Nice work! I love the 86 Series tractors. As a teenager in the late 70's I swathed with a 186 Hydro and did fall tillage with a 1586. Both tractors were very easy to operate. Again, nice restoration! All the best!
Take her back to the Dealer - She's Factory !!!!! That turned out Beautiful.. And your Edits are on point... the way you recorded almost the entire process was very well done ! Good Job all the way around...
Beautiful tractor the local dealer brought one out for my uncle to use picking high moisture ear corn hoping to convince him to trade in his 1066 two years later he bought a new 986 he traded a656 gas in on that. The 986 became his favorite tractor as the cab was so Youquiet and had a/c as well as a good radio. You did a great job on the restoration thanks for sharing
I like the mirrors. Did you have to weld the ROPS to make the mirrors work? Or was it welded to another part? Can you please clarify the part numbers used for the mirrors and brackets. Great rebuild.
From factory they were red but in our opinion those tractors look better with silver rims to match the back rims. We also painted the front pillar posts black rather than white for similar reasons
I have a ‘77 886 with just the ROPS Kit. Been trying to find a white top sheet metal roof piece. It’s all one piece instead of having the cutout for the heat/ac cover. Any ideas?
Mike links from triple r tractor might be able to help you out with new sheet metal. Justin Red Nalle might be able to source a clean used roof skin for you also. He helped us out sourceing most of our replacement used parts for the build
I’m curious if it’s for sale?...my daddy bought 2 of them brand new in either 78 or 79... I remember when they pulled up on the truck...2 of them on a drop deck! Coolest thing I had seen before!!! I had a sheltered life pretty far off the road..😂
Your 1086 looks great. You put alot of effort and hours into it but, I didn't see you touch the motor, Trans or clutch. Did you tear it down that far and didn't freshen those things up? She looked to have quite a few hours on her before resto.. paint will only get you so far. Sorry for being a wet blanket.
The black pillar posts and black interior was intentional. We think these tractors look better without the white posts and an all black interior is much cleaner looking. The black post will hopefully hide scratch more than the white also
Not fussed on the mirrors although obviously very practical but the rest of the restoration is fantastic. Restoring my MF165 at the moment - hope it turns out as well as this!
I am getting set up to take on more restorations. I have 1 or 2 boxcar magnums scheduled for restorations this coming spring and will post videos on them.
One of world's most beautiful tractors. The restoration makes it all complete
First tractor my grandfather ever taught me to drive! Will always have a beautiful place in my heart! Wonderful job!
You dont have to be an international fan to recognize how pretty that tractor is. Love the sound of a straight pipe.

Thanks 👍
I'm not a red man but you did a hell of a job just perfect
I just pulled a 1086 out of the woods yesterday. I can’t wait to restore it.
1086. My favorite since I was a kid
That’s awesome, I grew up driving a 1486. We couldn’t keep the transmission going, but she was a good tractor to drive. Thanks for sharing your video.

New mirrors are a nice touch
Very nicely done work, the tractor became very nice👍💪💪👍👌
Looks nice that’s the kind of tractor i want to buy 👍
Molto bravi !,
Good work
Very good 👍
Espestacular👏👍
Wow. Well done. This was a good series. Well... I got some ideas from watching this. Who did you buy your cab replacement kit from ?
I’ve got one like it. That ol girl will pay you back 10 times over. Exactly what she needed.
Man i would love to do this
Fun fact about the IH 1486. The rear wheels diameter is larger than the hood length
Sweet
I like the mirrors. Did you have to weld the ROPS to make the mirrors work? Or was it welded to another part? Can you please clarify the part numbers used for the mirrors and brackets. Great rebuild.
The mirrors are from K and M manufacturing, we made custom brackets that are welded to the top of the front posts
Looks great. Only thing wrong is the front rims should be red.
From factory they were red but in our opinion those tractors look better with silver rims to match the back rims. We also painted the front pillar posts black rather than white for similar reasons
@@thomasstanton5170 agreed.
Beautiful restoration! Beautiful Tractor!
Mint
It's super nice. How many months did this take to do it.

Great job on this, the paintwork and detail looks great. Do you have a gallery of the pictures anywhere?
Excellent work! What brand/ type of paint did you use?
CRE primer and delfleet essentials single stage polyurethane base coat
The tractor looks great. Do you perform restoration work for customers ? I have a IH 1486 in need of restoration.
Not yet, but hopefully in the future.
We have a beautiful original 1486. And another original thats been sitting outside where it died.
This is awesome. It looks better than new!! Our 1979 Red Power 1086 needs restoration. Thanks for video
For future reference…How much to bring back an IH 1066?
Awesome job guys. Looks new again.
I have a ‘77 886 with just the ROPS Kit. Been trying to find a white top sheet metal roof piece. It’s all one piece instead of having the cutout for the heat/ac cover. Any ideas?

You're very meticulous, fun to watch the whole resto at once!
Did you make the mirror brackets or did they come with the mirrors?
We made them, and welded them directly to the frame of the cab, similar to the boxcar magnums.
Great job!! What would u charge to do another!?!
Its hard to put a number on a job this extensive. We put over 400 hrs of labor into the build alone. I would have to charge around $20k roughly.
I’m curious if it’s for sale?...my daddy bought 2 of them brand new in either 78 or 79...
I remember when they pulled up on the truck...2 of them on a drop deck!
Coolest thing I had seen before!!!
I had a sheltered life pretty far off the road..😂
seeing inters new delivered
is timeless no one can ever take that away.
Wow! Fantastic work!

Magnifigue....
Beautiful!!!!!!
Others then they got the paint wrong on parts of the can it looks great

Today in France these mirrors are essential.
Very good looking and efficient
👌👍✊👏👏
Are you doing restoration work, I have a 1086 looking at getting done?
I am getting set up to take on more restorations. I have 1 or 2 boxcar magnums scheduled for restorations this coming spring and will post videos on them.
Is the restortion for use or sail😊its a beuti better then new💪
For use, not for sale
I have the matching 6 row planter for this Era of ih tractor
Remarkable Job
How many hours spent on this tractor???
Over 400 hrs on the restoration.
How long did this take you to restore?
About 10 minutes.
Hard to say, approximately 400+ hours went into the project
👍🏻
Is this for sale?
No, it is not for sale
What year
77'
I have a 686. Would you restore mine??????
I’d love to, but at the moment I don’t have the time or setup to do more restorations. Hopefully in the ear future I will be able to
Good job
Nice restoration but those mirrors 👎🏻 but to each their own. As long as you like it is all that matters
Thank god you didnt paint the axles red.
I dont like it.
It looks so tiny in the thumbnail. But this is a good size tractor.
Good job
