Caroline, you are awesome. I cannot wait to make this loom this weekend and give it a go.

I have the kind of loom that doesn’t flip over so I work from the top and the bottom without flipping the loom. But I weave the same way whether I’m at the top or the btm (btm piece over then under the weft). I can’t get the middle row to stay in the pattern. I’m thinking that if I’m not flipping my loom I need to weave the btm pieces under instead of over in order to make the middle come out right? Also does it matter if you end up with an even or odd number of rows? Thanks in advance. I get dyslexic with this kind of thing!

It shouldn’t matter if you end up with an even or odd number. So if you’re weaving from the top and from the bottom, if you put in an extra row at either the top or bottom it should come out ok. I think I’d have to try it to be sure.

How long does it take to make a rug.

Well, that depends. What size are you planning? The 18" x 24" is half the size of a 2' x 3'. I like to do the smaller size because it doesn't take that long. Depending on how long you work on it a day I'd say you could have one finished in 5-7 days. It also depends on the fabric you are using. The heavier fabrics and/or the wider fabrics go faster than thin or narrow cut fabrics. In other words, it is a doable project even for the beginner!
