Honestly raising level cap is completely fair imo. They have access to move, items (sitrus berries), and ubers way before you do -- if anything it helps to balance it a bit.

Every livestream I've caught, which is about 4 of them, he ends up sitting in the same spot for about 15 mins, looking away from his computer, not saying anything, not interacting. He might be reading donos, but doesn't say anything. Haha. Then once he starts paying, he does about 9 wild encounters to train something, then stops for another 15 mins to read something off screen, without saying anything. I may have just caught bad streams, but dam was it lame everytime xD These videos are by far the best way to consume his content. (IMO at least. Still love the guy.)

I remember some guy commenting saying something to the effect of "each new highlight video about Kaizo will just be How I beat The Hardest First Gym Leader Nuzlocking, to How I beat The Hardest Second Gym Leader Nuzlocking" and so on, that man was right on the money it seems.
He intentionally gets his hitmontop burnt by wild Pokémon before important battles, to always have his guts ability active. The damaged seel was to provoke the opponents AI to use a certain move that would kill seel from this HP, but not do a lot to the switch in, giving him a free switch.
After trying the Emerald Kaizo Nuzlocke i 100% can understand the pain and challenge of these battles. Plus see how you are arguably/the best nuzlocker out there. But at 35:08 I couldn’t help but laugh because it perfectly sums up the Game. You think a matchup is fine but it ain’t….. its wild how much easier attempt sixteens first aqua grunt wouldve been had he not sac'd rhyhorn and/or kabuto during roxanne, esp since he said that theyre weak to fighting/brawly and implied it wouldnt be a big deal. hes talked ab this before but i find it interesting how choices much earlier in a run steamroll into major implications later on, i.e. having no proper outs for voltorb or snorunt and having to sacrifice things that couldve been useful vs brawly edit: wow he beat brawly anyway, nice. still didnt have a rock-type for the museum explosion grunt and had to lose azumarill instead
