    Thanks for sharing, I like how you use the plastic cover to use as a guideline for icing the cake! I am wondering if you can slice the cake so we can view the inside of the cake pls!

    • @CupcakeSavvysKitchen
      @CupcakeSavvysKitchen  8 років тому

      +Olivia Stefanski I love that plastic trick too, very handy! Unfortunately I couldn't slice this cake as it was made for someone and I couldn't give them a sliced up cake! Usually if I am making something for the family I will slice it or cut into it in the video, but when i don't slice something up or dig in you can be pretty sure it's for someone else :-) Thanks for watching.

    I will definitely be baking this for my birthday -!!
    I wanted to know, if I were to add halved or crushed Ferrari rocher or wafers in the filling along with the nutella ganache, would it get soggy? or how long before do I have to assemble the cake to avoid it getting soggy.
    thank you for the quick reply too . !

    • @CupcakeSavvysKitchen
      @CupcakeSavvysKitchen  8 років тому

      +Sharon Sam The wafers would eventually get soggy. The halved Rochers may be ok. What about some crushed hazelnuts? I would love to see a pic if you decide to make it! Thanks for watching :-)

    When you smooth your cake, I noticed you were cleaning it off after each stroke which is the best technique. When you used the bench scrapped you kept lifting it, try to keep the scrapper intact with the cake the whole time while you move the turn table, like as a fluid motion. Also the drips were okay, but when you try to man make the drips, such as following the piping bag down the cake to create them, it doesn't look so good. It's better to use a chocolate ganache instead of actual melted chocolates, and sort of flooding a drip is that makes sense. Holding the piping bag on one place and squeeze till it get to the desired length. Love the idea of the cake though!

    For the drip u use only melted chocolate?

  • @sharonsam441

    how long Will this sit out on really hot desert climate ? wouldn't the chocolate melt ?

    • @CupcakeSavvysKitchen
      @CupcakeSavvysKitchen  8 років тому

      +Sharon Sam It can be refrigerated up until you need it. If it's very hot, I would not leave it out more than one hour. It will begin to soften the longer it is left out. To make a firmer ganache, add less cream and more chocolate. Thanks for watching :-)

    can we use milk chocolate for the ganache instead of dark chocolate ?

    • @CupcakeSavvysKitchen
      @CupcakeSavvysKitchen  7 років тому

      Yes, you can use Milk Chocolate if you like, you will just need increase the ratio of chocolate to cream to 2.5:1 OR 3:1

    Use ganache, it won't set so fast and won't look that messy

    • @CupcakeSavvysKitchen
      @CupcakeSavvysKitchen  6 років тому +1

      For this particular cake, the rustic messy look is what I was looking for. But for this cake, the smooth ganache drip is what I was gong for ua-cam.com/video/IlZyjRRCdEg/v-deo.html

    The cake looks stunning, but I think it will be too "cakey" with way too little nutella cream. Extremely little nutella was applied between the layers of cake, and not too much was applied on the outside, either.
