Have you tried the internal tank filters? On the D model there are two. Its hard to hear the sound properly on video. I have just had a similar sound on the ZX12R and it turned out to be the conrod bearing.
@@MichaelZZRrider Will have a nosey see if there are filters on inside of tank, mine is a C1 model, deffo top end slight rattle, watched a few vids all pointed to shims needed looking at, lower compression on cylinders with shims out of tolerance. Thanks for comment. 👍👍👍👍👍🙂🙂🙂🙂
@ I would even check your fuel pipes….i use E10 pipe made in Italy now as I had some that closed up inside due to the ethanol….tried Kawasaki genuine fuel pipe…the fuel made them so flexible it folded them
I’ve learnt the hard way with carb kits, petrol tap kits etc….if you don’t buy genuine seals etc. The ethanol in the fuel changes the seals into black PTFE tape….and fills your sump up with fuel
@@GlenOliver-RD427cc can deffo happen but Carbs are clean right through. Will keep going through all suggestions starting with internal tank filter. 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍🙂
It will be 1 carb...where the brass needle goes into the float bowl...if you're lucky just the o ring.or the brass jet it goes into
But it runs great when on external reservoir. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@vazza7504 that's because the pump creates more pressure.than gravity fed
I got the same rattle when I seriously overheated the engine. Damaged the bearings probably. Now I got another engine.

In my zzr 600 this ticking noise was from fuel pump. Fuel pump must be new
@@nbotwina gonna check shims and the tensioner that might be causing issues. 👍👍👍
Try a spare fuel pump….might be intermittent as from the overhead tank… gravity is on its side
@@GlenOliver-RD427cc is true, gonna check internal fuel filter to see if that's blocked.
