I had one but had the 318 taillights kept falling out. Can't believe they actually glued them in from the factory but they did and the electronic Lean burn was a nightmare 👺
I had one bought used that was a gorgeous car. Red with a white vinyl top, 318 engine that was a bit underpowered for a heavy car - but it was a cruiser and not a racer. It developed an intermittent carburetor problem that caused it to want to die at 30 mph and blow black smoke. Traded it in on a new car and got $195 less than I paid for it. The carburetor was not acting up that day.
There is one for sale on Proxibid right now.... probably going to sell in the next day. Looks like a similar model.... red interior, no t-tops... Probably a 318. Junkola. However it is pretty nice car one could drop in a fuel injected 360 in it from a Dodge Ram or Dakota or spend all out and get one of those newer hemis.
If it's a GT the medallion on the front fenders has GT in place of XE. The best way to tell is by the Vin number. If it has an " L " that's the E58 360 four barrel. You really need to look at the left fender tag under the hood. A75, M27,B12,D36,E58,N41 are some of the codes to look for. Someone may have added things to look like a GT. And then again, Dodge was really piecing these cars together back then. I bought one in 1979 T Bar /T- top's, E58 engine red on red with white GT strips, rally wheel's etc. A true XEGT, And After 40 years I STILL have it. 25,000 miles later. looks like the day I bought it 40 years ago. Always garage kept. I hope they restore the one in the video.
@400Magnum It has had a big response from walk-in traffic too, it should sell soon. They have a Pontiac GTA next to it up front which also attracts attention. Have a good day
I never put prices on videos- Videos are made once and prices are made to drop!!!!! Car is SOLD anyway! Watch for more cool classics coming next week from this dealer - A Barracuda and a GTO are suppose to come in.
My Grandfather has a REAL XE GT. All Red on Red. it's in original form and in mint condition. its's got about 20,000 miles on it and has only been a trophy car. Lee Iacocca offered my Grandfather a blank check for it. He turned it down and has the car to this day. We are in the middle of making a professional video for it.
Yeah. THAT never happened. A real XE GT!!! Yeah? They made 1672 of them in '79. If Lee wrote him a blank check, he just forgot to write $12,000 in it. And when was this? Since Lee is now 91...he PROB didn't even probably didn't even REALIZE he wrote a check, let alone a blank one!
@400Magnum Honestly, I thought I had video of the car running it must have gotten cut while editing. The music is to drown out the background noise because my camera boom mic picks up everything. The music comes from a subcriber who asked if I could use his tracks and always comments on my videos - so I try to give back. I know the economy sucks. If you like american muscle I have a cool video of a Buick Regal T-type you might like - search it on my channel.
@automotiveadbuilder Well, that's cool that you're trying to help someone that supports you. No biggie. Good luck selling the Magnum, I hope if finds a nice home as there aren't many of these left, especially in as nice shape as this one appears to be.
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my password. I love any assistance you can give me
@Azariah Eden I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@automotiveadbuilder Sorry, I can't. I already have my own Magnum, I live in Michigan, and I'm unemployed. If I could afford this car, I'd be there, as it's in pretty good shape, but the cards are stacked against me. All I'm saying is that it'd been nice to be able to hear the car in your video instead of hearing that music over and over again.
This should have been Rick Hunter's car. Badass ride for a badass TV cop.

Gen 3 hemi would fit in nicely
I had one of these beasts. Absolutely loved it.
Extras in the trunk.. yeah that's the ac compressor that wasn't on the engine

On Chrysler products the roof was called a T-bar roof, not a T- Top. ( same thing though )
