well clearly theres old high tech stuff out there just gotta find it! i remember there was this oldmobile from the 1980s that had touch screen controls for the air conditioner ect. which is something i hadnt heard of until the modern cars started coming out with such tech
Awesome machine. Gets the job done woth no fuss and sounds pleasant. Oldie but goodie, definitely. Wish i had one instead of the LG wash plate top loader I have now. Weird how that air pocket kept that white garment from turning over Why does it waste so much time keeping the pump on when all the water is out of the tub already and its not floating
They needed a faster spin, a deeper tub, and the neutral drain portion could have been half as long. Otherwise, these machines were solid gold!!! I was always disappointed in the direct drives.
Feel sorry for you having to press down on the lid switch all that time in order to show the spin. Would you be able to use some kind of object to fit in there?
Wow - what an amazingly smooth running machine-!! Its one of the quietest ive ever seen, and still has a very effective agitator motion, one of Whirlpools best looks like. Makes me sick to see how badly engineered our appliances in this country have become. I bought a new Speed Queen recently after my 40 year old GE Filterflo started rusting out - the Speed Queen was literally the only decent choice left. It would be so great if the new administration could relax the stifling water regulations so manufacturers could start building real washers again - but they would have to get rid of all this cheaply made computer control and cheap mechainics that have replaced these great old washers of the past.
yambo59 maybe we should stage a legit civil protest, dressed as washing machines tho haha, but seriously maybe petitions could work? I am currently saving for my speed queen set in March
lol - seems a worthwhile protest - but as long as the one you have here runs well I would definitely keep it as back up, that's one from the era of quality, hell its a vintage collectors item, "Americana" even-! Which Speed Queen set did you get, the mechanical timer version or the newer touch pad control-? Nothing wrong with the SQ touch pad units either, they aren't plagued with error messages and the pad itself is mil spec and warranted for five years.
Hi Leon! This is Shari from Cassville, Missouri, I would like to make a request to you. Would you be able to make a video with a load of laundry being washed in the avocado green MAYTAG 900 washer please? Thank you! Oh! @@mayfan69 speed queens in the US aren’t even good anymore they are expensive garbage they have issues with suspension, sounds, some slightly older ones have the tubs rust at a certain point and it causes leaks

Miss these machines. This was when Whirlpool still built an excellent quality product.

nice Whirlpool washing machine. Hope you enjoy this for many years to come.
rgoidel Thanks!
@@mayfan69our family Whirlpools lasted over 40 years. They still work.
Love the Whirlpool and Kenmore belt drive machines.
Whirlpool made one of the best machines..
Very cool, Never had Electronic WP here in USA with the standard size tub or 24" cabinet. They were all large capacity 29" cabinet machines.
Awesome machine definitely built to last. I still got my 1979 Kenmore and it's about 36 years old.
It wore out but my mom & dad had a 1978 kenmore washer and it mad the woo woo sound your does to amazing you have it.
@@ericpurkey7502 what’s better my aunt friends or this vintage washer
Built solid & great wash action!
you have a great washer here keep it as long as you can
Nice machine! Awesome Whirlpool quality as always.
Oh yeh ya gotta love the Whirlpool woo woo.
That's a good machine! Strange that they went to the trouble of all that electronics and yet no self-cleaning lint filter!

had an lg washer like yours for about 7 mouths did not like it traded it in on speed queen year later speed queen works great
I would love to see the electronics behind this. I wonder if its a microcontroller or discrete logic gates with a timer.
Didn't knew that these came with electronic controls.
@@KingHarlequin1999 They certainly did, both here in Australia and in the USA
Super awesome machine, just as posted in the automaticwasher.org website!
Nice machine
love that sweet woo woo sound
Has a great "woo-woo" tone.
+Jonathan Vance That was such a soothing sound when I was a kid!

The direct drives are still better than a lot of the top loads today, even the newer Speed Queens
Kenmores are made by Wirlpool.
cool washer they need to start making them like this once again and not the new cheapo junk that does not last
This washer does the pulsating breathing when all of the water is drained out-and during the spin cycles.
Feel sorry for you having to press down on the lid switch all that time in order to show the spin. Would you be able to use some kind of object to fit in there?
With the caress of just one finger!
You found the Dame Edna advert I'm guessing?

I loved these machines when they first came out. Did Malleys/Whirlpool offer a suds saver function with this model?
Hi. Not that I'm aware of, only in the dial versions. You seem.to know a lot about machines of this era?
man I wish we had this model in the U.S.
they did have an electronic control model in the US not this exact model though it was similar
Jon Homrich it was bigger , the USA model
I’m American and I’m planning on installing 50hz pulleys in an American whirlpool washer to increase spin speed
