The finale itself consists of a quintuple fugue on themes present throughout the piece. These are introduced and developed contrapuntally as in such an exhaustive way as would have Reger himself. The music grows more and more intense and complex, the counterpoint is so dense and deftly composed that one critic described it as a "Dionysian orgy". The contrapuntal impetus is briefly interrupted by a more lyrical section, which leads us to a massive resolution of the fugue with full irruption of the orchestra. A short but jovial coda ends the entire work in a victorious gesture.

My favorite composition of Szymanowsky...the music of those days...artists discovering the new modern world, a new way to see and to compose....
Very interesting,thanks👍
I admire this composer.
Beautiful symphony
The second part has a nice construction. 🎵👍
Build-up at its best, with occasional Francks...
