why they were expecting something racy, give them a new perspective on what it means to be "nude".
Seeing all the members & the characters portrayed, and Soyeon's scene, made me more open to baring myself. I respect it not being your taste, but the visual aspect, along with the lyrics, ties what idle wants to convey, imo.

Hi! I am honestly blown away by this concept! GIDLE Nxde’s concept of the music video was inspired by the actress Marilyn Monroe and old Hollywood Glamour era. There were alot of historical references in the music video from old Hollywood Glamour era time period, literary references,and messaging of women empowerment.
All of the girls slayed! But Shuhua oh my goodness!
