- The Long Nail Goddesses are a group of women who bond over their extremely long nails. According to nail technician, Maria Ortiz, a Long Nail Goddess "was meant to shine, not blend in." Each goddess has her own unique reason as to why she grew out her nails, but underlying each decision is a theme of empowerment. Despite their length, the women's nails don't hinder their day-to-day activities.

I admit that this was much different than I had expected. What I thought would be "crazy people" turned out to be people with a story. Nice people who, for various reasons, felt the need to "shine" (as one person worded it). I very much like that these women had a place to go and belong. I wish our world had more of this .

Have you tried eating more fruits and veggies? I bounce back between being vegan and vegetarian and I've never had an issue with growing and keeping my nails long 😊

You can do almost everything with these nails. It's not even difficult, you get used to it. You have to bend your fingers in a different way, thats all.
I personally wouldn't grow them that long but I do admire extremely long nails I think they are beautiful ♡

I can relate to nails being an important part of your identity. Having them done and taking care of them are things you do only for your enjoyment. When I first had my son, i kept my nails short and unpainted. Now getting them done again makes me feel more like me :)

I'm a nail technician n if these ladies want their nails like that more power to u. But i have to say nails in and of themselves are very unhygienic whether they are long or short! They carry many parasites bacteria and fungi! So the longer the nail the more of what i just listed u will have!

U may benefit from using a nail strengthening treatment and having short extensions short term then keep having them infilled as thy grow then the longer thy get u have the tip shortened n eventually it will be just yr nails with an acrylic or gel overlay for protection x

When I have 3cm or 3.5cm enhancements I hit my finger on a wall or I had my hand flat on a bench and someone sat on my hand and the pain was excruciating like the nail was being ripped off the nail bed.. So now I rarely make my nails over 2.5cm.. How do these women not injure their fingers?
How do you thoroughly clean yourself? This is a valid point of interest for people who are actually mesmerized by this level of dedication. Not stupid. Just naturally inquisitive to a person with shorter 💅.
